Atyem:

It wasn't worse than what Nigerians and other Africans experience in south Africa. US had an ulterior motive for going to Libya. Libya was far better than Nigeria then in term of infrastructure and economy. Not untill Africa stops to swallow US bait, this mess will continue. Now the same US turn a blind eye when the situation gets worse than under Gaddafi.
That's True. Africa still has some sort of inferiority complex within them. They always feel or think What ever the US or the white generally bring up is the best and then they support blindly and just a few African leaders have stood to fight that over time. But unfortunately, the people never support them. I always feel so bad when i read about Libya years after the death of Gaddafi. Let's see what the US government will do about the Mess, moreso now that they have a president that is concerned about his country alone.

The NEMA guy said that over 600 Nigerians were repatriated from Libya in 2016 (by NEMA and the International Organisation for Migration) and he stressed that these are voluntary returnees, not deportees.

And these were the once dully registered and can be accounted for, some must have left Libya they knowing about it.

instead of being so hostile in your response, you will ponder over what I said, the level of silence from the buhari administration until now was disturbing over this matter, the normal thing is when you see an issue like this, you confirm and first make public comment on the issue.. And for your information, not every one that criticizes the buhari administration voted for GEJ or is a fan or GEJ. I voted for buhari and if given the same options (Buhari or GEJ) I will still vote buhari. But his administration has been at snail speed towards vital fundamental mustang issues.
If not for anything, my level of literacy should show you that I don't belong to the noisy types that rant on nairaland.
if you mean what you say then you should know this government is not silent on the issue , I will ask you this do you know how many Nigerians this government evacuate in Libya this year alone ?

This blogger is not ready for prime time judging from his English language. What’s the meaning of “has successfully landed to Nigeria airport “ and “The Nigerian government has respond(sic) to the maltreatment....,” No wonder people are complaining of the quality of education in our schools.

I wonder what Arabs would be like If Prophet Muhammad never came to their lives. Arabs are naturally wicked and vindictive. these are the same people that practise Islam and what Muhammad did a lot with the help his rich wife,Khadija and rich businessman friend who was one of the richest in Mecca then,Abubakar was he bought slaves and turn them to free men. he used to buy as much slaves as he could. he abolished slave trade later on and now these useless Libyans are bringing g it back. Many Arabs don't follow the teachings of Islam again, that's why you see TERRORISM here and there. when the prophet was so kind to all including Muslims and Christians,he used to pay sick Christians visit in clinics and give Christians food on festive days,he never forced anybody to be Muslim or despise any christian

You must be blind or just confused. GEJ was the greatest disaster that had happened to Nigeria.

As long as people lose hope, they will take great and unimaginable risk. Many will still wake up, pack their bags and head to Libya daring all consequences. It is failure of the country leadership. Above all it is godlessness that makes people lose hope and put their lives in danger of death. Many, instead of looking up to God for direction put their hope in political leadership which has shown to have no solution to man's problem. The scripture will say 'it is better to trust in the Lord than to depend on men, it is better to trust in the Lord than to depend on human leaders'. When all seem dark and hopeless, it is time always to turn to God for help rather than sinking into a state of hopelessness and despair.

Alot of people will have to live with the harsh reality that they will never get to see their sons and daughters again but knowing that they were probably sold, mutilated and tortured to death is painful .Just when we thought we were getting over events of the colonial slave trade era, we find out that Africans are doing just the same thing to us, this is just all shades of wrong cry cry cry

Kudos to the Nigerian government. This is what we expect from the government at all times, not only on high profile cases.
As for the Libyan racists, they will reap in abundance what they sowed.

As far as there are senseless leadership in african countries, people would always like running away to places they considered better.

What make me sad about nigeria, the senseless apc government is confused and directionless.

When countries withdrew their ambassadors to Libya I wondered what sense that action made. Your people needs you and the best thing is to be diplomatic noise?

Libya is a country which a central government is almost non existent and these people are held by people in places where the government of Libya can't do anything. If you want to help your people, go get them yourself.

Nigeria has rescued over 4,000 people this year from that country so will I say Abike Dabiri has been doing well? Yes

Without any iota of sentiments, I feel the lady Abike deserves to be our foreign affairs minister instead of the man in that office. Just imagine the other time she made a strong statement against the maltreatment of Nigerian in South Africa and the annoying way the foreign affairs ministry responded without a feeling for the deep loss of lives and prosperity of Nigerians in that country.

Its so sad that more than 80% of these people are from edo state and the oba of benin has neglected his primary role of been the custodian of the benin empire to be gallivantin upandan wearing expensive cloths while ur subjects sell themselves off as slaves in libya and italy.
He should be championing education for these people who get deceived that europe is paradise and libya is the entrance to paradise
The oba should lunch a massive education program for all edo boys and girls to see the apparent suicide they are embarking on

Instead of him to accept he was wrong about this governments efforts regarding the issue, he is busy grandstanding to mask his bias in his little bubble. Despite the fact that thousands have been rescued this year by the Buhari administration (most of who left during his predecessors misrule), it eats at his soul for the government to receive commendation for its efforts.

Kudos to Abike Dabiri/FG joor...if they hadn't done anything the same people would have called for their heads.
