The Federal Government said the Tripartite Committee on the National Minimum Wage would conclude its negotiation before the expiration of the 14-day ultimatum issued by the Nigeria Labour Congress.

The organised labour had on Sept. 12 issued a 14-day ultimatum that would expire on Sept. 25 to the Federal Government for the committee to reconvene and complete it assignment.

Labour also said it would commence nationwide strike immediately after the expiration of its 14 days ultimatum if their demand was not met.

Ms Amal Pepple, Chairman of the committee gave the assurance while speaking in Abuja yesterday.

What good plan are you talking about bro?
For a committed set up in March 2017 to not have reach an agreement over just a figure 18 months after says a lot about how well meaning the govt is.
When Jonathan increased minimum wage in 2011, there wasn't this much stress, in fact many people didn't even know about it till the day it was announced.
This is a minimum wage that's supposed to have been reviewed in 2015 but three years after, we are still negotiating.

Increasing the minimum wage to such an incredible amount requires a lot of deliberation, considering the inescapable impact of such actions on the economy.

In 2011 Gej Increased it from 7500 to 18,000
We shouldn't compare with the almost 50k new Wage.

Also the FG must ensure all institutions are ready to comply.

If I were labour would be demanding for 200k minimum wage. The dunder head Daura dolt is desperate and knows an industrial action will sink his Lifeless soul further, hence, will meet their demands.
