Good to hear you have cleared your debt however from how you have described these card trips i strongly suspect a case of card fraud here whereby someone else's card is being used to make the payments possibly without the person's knowledge. How many people would leave the meter running on a daily basis only to be relaxing and drinking beer...anyway no fault or liability can be traced to you kind off except if taxify want to investigate why you are the only one always picking them up if maybe the card owner finally reports assuming it is card fraud.
Me self reason m, for dem guys to be relaxed like it ain’t money that’s reading from the card, it’s damn suspicious. Buh it’s not my business sha.

Let me share a scary story....

Went to ladipo market at about 5pm, Bought some tyres, replaced the Windshield of my kia rio was done by 7pm. Drove to Ikoyi, turned on app, first 3 trips,
very pleasurable 4th trip took me 3km to my home. Dropped the young man off, forgot to turn off app.

1km to home, request entered, I was greedy, and accepted. 11:47pm called rider asked for destination, female voice said Allen, in my mind, 5km trip I will still make it back around 12;15am so I drove to location.

Immediately I entered the street, I could smell an ambush, without stopping, I called rider, female voice gave description to building with a redeemed church at the Base, I saw building, passed it, went 7buildings away and turned. Parked in the center of the road, left lights on, and called rider again, I said I was parked right in front of her building. Nah so 4bois appear shirtless with boxers come de find driver cheesy I saw them from afar and was sure it was a setup.

I started driving slow and steady, but them wan use chest block road, well... me I can't shout I drove thru them, the gave. Way and started pursuing me cheesy , I narrowed the playing field by driving close to one side of the gutter, so the guys on the left gave up the chase and went behind, I then switched to the right, bois there nearly enter gutter. By then I was on the main road.

Drove off turned off app reported to uber.

You can save the number for ref in future.

I feel guys should be careful with these night rides.. There's always a tomorrow to make more money.. Stop risking Ur lives for night rides.
No matter how much u make a day, it won't still settle all Ur problems in life.
It's only a dead man that is free from problems or meeting targets.

. It's so easy for anyone to pick any Sim and register within 2 minutes, request via his girlfriend's voice, dress responsible like the husband and in d middle of the journey point a gun at u..

Thank God for Ur life @gazzuzz..

Gazzuz, if you have pepper spray, dagger or axe in your car for self defense, the question is, how do you convince the police In a stop and search situation...

Glad you followed your instinct and that lady should be investigated cuz I believe it isn't her first time. Uber should check all her trips and also call the drivers, the drivers may think it was a robbery not knowing it was a set up.

Talking about hybrid cars, those with experience should please share, we all know it's super fuel efficient but what about maintenance, how much for battery/charging components, do we have competent mechs to handle it, etc...
Re: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by bronks9174: 3:00pm On Apr 17, 2018
Guys pls does the fact that you frequently cancel trip request after hearing unfavorable destination or ignore the riders call to make them cancel themselves affect your ratings??

I met them just as we are being requested.
They never looked like hungry people that would fight u over change.

I gave them best service than any driver they have met, I live around.

It was never daily Uncle strongly suspect

But they would prefer taxify to do the trip calculation.

Nothing prevents me from requesting we go offline but knowing how much I ow taxify I would prefer card as they also prefer that means too.

My dear we do wait for people that went for shopping. Those that went for night clubs, those that went for churches. Our responsibility is to deliver service. When u render a wonderful service customers would want to use u again.

I have rode a woman the whole day from children going to school, she went to market, went to bank and back home.
Likewise a contactor.

U may not do it but people do. After all the charges when u are not moving is minimal compare to when you are in motion

Halo, guys

Am a long time NL member but this is my first time posting in this thread.

Wanna ask you guys which is better: give your car to driver who is already an uber/taxify driver or to a new driver assuming you can tolerably vouch for him. Also, does rating of a driver really matter?

I know that getting a level headed driver is one of the most critical gates in this business, and I wanna do it well.

Will appreciate as many responses as possible.

Thanks

I made a comment in one direction..you are going in a totally different direction.I never said you should not patronize people who leave the card running while you are waiting for them we all like dem short waits but long trips but from my experience and based on how you explained how these guys allow you run the meter "everyday" I am at least 70% certain their card use is fraudulent because any sensible person after the first day would negotiate with you rather than leave the trip running but like ifeez said wetin consign
me for dia...I don comot.....

Both gat it's pros and cons, just go with your instinct.

The guys are yahoo guys. Do you need a soothsayer to tell you.

They steal the credit card details of whites and use it to shop extravagantly.

when it comes to Uber.personal experience is the best teacher.when you have experienced it first hand yourself, no driver will come and be telling you stories that touch.
