Dear Mallam,

As a Muslim, we are not allowed to celebrate Kufr(Disbelief) in any way. We are permitted to eat food from the Christians if it's naming, wedding, etc. But on their festivals like Christmas or new year, we do not eat their food or even greet them in any way. We do not support them in any way. Why this? Because they are celebrating birthday and birthdays is not part of a Muslim's celebration. Because they are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ who they call son of God. Celebrating with them means you agree with them on their Kufr.

Pastor Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry said:

“We don’t celebrate Christmas. It actually came from idolatrous background. That is why you don’t hear us sing what they call Christmas carol. Never! ... When you find anybody coming in, or any leader, trying to introduce the idolatry of mystery Babylon that they call Christmas, and you want to bring all the Christmas carol saying that is the day that Jesus was born, and you don’t find that in the Acts of the Apostles or in the early church, then you don’t find that in the church either. If you don’t know that before, now you know.”

So if this christian leader agrees without being ashamed that Christmas is idolatrous, wetin concern us Muslims?

Jazak Allah khaira

You've just said it all

You can eat from Christians either wedding or another ceremony apart from Christmas

They should just quote where it is in the Bible about celebrating Xmas

Una like religion argument sha. The Christmas food especially the meat was not use for any sacrifices whatsoever, unlike the ram meat on sallah day. The Christmas food is a food prepared to celebrate Jesus birthday. Like your dad is celebrating birthday, and you cook and invite people to come eat. So my dear ruggedmalam if your neighbor bring rice for Christmas chop am oh! not talk say I no tell you. Make hunger do you strong thing cos say na your opposite religion food.

Show me the verse in Bible where you were told to celebrate Xmas

It is like asking if it is a sin for a christain to accept Sallah meat given to him or her by a Moslem friend or neighbour.

I grew up eating the sallah meat our neighbour Baba Suweba who is from Sokoto have sent to our home every Sallah. When we did slaughter goat for our own religious festivities he and his family partook in it and it made none of us look less before God who created all.
Cos they are ignorant of their religion

My peeps, see ehn, I have xtian uncles and aunties, they do come to celebrate sallah with us and chill together, merry, wine and dine without issues.
During xmas period, we return the favour and merry with them. We don't let religion come between us at all. It came to a time my dad wanna be acting like a fanatic and tried to stop us all from eat xmas food, buh my mum explained the consequences of such to him and e reluctantly agreed. No matter what, i will never cease from eating christmas food.

Assuming i am at that kind of company, i would let my position know and i would rather tell them what they should be giving me should be called year end gift or holiday gift as we have nothing to do with Xmas.

Being silent today on religious issues is what has taken us to this state.

Re: Are Muslims Allowed To Eat Christmas Food? by pwetie: 10:06pm On Dec 22, 2017
Are muslims allowed to eat christmas food? Muslims can eat christian foods, but shouldn't accept christmas food. And shouldn't involve in christmas gifts or greetings. Because christmas itself is pure idolatory. Its origin and everything about it, is clear idol worship. Christmas, new year, easter are more like refurbished idol worship, all dates back to the roman/greek/babylon festivals used to honor their gods. Accepting food during christmas is more like you have consented to them unknowingly or knowingly committing idolatry.

Our day of celebration is authentic and we have the date established in the Sunnah. Our Prophet practised Eid and this is our example.

Where is the date for Christmas in the Bible? Did Jesus celebrate or told you to celebrate Christmas? or did Paul told you to celebrate Christmas?

Christmas is pagan! We Muslims are running from disbelief!

Actually, birthday celebrations is not part of a Muslim's celebration. Celebrating the birthday of someone who has died doesn't make sense don't you think?

In short, those Muslims, however many they are, are mistaken.

Birthday celebrations is simply out of Islam and we call it innovation if people think they can get rewarded by celebrating the birthday of the Prophet.

We don't need to celebrate his birthday, we only need to follow him sincerely!

I know Christians do, to celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus, many use the time to get together with their families and friends.

And the new year, you refuse to celebrate it too because it's is only Christians that are happy to see the see the new year?

Oga Christians celebrate the birth of Christ Jesus December 25th, its a day they choose to remember his birth.
To the other bros talking about celebrating the birth of one who is dead, Christ Jesus died and Resurrected the third day.
The celebration of the resurrection is during easter.

If your neighbor celebrates the season with you, it simply out of love. He didn't sacrifice any ram, or chicken...... It is just like a normal celebration of life, it is still the same food prepared in the kitchen, so stop looking for bible verse.
Even easter wasn't celebrated in the bible, it is still same remembrance of the resurrection of Christ Jesus.

The ones being celebrated by Muslims, if we go further, it is an unending argument as to who Abraham was to sacrifice.

But then, I see you as a human being, before religion divided us.
If you are celebrating, I celebrate with you, whether you are a Christian or Muslim.

If I refuse to celebrate with you, it changes nothing, it doesn't give me a sure hope of God's kingdom, and doesn't make me holier than thou.
In fact, it doesn't change the public holiday given, it will only make me frown at those celebrating, making me feel I am more righteous, instead of having a merry time with my family and friends.

So it's your choice not to celebrate if you refuse, but the world celebrates the moment, shikena.

We don't need to celebrate his birthday

The first question is the reason why they Christians are celebrating the birth of Christ Jesus, he is alive, believe it or not, it doesn't change the fact he is alive.

The second, many want to align their celebration of Prophet Muhammad too.

Then your concluding part, ends it, as there is no need to even celebrate.

If you don't feel like celebrating Christmas, just celebrate your fellow brethren, celebrate the fact you are alive, celebrate with your family and friends.

We still have to sight the moon before we start the fast. If the cloud covers the moon then we count to 30 days. We do not specifically follow the predicted date.

We are not fighting the Christians, it's just that we refuse to go with the flow.
