They play 4 at the back. When they are 4 at the back, then the outside guys are called fullbacks not wing backs

Questence:

He played as wing back not right back. There is a difference.

He is listed as a right midfielder by his club.

I will admit to something in the past i was very African biased. In my football assessment where flamboyance, skill, flair and just general almost show boating where my first likes.

After quite a few players I was involved with were not getting ahead.

I discovered that the purpose of skill was for effective outcome delivery and end product.

I remember Tega Onomah at Tottenham he was filled with skill drag backs and silky wow moments. He has dropped that in favour of effective outcome delivery. His reading of the game is exceptional and an incredible eye for disguised and defence splitting passes just astounding. That's the new effective midfielder

Just like the traditional striker now has to join in play and fuses into a number of roles to be effective.

The truth is football is changing. It used to be entertainment and so skills, dribbling, showboating etc were the order of the day. But today's it business and business has no time for dazzle.

I must however note that the SE is now direct and business like in their play. Passes are more incisive. My best kind of football is that played by the champions league winning team of Bayern in 2013.

2 goal keepers...
1 defender
1 midfielder
and 1 striker....

Check his stats. He has had only 1 goal for Porto B this season. And zero assist.

The coach has even tried him as both right and left midfielder. No result. Now he has become a bench material.

Yahaya is a right back now... he plays in defence. Not wing back, Right back...

It w be better for him to get a loan in January to any LA liga 2 clubside to save his position in the national team, having a playing time is important for goalkeeper cos he came into the team due his two appearance for Deportivo this season.

Uzoho is playing regularly in division 3 for the B team.

You are all wrong.

Porto B plays 3 at the back.

He plays as a wing back not right back. And he is still listed as a midfielder meaning should their formation return to 4 at the back he will play in the midfield just like victor moses.

Check the picture of their profile I have attached.

I have watched several Porto games this year and he has played as a right back. I have even posted Porto games here on this page. They play mainly with 4 at the back.

I doubt it, maybe they look at "experience" before picking because we have about 2 young Nigeria ref (Qadri Adebimpe and Ferdinand Udoh, both less than 30yrs (very true to their ages) and have been officiating both CCL, CCC, nations cup qualifiers and world cup qualifiers. Look them up, they are FIFA badged refs.

Get well soon, Leon! https:///1WRzkVbTb9

Mujtahida:

Some persons here are not in Europe but just by taking advantage of the Internet and other sources of information they've brought other players to our attention - players like Dessers, Olayinka, Adegbenro, Onuachu, Bonaventure etc. What amazes me is that I cannot recollect you saying anything about this guys. You have not said ohh Dessers, what's the noise about this guy. Let me check him out. No you don't and won't do that simply because he's not in the EPL or championship or league one.
As a lover of the Super Eagles, our eyes scan every continent and region looking for who can fit into the team. The moment we hear of any player doing well we check him out, we try- even if inadequately- through youtube videos to size him up to see if he's quality. But you are stuck with UK FB players. Not bad. But try and check others out and remove that notion from your mind that good players cannot be found in the lower rungs of the lowest leagues. Dele Alli proves that that notion is plausible but not an absolute truth.

I am now perplexed, this is something I have gone to great lengths to advocate about. So I really do not see your point.

Go back to my past posts and enrich yourself in that particular discourse.

You are changing the goal posts again.

When I talk about players in England, I may have seen them in training, talked to thier coaches, thier agents watched thier games live over a period and in addition talk to them.

When I want to know more about Nigerian football there are those I look at and regard highly on this forum. I don't need feel a need to check myself.

Let someone who is in mainland Europe who has watched him in training, spoken to his coaches, seen him live over a period and has indepth experiential knowledge of the Belgium and or Eredivisie leagues talk about him. Not me.

I have a friend who is the head of recruitment at championship club. He was previously the HOD recruitment of three current EPL clubs. He does not do videos, admittedly he is very old school.

The Connecticut Lottery has an iconic TV promo, back when I lived there, it says, you can't win if you don't play.

Our boys haven't progressed because, in some cases, they haven't really been given a chance to play. You can't progress if you don't play. Take the case of Kelechi, for instance, how many games has he started and completed at Leicester since the beginning of the season? Now, people would expect him to score 20 goals per season just by playing 10 mins per match, here and there. If our players start one or two games without hitting it out the park then they are exiled onto the bench for the foreseeable future. Now, how do you expect them to perform wonders? Do you know that sitting on the bench does damage to one confidence?

I don't know if you know my story but I speak from experience when I say some of these things.

O pari

komekn:

The question I will use to qualify your proposition.

How far have our youth players progressed over the years We get to very high accolades at youth level that does not transfer to professional development.

Look at the that 2005 team that included Mikel. Consider where the majority of Argentinian players have progressed to over the past 12 years and then see where our players have got too.

That observation is reflective in all our youth teams but less so since 2013. The advent of MRI scanning.
