You hit da nail on da head! sad I made the mistake of switching from Samsung to Infinix last year, and I have regretted it ever since then. My Infinix phone bought from a reputable store, was plagued with the same problems you mentioned, barely 5 months after I started using it. undecided I would never recommend Infinix to anybody...their after-sales service offered through Carlcare in Lagos, is nothing but pure rubbbish! angry

Thank you for confirming this. So the celebrators of this crap should expect nothing less in 5months grin

The "secured" faceID has been hacked a couple of times

Nothing is unhackable bro. Yes it has been spoofed but it's still the most secure face id on a mobile phone. OnePlus 5t basically uses only the front camera that is why it is very fast.

Some of the processes in which it was hacked means the term secure shouldn't be used for it.

It's secure, deal with it!

Face ID can be spoofed one time in hundreds of thousands of tries. Dude, that's pretty, pretty, secure! Why else do you even think it's been spoofed only twice (once, technically, since the one that happened on stage wasn't that convincing a spoof)ever since it got released??

By the way, It seems you don't understand what security means in the mobile world.

Security, in the mobile world (and the tech world as a whole) doesn't mean impenetrability. Security means the impracticability of trying to penetrate illegally.

The 256 bit encryption, for example, is on a whole different level of safe, wanna know why?

it's not because it's 'unhackable', it's because it's impractical to hack! Heck, some of those encryptions would take thousands of years (or some non existent beastly computers) to hack through, who has that time

Face ID is very very secure, if done properly.

You wrote plenty grammar and you must have believed the tales you heard during the launch of the device

FaceID has been hacked 3-4 since its release.

Alright, Google Dude, I don't do stuff that way, considering how much junk and conspiracy theories you could find on just one Google search results page.

When you seek information, you really have to pay attention to details. You "deep search", not just feed off the very first search results page you come across! there are conspiracy theories everywhere!

At this point, I don't even think it matters if Face ID was hacked once, twice, thrice.

What matters is you understand what Security really means.

It was hacked yes, many times? Nope. It was made to look like a big deal because it's an apple peoduct and was supposed to be advanced security feature which it still is. OnePlus 5t face unlock has been spoofed many times but nobody cares as it also has a fingerprint sensor.

Please do not fall into Apple hype
The only thing apple added in their iPhone X that was new was animoji

Even that 3d sensor is from Microsoft Kinect...

Face ID is reputable but not as secure as a fingerprint.... Apple hyped 1 in a million

Days later it was hacked by many

The problem I have is apple is they hype things making people think it was them that made it

Even. The notch in iPhone x it was LG which started the notch before essential phone

In summary the face Id may be secure but do not fall into apple false hype

Bro, because it is an iPhone, once face Id gets spoofed just 1 time they will blow everything up, the whole media will make a bid meal of it. But when OnePlus 5t face unlock was spoofed many times nobody cares. In fact nobody even cares to try and hack any other phone facial id. U know why? Because it doesn't attract any attention even when they succeed

Okay, I won't fall for Apple's Hype

But how do you want me NOT to believe in a technology that scans 30,000 data points on your face and stores them in the Secure Enclave, and then scan variable changes such as pimples, wrinkles, scars in such a way that it sum up and averages these data points so as it gets better the more you use it?

Nope. Fingerprint Scanner is NOT more secure than Face ID, and Nope. Face ID has NOT been hacked by many.

Bro! In the mobile world, Better is he that perfects a function than he that creates it! Between you and I, no one cares if Kinect brought the 3D sensor (Kinect is dead, by the way), all everyone cares is that person that made it mainstream!

Enough with the balderdash, young man.

Go read on the reasons why the Face ID was maneuvered. You have Google but you instead chose to be ignorant. Spoiler alert, Face ID wasn't well set up on those phones.

Hacked by many? Who's this guy? Face ID is more accurate than fingerprint or iris scanner. You think it's to use someone's finger to unlock a phone while sleeping is what we're talking about? Or lift a print from a mug? If you haven't used the iPhone X Face ID, enter a store and see how good it is.

Apple didn't invent the notch I agree but they are the leading power consumer. Some of their implemented features become popular and get adopted by other OEMs including Samsung. Which phone brand will follow Essential and Sharp to do notch?

It's after Apple did, other brands went crazy with the concept. Same as Touch ID, dual cameras, headphone jack removal, etc...

May I ask the phone experts. How does this infinix compare with HTC M9, or M10. Which is better. I intend to change my HTC M8.

Comparing OnePlus 5t face unlock to Apple's face id is just like convenience vs security. One plus 5t face unlock is not secure even OnePlus said it themselves that it's just an additional security. Yes it's very fast but that's because it just scans the face using only the front facing camera. It can easily be spoofed unlike the iPhone x that uses series of sensors to scan the eyes. Face id is not slow per say, just that it requires swiping after unlocking, not as fast as oneplus 5t though.

U also know OnePlus 5t face unlock is almost useless in low light while face id still works.

And where have I ever said nothing is comparable to Apple? They make good products but have their flaws and are too arrogant.

I was comparing speed of the face unlock for good measure. Not the security behind them.

henry007:
Here's all you need to know about the Infinix S3.

And a really quick video of how to set up Face ID on the Infinix S3 and a quick speed comparison with the Face ID on the iPhone X.

Which do you think would win?

He might be disappointed. Samsung doesn't push updates for their budget devices frequently while with Xiaomi, there are regular updates and one "stable" update would could ruin his entire experience.

FaceID is not impractical or may be update fixed the vulnerability.

You seemed too confident quoting people who disagree with Apple's implementation of the Faceid.
We know that it's secure but a handful of videos r available to show that it is hackable. Some security firms can do that for u for a few buck.
Apple once said that it's 1 out of a billion but today, Asians with similar looks can unlock the damn thing.

Am enjoying every known tech today. Enjoy it also and stop making ur preference obvious.
