These guys have not revealed all they know. Hacking an account is way more complex than that. The police should borrow the criminals a sim card and let them demonstrate it for us to have the truth.

What about the PIN?
So many online site don't require pin. All they need is an OTP number that will be sent to your phone. And since your phone is with them... That's d end.

I thought CBN has written a policy banning contract staff from working in such sensitive departments like card services.

That bank must be sanctioned for exposing their customers to fraudsters.
It is the banks involved that has the highest blame for their loose control system.
The criminals only capitalized on the lapses.

Doesn't matter whether you have your account details on phone or not, without the conniving of an insider banker, no body can do anything with just your account details or BVN

Thank you ...I come dey wonder ..and police bought this hook line and sinker..
Banks better start sensitization on this .CBN beat sanction banks to do so else this. Will result into mistrust and massive protest as well as accusations

You're actually wrong. With Access Bank, all you need is the last 4digits of your BVN in order to make a transfer with your sim. So they are 100% right. I suspect the bank they are referring to is Access or Diamond bank. They are the ones using that short code
Access bank Joor! I just confirmed by dialling the codes stated

WHAT IS BITCOIN?

*IT'S CALLED MONKEY BUSINESS*

A long time ago in a village far far away.......A lot of monkeys lived near the village.

One day a merchant came to the village to buy these monkeys!

He announced that he will buy the monkeys @ $100 each.

The villagers thought that this man is mad.

They thought how can somebody buy stray monkeys at $100 each?

Still, some people caught some monkeys and gave it to this merchant and he gave $100 for each monkey.

This news spread like wildfire and people caught monkeys and sold it to the merchant.

After a few days, the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys @ 200 each.

The lazy villagers also ran around to catch the remaining monkeys!

They sold the remaining monkeys @ 200 each.

Then the merchant announced that he will buy monkeys @ 500 each!

The villagers start to lose sleep! ... They caught six or seven monkeys, which was all that was left and got 500 each.

The villagers were waiting anxiously for the next announcement.

Then the merchant announced that he is going home for a week. And when he returns, he will buy monkeys @ 1000 each!

He asked his employee to take care of the monkeys he bought. He was alone taking care of all the monkeys in a cage.

The merchant went home.

The villagers were very sad as there were no more monkeys left for them to sell it at $1000 each.☹

Then the employee told them that he will sell some monkeys @ 700 each secretly.

This news spread like fire. Since the merchant buys monkey @ 1000 each, there is a 300 profit for each monkey.

The next day, villagers made a queue near the monkey cage.

The employee sold all the monkeys at 700 each. The rich bought monkeys in big lots. The poor borrowed money from money lenders and also bought monkeys!

The villagers took care of their monkeys & waited for the merchant to return.

the Nigerian police up till tomorrow are just foolish people and are only interested in money..

They should have really harnessed the intelligence of the criminals to really get to know the working knowledge of how they hack.. The softwares they use and also the devices..

Banks like GTB no longer require your last card digits, you need a separate security pin which cannot be gotten by dialing any ussd
GTB wouldn't require last 4 digit if only you're buying for the same number registered. It would ask if you're recharging a different number.

Before OTP, there is a need to provide your atm card details. So, without atm card details, there can't be any talk of OTP.

It is very very possible as long as it's the sim card/line your bank sends you notification. Immediately I saw how easy it was I had to start using PIN codes on all my lines. Because ones your phone is stolen the next thing for the thief is to switch it off and on switch on it would ask for the pin code.

na wa for some people... You didn't see the part that said those criminals have an insider that works in card services department of a bank. Every detail was gotten through that person.

Moreover, if one get robbed of his phone and ATM card at a spot, what else is remaining.
