Greetings!

This is my preferred starting eleven for now in the 3-5-2 formation.
Moses should start for the RWB role while the likes or Ebuehi and Shehu can come in as subs. We can recall during the last world cup edition in 2014, Moses couldn't do very well against world cup teams in a forward role, despite his impressive runs against African teams in Afcon and other subsequent games against African sides, so why not avoid the same mistakes this time?

Another point is that, he can also impress in the wing back role, he is indefatigable in running, he can draw players to himself, thereby providing more space for Iheanacho and Iwobi to do some serious damages to the opponent's defenses. He can also drift in the 18 yard box to cause havoc when Nigeria is attacking just like how Idowu was found in the 18 yard box of Argentina too from the LWB role.

Another very important thing that Nigeria stands to benefit if Moses plays wing back is a very good defensive cover. Chelsea rarely concedes a goal from the right side if Moses is on the pitch and he is playing RWB, I can tentatively say that Chelsea have NOT conceded a goal from that right side with Moses playing the RWB role and even if they have, it will be on very few occasions. he always have that side looked against any team, and since he got injured now, Chelsea have been conceding many goals from there, which goes to show what Moses have been offering in that role. Now imaging him playing that role again for Nigeria and replicating that form, that will be a big plus to Nigeria.

Another point is that the flow between Mikel, Iwobi and Iheanacho combination should not be tempered with for now. If Moses is made to play a forward role now, his style of football may not suit the flow and thereby disrupting it. The combination between Mikel, Iwobi and Iheanacho have been devastating to defenses and should continue.

Why I picked Ogu ahead of Onazi for now is because of his good combination with Ndidi. We see the best of each other (Ndidi and Ogu) when they play. Ogu have showed he also has some pace and can use his positioning also to neutralize attacks, which can come in handy against those highly rate teams.

Awaziem is good with his left foot so he should play in the LCB role while Balogun should move to the center beacause of his "lack of pace."

So here is my preferred line up for now
This your formation requires Ighalo to be on the bench.
Secondly ,I dondt think Rohr would allow Moses, the team's most lethal attacker to with his trickery and intelligence in the final third to waste in the wingback role. This can't happen.

What we should aim for is measured dynamism. What if as in 2014 Moses flops as an offensive player? What then?
Here's Amunike speaking recently to Completesportsnigeria.com.
“Obviously, nobody gave the team (Super Eagles) a chance to beat Argentina in Tuesday’s international friendly but we all saw how they rattled Argentina. They must be prepared for tougher and better teams than the Argentines in Russia.
“If our team can be a bit dynamic and less predictable like they were against Argentina then we stand a chance of shocking these so-called big teams"

I repeat this is not the time to have just one or even two tactical formation. We go hear am if we do. We need to perfect at least three formations. We simply cannot afford to be static.

The Shocking Advice My Coach Gave Me About Nigeria - Super Eagles Player, Brian Idowu

Brian Idowu

Nigerian fans would have watched one of their own strutting his stuff in Russia’s colours at the 2018 World Cup if the European country had not dilly-dallied.

Perhaps Brian Idowu would have jumped at the opportunity to represent the country where he was born.

Until the 25-year-old energetic and tough-tackling defender made his international debut in the Super Eagles’4-2 defeat of South American giants Argentina in a friendly affair in Krasnodar, Russia, on Tuesday, he was eligible to play for both Russia and Nigeria because he holds dual citizenship.

The utility Amkar Perm player was born in St Petersburg, Russia, where his architect Nigerian father and his medical doctor half-Nigerian and half-Russian mother met while attending university.

Idowu, whose middle name is Oladapo, was touted as a potential star in the Russian set-up following his standout performances in Amkar’s campaign in the 2015-16 Russian Premier League season. With the player’s performance turning him into something of a cult hero in the team, some sections of the Russian media tipped him to represent the national team at the first World Cup holding in the country since its inception in 1930.

Now, the player, who scored on his international debut after coming on as a half-time substitute for Ola Aina at the Krasnodar Stadium, has revealed that he was forced to consider representing Nigeria when Russia failed to make their intentions known despite his week-in-week-out head-turning performances at Amkar.

The Russian Football Union was reportedly keen on having Idowu, who can play as a left-back, right-back, central defender, winger and central midfielder, in the national team. But Russia coach Stanislav Cherchesov, who never gave Idowu a chance on the first team when he managed Amkar from 2013 to 2014, refused to invite him.

Idowu grew frustrated with Cherchesov’s apparent lack of interest in his services – and decided to listen to Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr when the 64-year-old German sounded him out about his Nigeria project.

But his Russian coach at Amkar Gadzhi Gadzhiyev wanted Idowu to play for the country where he was born and tried to stop him from switching his international allegiance to Nigeria.

“Nigeria coach Gernot Rohr contacted me and told me that he was following me,” ESPN quoted Idowu as saying on Thursday.

“He wanted to invite me to the squad, but that was impossible because I didn’t have a Nigerian passport.

“Gadzhiev said that such a call is not incidental, and I should keep progressing. He advised me to wait and see if I get called by Russia as well. I don’t see why I can’t play for Russia if I keep getting better, but they have good players like Mario Fernandes in my position. They don’t miss me.”

Apart from guaranteeing him a place in his World Cup squad to Russia 2018, Rohr is looking to Idowu to play dual roles at the tournament.

The bolded shows he wasn't really valued within English ranks as you're trying to make it seem. How would a hitman move from supposed Scottish title contenders to English championship side? Not even EPL relegation fighters... Ok, after single handedly (whatever u call singlehandedly) bringing hull up, how much did he play in their epl campaign?
I am one of Aluko's admirers, but I would not attribute his omission to any upper powers. I feel it's due to coaches preferring other options.

Who told you he was not valued?

Rayo Vallecano have joined the Spanish clubs chasing Sone Aluko and aim to tempt the Rangers forward with a £14,500-per-week contract. (the Sun)
...................................................................................

Sone Aluko only signed for Rangers in November of 2011, but fortunately for the former Aberdeen man, he had enough time to impress before things took a turn for the worse at Ibrox. La Liga side Rayo Vallecano were actively pursuing him later that season, but with their own financial situation taking a nosedive it would be difficult for them to renew their move. A switch to the Championship is perhaps more likely, with Charlton and Crystal Palace both thought to be interested in the pacey winger, though the three clubs promoted to the Premier League - Southampton, Reading and West Ham - could also be tempted.

...................................................................................

Do you really want to know why he did not play much in the EPL? Let us cure our ignorance.

Just after that though his first problems with his Achilles started and that basically ended his first season.

He had recovered by the start of the following Premier League season and he scored a superb goal at Newcastle but those Achilles problems dogged him for that whole of that season.

“By the time he got back properly fit it was almost as if the club had moved on, they’d spent big money on Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic and he was out of the picture a bit

That's a very unfair statement to make about Dele a boy that was abandoned by his Father left with an alcoholic mother. Who then lost her children as an incapable parent and Dele found himself in the care system like an orphan.

How do you expect him to look at his Father Where we're all his Uncles and Aunty's Where were all the concerned Nigerians that should have offered to look after him.
Yes very unfair statement, honestly before we make comment on this foreign born we need to do our research very well or else we w not be fair in our judgements. Some went through a very painful and devastating experience when growing up.

Dele Ali was raised by a neighbor despite having Dad and Mum alive, the parents failed to live up to their responsibility. So we must respect his decision for playing for England.

John and Justin Fashanu passed through similar scenario, they were abandoned by their Nigerian Father who came down to Nigeria and were adopted by a Forster parents who raised them,so sometimes i find it difficult blaming these guys.

Jordon Ibe faced similar situation his Nigeria Father was just too irresponsible to the extent a Jamaican step Dad raised the guy,so how we expect him to feel Nigerian.

Most of the Foreign born that turned up for Nigeria have very good parental care right from childhood to fame namely Tunji Banjo,Rueben Agboola,Efan Ekoku,Hope Akpan,Anichebe,Balogun,Ekong,Iwobi,Aina,Ebuhei, Idowu.

Anthony Joshua relating to Nigeria was due to his parents cos they gave him basics foundation and love as a parent but a child raised by forster parents, it takes a miracle for such child to feel Nigerian.

What can we say of a Ghana boy Balotelli who felt betrayed by his parents for abandoned him for a forster parents, this things are not easy, having a parents but raised by some one else.

I remember John and Justin Fashanu came to Nigeria for the first time in the 80s to know their Dad but Justin felt betrayed and never forgive his Dad but John thought otherwise and relate with him.

I believe we need to respect their decision even Tammy Abraham, Dominic Solanke, they have their life to live,we have many of them out there representing different countries.

At no time has there been kind of comparison between Ibe and Solanke.

Ibe is essentially a winger and Solanke is a true striker. They never met at Liverpool.

In reality for what he does I rate him more than Iwobi which in your sentiment you will fund hard to believe.

This summer how many teams pur in a bid for Iwobi he almost lost his position in Arsenal because he lacked consistency.

Not too long ago a well known contributor said that Iwobi was better than the Ox. Claiming that every EPL manager would rather have Iwobi, I quietly told him he was wrong. Using sentiment to cloud objective judgement. My final yardstick was to see how many clubs would go for him Iwobi compared to the Ox. Well the Ox is at Liverpool rejecting almost double the money to play in his prefered position of AM.

Now that we have dealt with Iwobi outside of Mikel who is able to compete with Aluko

bro you also and forgiveness r arguing out of point so i cant compare ibe n solanke but its fine to compare solanke n iwobi or aluko n iheanacho.

You seem to forget that once an african chooses to play for africa his chances of playing top flight diminishes except and i repeat exceptionally good. more over arsene wenger never had in mind to sell iwobi in any form, Ox case was clear he wants to leave and in no way is Ox better than Iwobi.

Let me not derail or push any further, my opinion is that Aluko is no where better than players we have on ground, for christ sake he shld be like 30 now, i knew he was 24 when he played for us, so age is not on his side.

the way forgiveness is ringing his name has even made some of us that loved him begins to hate him, aluko is done and gone and in no way he can make it to world cup now, except Real madrid come buy am.

My apologies for jumping into your discussion. I feel Aluko switched to Nigeria for political reasons.
Sone's dad being a senator from Ogun state, must have thought it wise for his political ambitions to have Sone play for Nigeria. He cannot afford to have his 2 kids represent England, could be a nail on his political career.
His opponents will use it heavily against him.

Secondly, we know how patriarchal the African political climate is. It won't be out of question that the Aluko political dynasty could be eyeing up Sone as a replacement for his father's seat in the future. The Nigerian constitution restricts dual nationals political office.
It could be a political chess move.
I say this because Eniola blatantly refused to play for Nigeria. Being female, she could get away with it.

For me, that is what I can make out of the situation. Not for a fact though, just my thoughts.

I don't know but it his sister rejected Nigeria after she saw the way we mistreated her brother.

Eniola debuted for England in 2004. Omatsone debuted for Nigeria in 2009. Eni is older.
This is a quote from wikipedia:

"Aluko was called into the England set-up at the age of 14.[citation needed] She chose to remain loyal to the English coaches who had given her the opportunity to play international football, but said: "The main thing for me is for people to understand that choosing to play for England doesn't mean that I don't support Nigeria. I'm as much Nigerian as I'm British. Of course Nigeria means a lot to me, it's part of me, but I've been brought up by English coaches."[55]"

Eniola was only 17 on her senior debut. Her brother must have been 15 or so

For a start, Balogun declared. I knew we stood a big chance with Aina when he sent kits home and tagged the picture with sending it to his fatherland. We can not reach out to everyone or make a catalogue of those to visit and enquire. The easiest way is to declare.

sending kits to Nigeria is not the same as declaring. Remember Mikel talked about him and basically labeled him as not really serious about his intentions. The fact is we also have to do work, manner has not fallen from even in ages.

I think we need a good ball holder and passer like Mikel. I think those are the qualities we miss whenever he is not on the pitch.
I think emphasis needs to be put on ball holding before we start throwing names

Modified
Okocha was somewhat a ball holder because it was hard for an opponent take the ball from him because of his sublime tricks. Mikel, rather, guides the ball so well, hence was able to replace Okocha in this respect. Okocha's passing is supreme though.

Is Lukaku English yet he is accorded unquestionable respect and accolades as possibly the best striker in the premiership.

Was Drogba English but he is regarded as a legend in the EPL and in Chelsea.

Thierry Henry is not English he even has a statue in his honor at Highbury.

Is Ngolo Kante English voted best player in the EPL by his fellow professionals.

Was JJay Oyibo but they never stop talking about him in the EPL. Was Kanu, Yakubu English or shall we talk of Gabriel, Sana, or Mane & Salah at Liverpool came from the Moon.

Mahrez that Leicester refused to sell is he not Algerian voted best African player in the EPL.

You may need like to be woken up very abruptly from your delusion, KC has not performed in the EPL that's why he is not even in the top 20. Since he left Manchester city his rating has dived. He needs to start performing at Leicester the good thing he is still performing for the SE but in the SE it's a different matter.

As it stands Tammy and Solanke are ahead of him and if they were in the SE there is no guarantee he would have displaced them.

What concerns me with the players you're mentioning upandan? I'm saying the truth and you're labelling me delusional? If you don't understand what I'm Tryna pass across, don't go ballistics. simple.

Actually Colin is a different name entirely. It's not like Bryan versus Brian.
See this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Colin_(given_name)

Just like Mikel I guess it looks better to him

Like you said we should not go to the WC with intent of sticking to one formation. Dynamism is king.
So other formations have to be in consideration. I think versatile players will have a stronger chance of making it to Russia.
Don't forget most of these players can play at least two positions.

Mujtahida:

This set up reveals that we are short of central defenders and we would drop either one from Aina, Shehu, Ebuehi. One would also drop from Moses Simon, Musa and Onyekuru.

Colin is not Collins. two different names.
Mikel is derived from Michael. In Mikel Obi's case, it was PROBABLY misspelled at a point in time, then it stuck to him.

reasons KC is better than solanke.

1) KC has scored many international goals for nigeria while solanke can barely get a full cap let alone scoring.

2) KC has scored goals in the EPL and may likely add to it as for solanke he's not even playing games not to talk of scoring.

3) KC baring injuries is by God's grace going to the world cup. solanke baring injuries is going to be sat on his couch watching england play in russia

i agree that solanke is better in choosing kit colour while KC changed from wearing light blue to a darker shade of blue solanke has impressively changed from wearing a blue jersey on the bench to a red colored jersey on the bench

Iheanacho is now a bench warmer in a relegated threatened club. Let us say the thruth.

Which market value Iheanacho wan get pass Tammy and Solanke? Oga, em value son dive nose pata pata.

Statically speak, Tammy is one of the top goal scorers in the EPL while Solanke is still in a better club than Iheanacho. grin

At the last World Cup we went with 8 defenders, 5 midfielders and 7 attackers. Ebuehi or Aina would miss out. Chai! Aina can't play LB for us.

In the midfield Etebo might miss out.

sending kits to Nigeria is not the same as declaring. Remember Mikel talked about him and basically labeled him as not really serious about his intentions. The fact is we also have to do work, manner has not fallen from even in ages.

Manna ke. The main work we need to do is even focusing on grassroots development to salvage a large pool of quality players. It is mutual for both parties.

I honestly wish Dele Alli the best with all my heart. Even if he does not represent us, I still want him to succeed. However, I will not lose sleep or break my head for him because we have loads of abandoned potential Super stars in Nigeria who do not have a quarter or tenth of what Alli had.

Babayanro is easily our best LB of the modern era of Nigerian football. It's not even up for debate.
Taiye Taiwo and Udeze should be hugging each other. They are on the same level as far as performance in the Gwg is concerned.
it's only forgiveness will tell u that Taye Taiwo is better than Babayaro.
not that he meant it,it's just to make sure he is at the opposing side

nigeria i think with a favourable draw can do quite well. senegal i think are the most star studded african team but i don't have much faith in their coach to get the best out of them but they are definitely capable. egypt has only salah. tunisians always flatter to deceive do well in qualifiers and collapse like a pack of cards in the main show. morocco? with herve renard they could spring a surprise

Hello guys.. Which African team do you think can perform most in the World Cup. Realistic predictions please

Iheanacho and Solanke were available during the transfer market but Iheanacho was not considered by the bigger clubs in England.

However, Chelsea and Liverpool fought nail and tooth to have Solanke.

What does that tells you?

Now, Iheanacho is a bench warmer in almost a relegated threatened team. A team that most of the first team can't smell the bench of Liverpool neither the U23.

What does that tells you?

Talking as if Solanke will keep Vardy on the bench if he joined Leicester City. Tell me another joke.

So are you saying Shehu and Aina are both defense minded, no attack in their previous outings for club and country?

Shehu is definitely defense minded. I doubt that one is up for debate. As for Aina, he is more right footed than left. expecting precise deliveries from the left when he gets forward is not going to happen. I hope this answers your question.

Boss, please what team is your Tammy playing for at the moment ? Swansea (bottom 4) how many goals has he scored for this season being that he is a starter and "the special one" ? 4. Your so so special player has scored 4 goals in 11 epl games. How many goals has Solanke scored ? 0, Assists nko 0. Please lets stop the arguement. At least on my end, I am done.
