The Reinhard Bonnke's Farewell crusade : A Great Lesson.

The just concluded Reinhard Bonnke's farewell crusade taught me a great lesson that will remain with me all the days of my life on earth.
The preparation for the crusade centered around heads of churches and ministries, officers of the Christian association of Nigeria ( CAN) and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria ( PFN). Committees were drawn from these groups to cater for accommodation, IT needs, counselling of new converts and transportation.

At the committee level, a number of heads of ministries and churches were particular about the finance, how much will be available to them in cash but the Deeper life church were particular about the souls. I'm not a member of Deeper life but as a top officer I watched on.

Others kept on demanding for money to work but the officials of the Deeper life Church were encouraging the brethren to sacrifice. The Deeper life church supplied about 50,000 counsellors and provided their camp free of charge to any counsellor who may want to sleep over irrespective of the church such may come from. Its like they are well grounded in the spirit of sacrifice.

When the program eventually begun, they were everywhere scouting for souls as others were scouting for financial remuneration.

Immediately the committees were informed that there won't be any money for transportation, many went recumbent but the Deeper life church were spending their personal money and likewise spending themselves. Like I earlier said I'm not a member of the Deeper life church but their commitment in following up converts challenged me and left in me an indelible mark.

They forsook all to ensuring none of the harvest was wasted.

Many of the way people appear and dance and behave is not in line with the Deeper life doctrine but they jettisoned all of that for them to harvest souls. I'm not surprised because their doctrine centers almost exclusively on the rewards after life and it brought for them a great dividend in this crusade.

They never allowed the efforts of the Reinhard Bonnke's ministry go down the drain.

Many of us know too much, talk too much but none is translating to good quality service that will endear to the hearts of the master.

We need to change our attitude towards money as ministers because the love of money is the root of all the evils being witnessed in Nigeria and in the church today.

God will surely reward all that gave their all for this crusade. We all should ensure these souls are not lost.

Focusing on souls that can be converted into tithe-paying members of Deeper Life church will bring in more money on the long run. Smart.

Update: Apologies to those who were offended. sad

For the sake of brevity, I'll reply you and Seun at the same time.

If you are conversant with Nigerian Crusades, you'll know that most "converts" are usually very poor and possess little or no education at all. You'll hardly see a young man or woman who can at least feed and cloth himself coming out for such. It's very very rare. The ones who dedicate their time and effort to follow up these converts often use their own personal resources without reimbursement from any one.
Now how much tithe can you get from an unemployed man?
How much tithe can you get from an uneducated widow who lives on the goodwill and support of friends and family?

The problem here is that you can never ever reason like a *REAL CHRISTIAN*, a true disciple of Christ. The Christian life is one of sacrifice.
Widows, orphans and poor people have always been supported by the Church right from the book of Acts...

That you are even asking this shows the sorry state Christianity is in today. It's all about money. Let's not pretend you give a damn or care about any of those 'poor' people. They are just numbers to you.

Hope you will follow them up after the program is over.

In other words, thinking like a slave and offering yourself as dumb sheep should be encouraged. Well done, I prefer to think properly. Christian thinking is generally not at all productive. I hear y'all are trying to crack some tithe codes Yahweh handed to Moses in some wilderness in faraway Asia. And you call yourselves wise?

I agree with you but one or two other churches also sacrificed valuable time to spend with their families by sleeping in various hostels for the crusade from Wednesday to Sunday without any tangible monetary reward.

Deeper truly left an indelible mark with the way they embraced other churches in their hostels, I mean deeper life hostels, they accommodated other churches in their hostels.

The first day of the crusade, I witnessed about 15 to 20 of big Brt side Deeper life buses, I was told that some of my members came through deeper life buses.

PASTOR Kumuyi has taught me something, he has really left an indelible mark on me.

He is a true man of God.

Na wa o. You can't comprehend easily right? I'll help you out. Those who follow up the converts do it genuinely for the sake of the expansion of the Kingdom of God. This expansion takes place through preaching (to unsaved men), teaching ( believers what they ought to know about Christ) and practicing what Christ has commanded.

The Bible let's us know that there is Joy over one sinner that repents than over 99 already righteous people. To some people, those convert might be mere figures, but to those who are faithful stewards, just one convert means much more than money.

The Bible let's us know that we (Christians) are strangers and pilgrims in this present World. We are not of the world.

You can think "properly" all you want, but those whose lives have been touched and transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ will continue to take His message all over the World and continue to do His will.

Funny. I thought the Kingdom of God was within you.

Sounds like something a cult would say. Increase in numbers is the mission/objective. The other side needs 'saving, they are evil, they must become like us to be free'.

blessedvisky:

Of course, why wouldn't it. You've possessed the mind. He is now a 'new creature'. His 'sins' have been forgiving. Now, he must do like the rest of the cult members, sorry, church members before him.

Haahaha. And you believed that?

I will, I am, and I'm loving it.

Ok. Goodluck. Hope your Pastor lets you use the private jet to do that.

What if Jesus died in Africa
Born of a carpenter
Welcomed by three dibias
With cowries, yams and talismans

What if Jesus died in Africa
Faraway from Mecca
And closer to Abuja,
Aso Rock, his path on Passover

What if Jesus died in Africa
His cross made of rafia
Stoned with mounds of eba
Alomo passed to him as his soul crossed over

But Jesus didnt die in Africa
No eba was stoned at Golgotha
The son of David had no idea whatsoever
That there was a land called Africa.

I actually have no issues with you seeing it as low, my only issue is with your using Zuckerberg as some standard that all social media site owners should act like, Seun doesn't have to emulate everything Zuckerberg does just because Mark is richer, his website bigger and he's more popular than Seun; Zuckerberg chose not to talk the way Seun does and Seun chose not to talk the way Zuckerberg does; individual differences apply

No the world is limited in knowledge and deluded by your Father's falsehood.

Nairaland is older than Twitter o. But see what Twitter has grown to become today.
