Ebuehi was left out of the ADO team this week due to injury. My man has not fully recovered from his injury. This supports the view that he was not 100% during international week.
i hope this will not be a long term thing oo..groin injury is not that easy to get over with

There is one thing that keep on baffling me here, double standard, just checked Umar Sadiq professional record so far, really surprised that some believe he has something to offer than Ideye and funny enough better than Ighalo?fallacies

Cyril Dessers started his professional career in Belgium with a lowly club where he had good youth football before moving to Lokeren with 25 appearance with no goal for two season and moved to Nec breda in dutch division two with awesome performance and snapped up by Utrecht, but so far couldn't tie a regular shirt though 7 goals in 17 appearance but some believe he is the answer,no issue he can be a good option.

But telling me Ajagun at 25 has passed his prime but Dessers at 25 still has a lot to offer, why double standard in passing comments on our bona fide players who are doing well.

Sir, CYRIL DESSERS IS 23 not 25. It is his real age. We both know Ajagun is not 25 Years. ....CYRIL DESSERS!!!!

He has always taken on defenders, that is his style.. This boy is 21 so he is still improving..

He has barely had opportunities. None of those 7 games in Bologna were up to 90 mins. He was brought on as a sub for each of those games. Sometimes a player needs a run of games to show their ability.

He has 4 goals and 3 assists in 8 games so far in Breda and been influential in winning dangerous set-pieces for his team.

That said, the WC might be too close but i certainly see Umar as the future number 9 amongst all the other prospects.

Yes bro I know he didn't have much game time I didn't even expect goals from him, umar sadiq for the future Yes but for the World Cup NO

Thank you,I don't know why we keep on deceiving ourselves cos i don't see any striker out there better than Nacho and Ighalo for now but instead for us to address the main issue which is our midfield we keep on hammering our strikers, forgetting that what happened against Poland and Serbia happened against South Africa and someone was missing which is Mikel and instead of addressing the issue we are suggesting strikers and where are the strikers?
It was BascoVanVeli that put it well: to play striker now for nigeria is to suffer. Put Rashidi in this team(without Mikel) he would flop, put Aiyegbeni he will flop, put Aghahowa he would flop, put C. Ronaldo, Suarez of Barca they will flop.

Our attackers might not be sharp but how can we blame them when the midfield is knock out? Car without engine. Go move am and see if you will not suffer. It doesn't matter whether the car is a benz or hummer or ford, or Lamborghini or whether it's a jalopy or rickshaw, once there's no engine, you are on your own. That's how bad we look without Mikel and like edi said it's terribly bad.

This is not true..

Did you see the kinds of runs Yekini made? You do not need a great midfield wizard to find him.. Yekini did not always have a great midfield. Friday Ekpo and Oliha were more of the hardworking types. Our forward line right now is fairly static and does not offer those options. How many times do you see runs behind the defence? Look at cristiano's first goal against Juve, did you see his run to the near post.. The movement is lacking. It is those little things that create opportunities. Put better movement and the midfield does not have to be great as the striker is giving them a plethora of options.

Joel Obi stats vs Inter

95% pass accuracy
5 tackles won
3 clearances
2 interceptions

Solid performance, we need him to transfer this kind of performance to the super eagles because his friendly performances was not good enough.

Umar name popped up because some feel we need someone with hold up play correct??
I'm sorry if I'm a coach, the only reason I'd pick him over Ideye at the moment is that he has a greater upside. If we were to pick who I expect to perform better in a tournament, I'd pick Ideye no doubt.
Ideye is more similar to Deeney than Ighalo in my honest opinion. Ideye can hold the ball up better than Ighalo. Both can play together.

We are not just talking of hold up play, we are talking about an extra striker that would add something different to the team this current team doesn't possess...Umar has that unpredictability and dynamism about him...Ideye doesn't have this..in fact ideye and Ighalo have similar skill set except Ighalo is more skillful than him..Umar is a totally diff guy with his style of play..

Is this a joke? Tunisia 94, most of our goals came from Oliseh's long ball including the winning goal in the final.. He was a great passer.

Sir i disagree,I watched Yekini from 1983 till he left eagles in 1998 and using Ekpo and Oliha to butress your point on Yekini not acceptable to me.

Rashidi Yekini at 1984 Afcon had Muda Lawal,Ademola Adeshina and Henry Nwosu with Humphrey Edobor doing it for him.

In the mid 80s Samson Siasia came into the scene and contributed a lot to Yekini goal prowess with Ademola Adeshina and Henry Nwosu in the midfield with assistance from Folorunsho Okenla,Wole Odegbami,Sam Okwaraji,Bunmi Adigun,Augustine Igbinabaro especially during qualifier for Seoul 88 and Maroc 88 and proper tournament.

In the 90s when Yekini had glorious career, players like Daniel Amokachie, Finidi George,Emma Amuneke,Austin Okocha and Sunday Oliseh contributed immensely to Yekini rise.

Rashidi Yekini had the best of midfielders in the 80s and 90s even Ekpo and Oliha are not mediocre as you portrayed it,pls try and watch Ekpo against Senegal at Senegal 92.

Truly Yekini was a very prolific goalscorer who has the witt and power to outpace any defenders and very good in converting half chances and Ighalo goal against Cameroon remind me of great Yekini.

Sir the solutions is given Ebere Eze,Ajagun,Kelechi Nwakili, Alhassan Muzzam chance to slug it out and complement Mikel in the team instead of all theses DMs we are carrying about, except this is done our strikers we continue to struggle.

Chief he does take on defenders in seria A, that is his style of play..he just didn't get enough minutes to showcase himself plus the rustiness of sitting on the bench affects a player confidence...that confidence is what he is gaining back at eredivise since he is getting more minute..

When Roma played against Psg in the friendly, he was taking on their defenders like crazy..watch the highlight again..this were champion league defenders ooo..I was in the stadium that day, I was surprised he had that kind of flair..this were psg first team defenders ooo..I was even surprised when I saw those defenders playing in champions league, at that time the only psg defender I recognised then was thiago silva and kurzawa..in fact Dani alves played on that day too..please watch the highlight again..

The point I'm trying to make is he is not afraid of any defender, that has his style, he has a directness about him..

My point is he doesn't take on defenders in Seria A the way he is doing it in Eredivise. Why?

CAF and Nigerians brought up this issue. I think only Nigerians must have voted for Moses in the polls. No sane human being would ever compare both as Salah is miles/kilometers ahead

We should also remember that Salah flopped in the same EPL with Chelsea the first time he came and you can't tell me Salah was better than Victor Moses then. Can you?

I did not label Ekpo and Oliha as 'mediocre' . They were more of the hardworking type of midfielders not creators per se. We still got goals in spite of that. That does not make them mediocre.

Thankfully, you acknowledged his ability to convert half chances to goals. It is something we lack in our team.

A prime and on form Yekini will still score in this team because his movement was good, created spaces for himself and could run with the ball if he needed to.

Yes, we need creative players or we need to learn to play to the strengths of our current attackers. We do not cross the ball enough from the wings.
