Thank you so much for this detailed response. Am very grateful.

1. I will research into the PhD program as u have suggested.

I read online that it is possible to change university/course in Canada so I am thinking if I can apply to another option related to structural (Like Masters in Geotechnical Engineering or Construction Management) which is an advancement in my career so on getting to canada I will change to structural engineering or just take few courses related structural engineering. Will this be work?

2. Yes you are right about the job, financially it is not too good but the experience is worthwhile. (That's what we sometimes get when one is starting out as a structural engineering consultant in Nigeria). I believe structural engineering jobs will continue to be available and if I go for Masters in construction management or Geotechnics that will make me more competitive.

3. I will open a domiciliary account and talk to my sponsor to fund it but hope it won't lead to issues of lump sum deposit or something?

Thank you so much once again .

You are welcome!! Yes you can change courses once in Canada through the same school or transferring to another university. Funding domiciliary is money immediately available for your use and will not present issues, especially if you get a letter from one of the sponsors affirming the purpose of the transfer. Best wishes!

This Visa thing will not give man heart attack. One month and no update on my application but you can see plenty approval and some delays lol. Everything i am doing is on hold now because January is fast approaching and ticket prices are soaring. To those still waiting on their approval, have faith and stay positive. God knows why he made you take this decision. Have a great day guys!

Depending on your bargaining skills, you can have it done with 3k-5k at hand..... It's only done at Alagbon, Ikoyi and you get it immediately...... All the best.

@Oriazowan I just saw your post.
My spouse will be going to UNBC in January. He applied on the 10th of July and just got approved on the 13th of November. I would advice you to just wait. You will get it. They have very few Nigerian's going to UNBC.

Thank you very much Ma for your response. I ll try and be patient. I sincerely hope it works out.

Is there anyone here that has ever applied to University of Saskatchewan? If yes, how long did it take for the school reply? I have applied for close to 2 months and I haven't seen change in my application status.

Hey everyone,
I need some help here as regards to my student visa application
I got an admission into Humber College, and I'm supposed to resume in January, although that has been pushed due to the ongoing strike
Long story short, I applied for my visa on the 21st of october, and I got a notice today stating that my application has been rejected.
Reason being that I hadn't satisfied them that I wouldn't return to Nigeria at the end of my stay. Which I actually plan on doing. Apparently, the factors the counseller considered were (-) Purpose of visit (-) Employee Prospects in my country of residence (-) Current Employee Situation
and (-) Personal assets and Financial status.
I'm a corper presently, and I'm ending my service this December. I really don't understand what exactly to do. I know I shouldn't reapply immediately so I wouldn't seem desperate. Besides, even if I reapplied now, I don't know how else to prove that I will come back.
I stressed the fact that I'm an only child in my Letter Of Explanation, that I'd like to come back to help in my father's business. I also attached certificates of assignment of two properties we had. But I didn't include a valuation on them. I attached the Certificate of Incorportation of my dad's company. My course is a 2 year course and I have paid for my whole first year, the proof of that was attached. We set aside some amount of money in a fixed deposit for my education, and I stated that and put a proof of that in my application.
I know I wasn't declined for financial reasons, but I just wanted to state everyting I did so as to get the best advice. I honestly thought I had done everything, and I am really disappointed.
Any advice on how to go further would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!

.

Hello,
I got an admission at Osgoode Law school for a masters program (Winter2018)
I got denied visa on 13/11/17
I applied on 13/10/17
Reasons are: insufficient funds
Family ties in Canada and Nigeria
Purpose of visit
My sponsor is my guardian who I have been living with since primary school.
He put in the necessary documents needed with a huge SOA .
My question is: Can I reapply this week because classes start Jan 3rd
Or should I defer my admission for
For summer or fall session
I am confused and sad.
I need your help people.

Sorry for the delay, I will advise you defer your admission so you can apply for your file from cic (to have a clearer picture why you were delayed). Order for your file then try to fix the loopholes and you should be good to go. Make sure your sponsor show commitment this time by paying your tuition fee a d also pay your living expenses into your personal account(That's how to tackle issue of
funds).
To tackle purpose of visit make sure your intended program /course is in line with your previous program/course. if you have a BSc already it will be better if you go for MSc this time, except if your grade is very low then you can go for PHD and ensure you explain yourself why you are going for it.
Family ties isn't much of and issue

What is your status at Qatar? If you merely a visitor, your application might be denied for status in country of application. If you are lucky it would be forwarded to Ghana for processing. However if you have permanent residency or student status in Qatar, might only be taking its sweet time to process. The average processing time is merely as stated---average. If you have legal status in Qatar, be anxious of nothing but with prayer and supplication, relax.

My refusal reasons are almost same as yours except for an additional 'not convinced of the availability of tuition for my course'. I paid half a year Humber college tuition. I plan on paying full year tuition and also swear an affidavit of return plus highlighting each reason of refusal on my SOP

Oh hey Valenti12, I plan to do same apart the affidavit part. I think the main wahala I have is that Purpose of visit. Maybe they're confused about why I'm going for a PGD instead of an MSc. I'll have to explain my reason about that in detail

You might want to reconsider re-applying for this January. I just got a mail from Humber college, an update on the Ontario colleges faculty strike. It is now resolved and the new start date is now January 29th, previously 8th January.
