I wrote something similar this morning:

Despite progress and milestones achieved by the Buhari administration:
implementation of useful programs i.e. BVN, IPPIS, TSA (of course initiated by the GEJ administration to check malfeasance across board; not implemented), etc., continuing the Agric drive, taking us out of an avoidable recession foisted on us by the past administration, completing/continuing projects abandoned by past administrations, social programs (some I don't really agree with), doing more than previous administrations in terms of infrastructure, Foreign reserves, FIRS, JAMB, etc. . . . despite all those, there's a huge feeling of resentment and lack in the land.

While the President has done very poorly with some of his utterances and his handling of the Fulani herdsmen issue (which is a huge shame), I would be dwelling more on where his shortcomings continuously hurt our pockets:

1. Exchange rates
The current exchange rates ultimately affects prices of commodities, from petroleum products to how much we pay to subsidize it, to house rents, food stuffs, transport, etc. The current rate could be better with the reserves we have and if some aspects of it were not marred in shadowy dealings (corruption).

Let's assume favourable exchange rates being what they are: not something you could directly doctor or make happen by fiat. And it is basically off the essence of this piece to go into details of the intricacies of that here.

How about number 2?

2. Salary non-increment.

If you can't help the exchange rates, how about increasing the wages of your workers since you do relatively earn considerably well above and beyond with the exchange rate in your favour (we're talking crude oil receipts in dollars)?

But you do expect your workers to continue battling everyday living expenses with the same meager wage they did when a dollar was N160 while you earn fat into government pockets at N305?

This is where PMB failed, he should have had this wrapped up since mid last year, the constitution supports him, the people would appreciate it (folks earning N18,000 would cope better with N27,000/N30,000, same for folks presently earning N90,000 who would now be earning say N140,000).
More sales for businesses too.

It will translate to higher tax income for the rejuvenated FIRS too.

If he had gotten these 2 aspects right, the populace's plight would have been highly reduced, and thus, less acrimony against him. All the good works he's tried to do with his limited health, old age, and education have been very wonderful, but a hungry man is an angry man.

P.S. Considering PMB's background growing up, education, his old age and health, he is actually punching way above his weight, few can do as much as he has done and continues to do if we had same pedigree and Achilles.

I wrote an article: PMB Vs Atiku Pros and Cons.
https://www.nairaland.com/5002332/buhari-vs-atiku-pros-cons

This is where we find ourselves as a country, sponsored by no other than OBJ, he rigged in Shagari in-lieu of a sage like Awolowo, Shagari's failures and inadequacies brought back the military on us: Buhari, IBB, Abacha (if only he had done the needful with OBJ) and the whole works: retrogress.

Same over-bearing old man brought upon us Yar'Adua (why didn't he support his deputy Aticou then if he so much believed in him . . . that was easier), even though he knew he was battling serious health issues, but he thought he had a stooge in Jonathan from whence he can still rule by proxy -- he chose a docile Jonathan over a vibrant Donald Duke.

Jonathan's ineptitude and cluelessness brought upon us the old cargo: Buhari (Buhari can't be Landlords & tenants association chairman in my hood, but I'll still choose him ahead of a character like Atiku).

OBJ is backing Atiku now, why? The answer is obvious.
And if we make the mistake, we will pay for it dearly.

We are a sorry nation, it goes no further than seeing agile and intellectual heavyweights like Osinbajo and Obi being deputies to soon to be octogenarians with lesser general qualifications.

I'm out.

Very objectively written. God bless you

President Buhari had many times during the 2015 election campaign vowed to declare his assets and make the report public. However, he is yet to release the full report of his asset declaration to the public months to the end of his administration. Asked during his first media chat on December 30, 2015, the president said he has declared his assets four times but declined when pressed to release the document to Premium Times which had earlier sent an FOI request to the Code of Conduct Bureau to make the report available to it. The CCB had responded that only the president could authorise the release of the report to the media.
Introduction of National Gender Policy and offer of 35 per cent appointment to women:
FAILED
President Buhari reneged on this promise early in the life of his administration by appointing only six out of the 36 ministers he used in forming his cabinet in November 2015. Today, with the exits of Mrs. Kemi Adeosun after she was busted for using a fake NYSC discharge certificate and Amina Alhassan, who left to contest election in Taraba State, Mr. Buhari has not deemed it fit to replace the two ministers with new ones. This perhaps underscores why he told journalists in Germany after a meeting with the country’s Chancellor, Angela Merkel, on October 14, 2016, “I don’t know which party my wife belongs to, but she belongs to my kitchen and my living room and the other room.” He was standing next to Mrs. Merkel, who frowned at the comment.

Go back to School and learn. Anyway, history was removed from the curriculum no wonder you don't know him. Let me educate you a bit about him.
1. He led the final battle that ended the civil war which OBJ took the glory.
2. He and Alabi Isama put their lives on the line for him to emerge as HOS after the death of Muritala. OBJ ran away.
3. He was chief of army Staff
4. He was among NADECO members who faced Abacha to bring back civilian rule.
5. He has been fighting for Nigeria to be restrusted.
6. He commands respect in Yoruba land than OBJ.

Sir sorry to say you are an ungrateful servant. It was the same reluctant Shehu Shagari who made you COAS and later CDS. It's well

Hurricane Atiku all the way. 16th February is a done deal

Atiku

Atikulated

Atiku for president.

Wrong on Shagari appointing him!

Gen. Akinrinade is probably Nigeria's most respected and professional General. Bonafide civil war hero who commands massive respect from Soldiers on both the Nigerian and Biafran side. Never blows his own trumpet and stayed out of military (or civilian) politics and coups.

If he was still in the Army, there is no way Buhari or IBB would have dared, or successfully planned a coup in the 1983-85 period.

He became COAS after the power trio (OBJ, Danjuma, Yar'Adua) handed over to civilians in 1979, and Shagari soon 'demoted him upstairs' as a General without troops in the somewhat ceremonial CDS position. Shagari didn't want to be seen to retire him, so he created a new, but effectively useless position for him, & Akinrinade promptly retired.

In a way Shagari ended up hurting himself as there is no way Buhari, IBB and Abacha would have pulled the stunts they pulled under Wushishi with Akinriade in charge of the Army.

It is not surprising that a man like Akinriade would look down on an Obasanjo who was an inferior officer, but blows his own trumpet and has been at the pinnacle of the Nigerian military, politics and nation.

Gen. Akinriade (who hardly speaks) has been recently public about expressing his sadness at the state of the Nigerian Nation & has said that if this is the outcome we have, then the Civil war was a mistake and should not have happened. He says restructuring or breaking up should be explored if it will bring better outcomes for people than we currently have.

You know when they say 'Better to keep quiet and be thought to be a dummy, than open your mouth & remove all doubt'?

Reading up on Nigeria's contemporary history (which sadly is not taught in schools) will help you a lot.

The myth will be proven wrong this time.

The truth about OBJ is that he is self centered. He only wants the presidents after him on one term only. Ive studied the trend and that's it. I do not really know why. Maybe he wants to remain the president with the highest years in office or he knows a 2nd term president would be fearless to deal with him.

OMG... How can anybody in their right senses compare Obi to Osinbajo? What?! The difference in their classes is very loud and obvious. Next time, try look for Fashola and co to compare him Obi with. Smh

Osinbajo is a class of his own. A future president of the New Nigeria.
I no blame you... Always living in denial, a man who doesn't know the difference between where were wear.

Tabuku:
Who is this fake general self? i have never heard of your name since i was born. Maybe you want to gain popularity.Politics aside,Obasanjo is a honerable man in Nigeria(two times head of state and president for 8 years) he is a voice in united nations and Africa. hold your jealousy and sleep with it,after making your money from those that instructed you to say all this bull-sh.t
who is d general self ?

Anyway, General Alani Akinrinade was d chief of army staff during d sheu shagari era as d president.
Alani later became Nigeria chief of defence.

He was subordinate to obj, both of them were in d same battalion during d Biafra war on d side of Nigeria.

During 1993 June 12 crisis; he was part of NADECO.

Alani a refined , gallant and upright army general; one of d early Nigerians to join d army as a graduate along with Ojukwu.

If u don't know history, as your parents, before u vomit rubbish.

Goggle can as well help u,if u care to know more about Alani d gentle man from Osun state. Like a reputable elder statesman, he hardly talks.

Instead of you to tell us, where Akinrinade has lied against obj in his write up; u won't do that, because you know that Alani is right.

You are only blindfolded by atikulooted.

Strangely enough, the same tribe that called obj all sorts of unprintable names, when obj went against Jonathan in 2015, are now d one praising him.

You and ur tribe are just as unstable as obj himself. You never knew what u really wanted.

Today atiku, last week referendum, yesterday On Biafra we stand, next is Election boycott.

You will always love obj, because you have lot of things in common.... always going back to ur vomit.
