Those of you goin Upandan spitting shit about cold harsh weather. I won't blame you.
It might be that most of you have never had A.C. About Tax, why should one worry bout Tax when it's been used to put every amenities for your own enjoyment. Why should it concern him.
In your own case, you live in a harsh hot weather with no electricity to put a fan on, while in his own case(UKmigrant), constant electricity to put the heater on..
Stop vomiting irrelevant advise here please...

The view from my window. I usually get the temptation to climb on the roof and mess around, but whenever I read the notice on the window, my body go just calm down.

Hopefully I move to my own place by month end and this constant temptation will stop. Whats the point of having a window that leads to a roof if u can't climb it? lipsrsealed angry

Very interesting thread @op, thanks also for making it flow, else the lessons from the credit card discourse would have been lost. I feel what you have been through and am really encouraged by your decision, pls keep it comming though I know that work schedule will now make this not easy. However I would like to request a favour, from you, Justwise & other admin; kindly give us a thread on Tier 2 Visa applications, it is great to see that it is still possible to get sponsored to work in the UK from Nigeria. Some of us are not just too comfortable with the distance & cost for Australian PR or the weather for Canadian PR

Seconded. The existing UK visa enquiry thread is full of visitors and students. Getting Tier 2 visa information is like looking for a needle in a hay stack. I was happy when this thread was created initially but that was short lived as questions on Tier 2 visas were immediately banned.
I think we deserve a thread for intending skilled UK migrants just as we have for Australia and Canada.

System here works because NL and tax, that is his health insurance, police protection, road maintenance, bin collection, public library etc.

He will not be worrying about fueling his generator, bad roads, bribing police to do their job, paying for sub-standard medical treatment, security issues.

Pension reduction is his money and his company will be paying into his pension pot as well.

So i don't know why people complain about paying tax.

Thanks and God bless you for this revelation.

The PR scheme is different from the Tier 2 Visa application because you already have a job and employer sponsoring you to the UK and the cost of applying for the visa as a family is even more costly than d PR scheme.

Also, the contract you have with the employer determines the length of your visa ranging from 6months to 3yrs den later to 5yrs.

Summary is you must get a job from an A rated sponsor to be able to apply

Thanks and God bless you for this revelation.

In addition to what i listed above, the op will benefit from his tax contributions when he will become ILR holder in 5yrs time and married then his tax will be lowered, get working tax credit and his kids get free education.

The system is not perfect but its fairer than what is obtainable in Nigeria

Doesn't have to be an A rated sponsor as long as it is an approved sponsor recognised by the home office.

This is how a sane society looks like. Everything works! You feel safe moving at night (something I can't even do by certain hours to avoid harassment by the dreaded police and vigilantes). Even tho where I'm in Nigeria seem 'safe').

OP, I can't envy you, rather I'm inspired by you. Sooner or later, I'll do same (tho not the UK). Let my future child(ren) not come and lay curses on daddy for not using opportunities when he had them.
