The Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) Plc recorded modest growths in key performance indicators for the full year 2018 with pre-tax profit for the 12-month period rising to N215.59 billion.

Key extracts of the audited report and accounts of GTB for the year ended December 31, 2018, released yesterday at the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) showed that gross earnings rose to N434.7 billion in 2018 as against N419.23 billion recorded in 2017. Profit – before- tax went up by 9.06 per cent from N197.69 billion to N215.59 billion, while net profit rose by 9.96 per cent from N167.91 billion in 2017 to N184.64 billion in 2018. Earnings per share also increased from N5.94 to N6.54.

The matter should have remained a business matter between 2 parties even if they had to go to court.

And indeed, the matter had been in court for years before the media angle was introduced into the case in 2017.

Even if Innoson thought a media approach would be good for his brand, he should have contained it within the scope of a stealing bank versus a cheated business owner matter.

GTBank cannot escape paying if judgement is final and not in their favour.
