Tonye, I trust you have been to Abuja. Not saying things are better but from the pictures of the roads I saw here, I don't really see anything special to what is in Abuja.

Too much of living in Lagos can also give bad image to Nigeria too. I have been to Lagos several times and the roads are so bad and poor that the picture that the op posted would look like a heavenly picture to most people.

I just want to be fair and objective, we have same road in Abuja as was posted by Op. I can agree with other things.
Bro you're reaching the ghetto parts of Lagos

Ordinary Shomolu sef has very good roads.

Very rich discussion. Arguably, we can say naija won't be great but when you look at how old Italy is and how far they've gone..you will understand we are not mate but that doesn't mean we shouldnt be OK atleast to a certain degree. So let's hope we get there some day, its not possible to meet up with them, we can only try

No doubt. Abuja has the best road network in the country. And we also have few states also coming up - The likes of Awka Ibom and Kano

Are Buhari and Atiku the only candidates here? We have the likes of Kingsley Moghalu, a Ph.D holder and former central bank deputy governor who was the brains behind the 2009 rescue of the banking sector. But for him, many Nigerians would have lost their life savings to the likes of Ibru, Atuche and Akingbola and the other thieving bastards preying on bank customers' funds.

There are also other cerebral candidates here. Sound intellectual guys who have what it takes to drive the country to the next level.

It is like APC and PDP has cast a spell on many Nigerians.
You shouldn't have replied the idiot

looter politicians pay people to hail them, this in turn creates a "chain reaction" such that when people see someone they know hailing the politician that person has a 50% chance of supporting that person...

It is called mental conditioning or training the brain...

It's also why the media was created... In order to sway public opinion in their favor...

black american society isn't messed up... don't be deceived by what you see on the media...

white people love to publicize the shortcomings of black people whether in Africa, Australia, America, Europe, Asia e.t.c...

they also publicize "celebrities" in order to groom the brain of black people to aspire to be like their "idols"...

So are those politicians whites or those who, out of their inherent flawed moral values, selfish orientation and low IQ recieve money and hail, whites?
Black Americans are exhibiting thesame things in USA supporting demented democrats which was the party of slavery for selfish welfare reasons and ignorance instead of Republicans who fought their fellow whites to free blacks. Maybe because horrible democrats represent horrible black values more. Lets talk of blacks in Africa first.

I don't need any media to tell me how terrible blacks are and can be to fellow blacks in their selfish ethnic or ego driven quest to be hailed or rich. Evil and evil men are everywhere but a society which eulogizes it gets messed by it becoming a culture.

go and read about "black wall street"...

in summary,
It was like a "chinatown" of black americans. but there was a rumor that a white woman was raped and killed in that place.. which led to white people rioting in that black wall street and burning black businesses and killing the black people in that place, but the black people defended themselves and preventing from getting worse then the U.S sent fighter jets and bombed the black wall street.

Imagine B:uhari sending the airforce to b:omb Igbo businesses because Igbos prevented H:ausas or F:ulanis from burning Igbo businesses....

This is out of point. Whites are not angels towards blacks - agreed. Are whites angels towards Asians? Yet Asians are doing well for themselves because they are good to atleast themselves.Hiroshima and Nagasaki wasn't in Africa. Did Asia remain messed up for that? Are blacks angels towards themselves? Big question cause thats what matters most and makes all the difference.

All you abusing Nigeria..are we all not the problem of this country? Nigeria is only a geographical location and the people make it what it it....the people are sad and thier mind dark, so is their environment. Everybody is only concern about his/her stomach and treat the Nigerian environment with reckless abandon.

So many of you that have been to this clean and develop countries will want to even sleep on their road because it is clean with less noise from horn from motorist unlike Nigeria and yes.. you admire their wonderful landscape, and clear waters..right?.of cos you will not even dare to defecate on it nor even throw trash on the street or outside your car because you know you will be penalized.

However coming back to Nigeria you will be the first person to throw trash on the street... jump the long line cue using your big man level to bribe the man in charge...and you expect Nigeria to change..who will change it? if not you and I!

Many Nigerians just enjoy the euphoria of traveling abroad just for the social importance that is tied to it in this sick society we leave in..nothing more. They are just like our politicians that only travel to this advance countries without any positive impact to their community and the society at large when they return. They only think about how important they are in the society and how much respect they can command.of cos they can go as far as declaring drinks at parties/bars for their friends that they just returned from yankee..

so oga ..op.. your write-up ,calls for a deep reflection about what we are and how we maltreat our environment, fellow citizens and our infrastructures...
I believe we are all struggling with the first stage of the Manslow theory of needs which include( Food, Shelter and Security) This hierarchy of need some how influences the behaviors of man. They can not think outside this box of survival until these needs are met.even the rich men are not exempted( from their antecedence ..they just want to acquire and acquire wealth till they drop dead either by hook or crook) nobody is concerned about the development of their street/community..

While I blame the government for not providing an enabling environment for the people to strive, the same blame goes to this same people who have come to accept corruption and mediocrity as a way of life.

Also the abuse of the environment by this same citizens who do not see any thing anything beyond only what they can eat is also something to talk about....the Nigerian society is sick, so are the leaders because they come from the same society. so we need to re-orientate our mind on how to start demanding for a society that we can live in with dignity in.

Same reason I keep saying with the fundamental orientation we have ,I can assure you that most of us will not see this country get better, maybe in the next 200 years things might change ,after all they say we should "never say never". Its not just the government, but the people as well.

Rome wasn't built in a day ,but they were laying the bricks everyday, the way I see it we have not even acquired to land here in Naija, not to talk of laying the foundation to start laying the bricks on.

Check out most of the massive projects in china that we all applaud, the plans were laid a decade ago and now we are seeing the results shape their economy, since we have not even started thinking of plans, not to talk of making the plans, it's hopeless to have hope for the next decade undecided

Stop giving yourself false hope

Any Nigerian that want a better life should hustle, pray to your God if u have any and wait patiently for time and nature to favor you to either make it here and send your children out of here or you run away from here before the doomsday catches up with you!

Prayer and fasting will NOT change Nigeria for the better. What we should pray for, we already have in abundance. Adequate natural resources, good weather, arable land, access to the sea etc. Nigeria will be great if Nigerians build Nigeria. We need t CREATE not just to procreate consume.

Sir, I put it to you to name 5 things Obj/Atiku achieved in their first 3 years that we can still see today and also what Jonathan/Sambo did so we can compare with that of Buhari/Osinbajo.

What statistics did you use to arrive at this? Pls let's start from seeing the statistics and I will show only one fact that this admin has borrowed more than what was borrowed in the 16 years of pdp government without any TANGIBLE infrastructure to commensurate with their borrow.
And I will gladly point to you that this is the most brazenly corrupt administration since am an adult in 2003,i will also show you that this government is the most tribalism government since the coming of democracy to nigeria, I will still pointedly show you how the chief marketer of our nation dubbed as the chief DE marketer..

Nigerians fret too much about Nigeria and the "black race".
Nigerians want Nigeria to develop at warp speed which is completely impossible.Do we know how old the nations of China,USA,Japan and France are?Argentina and Mexico are over 100years old yet they still have challenges worse than Nigeria. What had these nations i mentioned achieved when they were 60years old? They mention Singapore..how large is it?and what is the size of their human population?
I am now at peace because I know for sure,Nigeria will become a developed state in about the year 2150

Flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but by celestial forces above, as long as the status quo remains like this, it is not yet uhuru for Nigeria as a nation, 10 years is an understatement, we need a North Korean kind of leader or a Chinese kind of treatment to arrest and wipe out all those politicians that rendered Nigeria as a cesspit of poverty and darkness, all corrupt politicians from 1979 till date both civilian and military should be executed and all their assets confiscated, that will send a serious message to everyone in the country, corruption has killed the country, as long as we continue to tolerate corruption with kid gloves, forget it, we shall be on Nairaland in 2060 still talking about all this nonsense, if this is not done, Nigeria is doomed as a nation, case closed sad

Bro, I'm of the opinion that religion has done more harm than good to us.

People no longer want to work to fix their problems because one pastor has lied to them about a God of miracles that will fix all their problems, even the ones arising from laziness.

Even in MMA, the immigration officers are like vultures, both in looks and motives. I can't understand why blacks were created this way.

I always fantasize about our independence, how it would have been had the British stood their ground and refused to give it to us. If possible, by using brute force to crush all those so-called founding fathers. I bet you, we wouldn't be having it bad today
