100% following your question '' an European school, GPA is only an aspect of admission.

Hello

Lagosismyhome, Twoods, bigfracis21 and femi312
Am sorry have been disturbing you for a while now... cheesy

Please I have interest in Texas A&M university and being a computer lover (Don't like Math, so computer science is a no go area) I was looking for something like Cyber Security, Information and Communication science or Technology, and Telecommunication Science but couldn't get any of those.

But seeing this course

Computer Information system

I was very happy but on viewing it I saw it's issuing a business degree (BSS)

Can I as a science student apply for this course and be offered?
Although it's SAT that's required not GMAT

Here is the link please

Guys I’m so heartbroken right now. I wrote GRE this month and I scored a miserly 301. All the schools I’d love to attend, I don’t believe I even have a chance. I was aiming for 320 but see what I’m left with. It’s not as if I didn’t study, God knows I did although I could have tried a bit harder but even though, I was still left utterly disappointed. The GRE Math questions totally shocked me, I must confess. They weren’t what I was expecting. I was confident that I’d do pretty well in the math section but I ended up scoring a miserable 149. This is soooo bad. The questions were much more tougher than I anticipated and I struggled to solve most of them. I used ETS, Magoosh and Manhattan to study and the questions there were pretty easy for me. I was really demoralized during the exams and I think that affected my performance greatly. This sunk me into a depression for the greater part of this month but thank God I’ve recovered. I’m determined to write again first week of April and I’m ready to put in my all to get a good score this time. I thought I had it covered, I thought I could handle it but apparently it’s not so. Guys please what do I do? I want to get at least 315 on my next exams. How do I go about it and what materials do I use as I’ve been deceiving myself all these while. Where can I ey authentic GRE past questions? Where do I need to focus on? How do I go about this? It’s not as if I’m not smart, I know I can do this. Or do I just try GMAT? But I’m more familiar with GRE. Your inputs would be hugely appreciated. I must conquer GRE.

Congrats. You have really good schools on that list but I am not surprised.

I will tell you something though, funding for MSc is hard and it got harder with funding cuts from the government so prepare your mind to really fight and maybe be disappointed if you do not get funded for MSc.

If you get a chance to talk to PIs, pitch PhD dreams to them as those are the only cadre of people to still benefit from the reduced financial grant from the government. Of course, MSc students still do get funded but that number is getting far reduced.

As per Skype interview, the PI is not trying to rate your intelligence. He pretty much got that from your GPA..Test scores and supporting documents. All he would care about is to see if your research experiences match what he is looking out for in research students or if you have something unique that you can bring to his group.

So don't expect him to say "define this, define that". Far from it. He will ask about the research you did, things you figured out and skillsets you possess (like if you are a programmer, or an analyst etc). I don't think you have anything to worry about since I know you know your stuff very well.

Just set a good time, get quality internet service, understand your CV well and talk freely. He is a professional colleague not a Mafioso so treat him as such. In fact, talk to him like you would your age mate even if you should not forget the home training we have received from Nigeria. It will go well.

Cheers.

I got into University of Florida (direct PhD) few days ago, still awaiting fellowship result in couple of weeks. I discussed with a supervisor before applying for admission, she asked me to select her as my advisor... which I actually did during application. Buh when I got the admission letter, they've changed my advisor to another person...who happens to be a senior colleague to the former advisor and he's even the PhD program coordinator for the program. I contacted him and we discuss about funding... he asked me to get back to him in couple of weeks for the fellowship result.

Hoping and praying sha...
Thanks Scholastica16, Ponpon, annexplus, and others

Thou I v fully funded direct PhD in HK already, buh US is kinda better.

Congratulations. UF is a very good school in Gainesville, Florida with usually Clement weather. I hear the women there are very pretty (so they can admire your brilliance grin ).

Uncle, did you not read the comment from YoungTesla, when he said that everything has been resolved? or do you have a personal agenda?
I'd prefer the former because its excusable, as for the later uncle apply wisdom.

Now,to your comments, lets say i registered 5 seconds ago (I SEE YOU ANCIENT OF DAYS), and so what? You just said "the mafit people" which means this gospel you've been hearing about mafit isn't new, which means it is been tested and trusted by many even before you and I.
Yes, mafit has been trying too much, and mafit has impressed, and i"m sure you know its 100% real.
like i said, i"m taking my lectures there, so no wahala you can call me "mafit people".....who are you? (shaa remember the rules of no adverts..*winks)

I don't know what exactly his problem is. The other day he was attacking me cos I shared my testimony about MAFIT. Is the purpose of this forum not to help people with useful info? Afterall it was even Lagosismyhome that recommended MAFIT to me. I had no idea who they were prior to that time. Please help me inform him that in every business there is something called 'market share' and he who offers the greatest value for money has the highest share of customers, not he who maligns other people's services...rubbish!!!

Congrats bro.For the Skype interview, check the Professor's recent research papers and his lab's website. He won't ask anything extremely technical. Just check out methods and research tools he has used to conduct research. He will mostly likely be asking you questions to see if you are a conversant with all you will need to work with him. You should be fine. Cheers.
