Some people have made a fortune from corruption. And then you use these proceeds to raise your children and you wonder why they turn out to be drug addicts and misfits.

With the number of bulletproof vehicles on our roads today and the ease with which money can purchase anything in this country, I’m sure the certificate won’t be hard to obtain. And I’m sure the owners of those cars are not poverty ridden.

The trick is obtaining them from the source and having the destination signoff on them. Or something to that effect.

I’m yet to understand the rationale behind this or what makes the cars liable to be seized. I hope they’re not just trampling on the work of honest hardworking people like in the days of OBJ just to announce a 1trn Naira revenue.

Unless these cars are stolen, anyone who imports these expensive vehicles clearly has enough funds to legally clear them.

Shut up and read. Why will u import cars and not pay duty?
Nobody will seize ur car if u pay ur duties.

I have never seen a more wicked govt
than this Buhari regime.

We are unable to produce enough food
to feed the population, but customs
seizes any food coming in.

We say we want to be a food exporting
country, but raise alarm when neighboring
countries come to load our farm produce
to take out.

The Agric minister is an incompetent
French graduate who confuses ignorant
people with fake statistics. His fake theories
including Ibe Kachikwu's nonsense policies
are responsible for the terrible hunger &
inflation that have become normal things
under this clueless regime.

This govt is full of deadwood Ministers who
have no idea of what to do.

Can anybody name any positives that
this govt has brought to their lives?

All they do is to chase moving shadows.

All the corrupt bigwigs of GEJ regime are
walking about freely & enjoying their loot.

Issokay.... 2019!!
illiteracy

you think the turkey coming in that has been preserved with formalin is good for your health?

or is it OK for criminals like you to smuggle cars in without paying duty on them?

so the government should allow foreign rice to flood the market at a time we are trying to encourage local production?

your ignorance is follow come. not even a miracle can separate you from it

I hope to have a customs babe, don't ask me why, go figure grin
@the poster above me, all those stuffs are kept in tthe warehouse for a determined period of time (depending on their perishability). Once that time elapses and no one comes up to claim it, the stuffs are auctioned at ridiculously low prices, while the minor stuffs are distributed among themselves (before they are destroyed -for the contraband stuffs sha).
Now you know why i want a customs babe grin

U think they will ever auction these jeeps that am seeing? If u believe tht, then u can believe that my dead grand ma was a vigin b4 she died. THE LAST auction they did only featured about 100 non usable cars, of all the cars they been seizing since God knows when
Re: Customs Seizes Vehicles, Bullet Proof Jeeps (Photos) by deenee: 6:24pm On Dec 08, 2017
For the dullards in the house know this; the fact that the cars have been seized don't mean that they have been forfeited by the owners. Customs will usually ask the owners to come and pay the right duties after which the seized items are returned. Same for rice.

The thing is a lot of people like to cut corners and prefer to smuggle rather than pay and clear through the normal routes so they can make more profits.

A lot of the bullet proof cars seized in the past have been released to the owners after paying the right duties for clearance.

A bag of foreign rice is 7k-8k @ Idi Iroko but once it crosses the border it's almost three times the price. People are just plain greedy and yet we will blame Buhari

You are sooohhh brain dead from

They bamboozle ppl like you through
scare tactics.

Last year, they confused you with "plastic rice",
this year, it is formalin chicken. How many
people have you heard of that died from

You are limited in education & therefore
unable to understand the dynamics of

You cannot fathom that Nigeria is an
attractive smugglers destination, because
bad govt policies make our production costs
so high that imported goods still land our
markets cheaper than own.

You do not grow an economy by creating a vacuum.

I should not waste more energy & data
educating you. I'm not your father.

That's the point broh, the public auction which you see advertised on the pages of newspapers are just to fulfil the public procurement (and disposal) act.
They have already shared the choice vehicles and gadgets among tthemselves by way of private auction. A 60mill bullet proof jeep would be 'given away ' for 1mill. Tell me something broh.
Its only rarely, when the seized vehicles belong to ogas at the top like Saraki and his croonies that they only display it among the seized vehicles, it stays as exhibit for about 2wks , then they cut a deal with the oga at the top to get back his vehicle. If you're looking for ccorruption, don't look further than the customs. Yes, even with Alli there, they are still fvcking corrupt.

ignoramus. keep making a fool of yourself. so you grow an economy by importing everything including the ones you produce right?

you don't even know basic economics.

how do you expect the government to sit by and watch people bring him turkey preserved with formalin (note that formalin is meant for the preservation of dead bodies at movies)? are we not producing rice and palm oil? so where's your so called vacuum?

so you grow an economy by allowing people to snuggle in cars and other products without paying duty? read the article again. it clearly states that the import duty on imported rice is 60%. so no one is stopping you from importing. pay your duty and don't smuggle.

thieves like you prefer to smuggle just because you want to make money and not pay duty. yet you turn around and accuse the government f being wicked

we can't keep killing our farmers because we want to eat foreign rice when rice mills are already opening all over the country.

do yourself a favour and keep shut
