It's simple, the average Yoruba boy must go to school before learning a trade. The parents and even the community will not allow most boys to abandon school without fierce resistance and shaming. This is the reason why you have more educated Yorubas than any other tribe in Nigeria but this comes at a cost of not actively participating in trades hence why Yorubas are more likely to travel out, settle for a desk job or even stay at home depending on inheritance. Our boys are theoretical while Igbo and Hausa boys are practical, each with its own benefits and disadvantages!
