Taaah! Is an insult to our president. Our president who does not even hav the third class is governing you with the third class, people with masters, phd & profs. Deciding for all of them. Leaves the country whenever he likes and return as he likes, yet nobody, even the profs are not making phim. Anyway, I know you only want to be noticed, and it has paid off.

This one is still living in the past, she is trying to shame First Class guys as much as possible.

Every one knows the world out there is different from the world in school, but it's still better to graduate with First Class.

[s]The fact that you do not have the intellectual capacity to understand her message, without having her spell it out to you like a pre-schooler, says more of you, than anyone else.

Your comprehension level is incredibly low, but that is common for people who paid their way through school, so, I understand.

I suggest you submit your weathered CV to the nice lady, maybe she will find some menial job with which you can engage yourself in her establishment, rather than gnashing your teeth on the internet because a Third Class graduate has achieved heights you can't even dream of.[/s]

Intellectual Capacity? Comprehension? To think this is coming from a pass grade graduate. The height of irony!

Oh, I see! I used the word "unequivocal" somewhere. I see where your problem is coming from.

Anyways, I'd be humble and generous enough to provide you with some quality education you've always dreamt of. See below:

equivocal
adjective | equiv.o.cal |

\i-'kwi-və-kəl\

Regarding your question about whether I could please employ you to look after my pet dog; my answer is a CAPITAL NO! I am not the cause of your penury, and I choose not to be part of solving it. Can't I make my own choices again?

However, if the slave trade ever becomes legal again, I may consider buying you over just for the fun of it.

Thank you!

I pity those of you that are not "daughters-in-law" to a governor.

The truth is, if you are from a poor family, decent grade in school remains your best bet to a decent post-school life.

A Nigerian Lady has taken to social media to explain how she employs First Class graduates to work for her while she pays them handsomely, stating clearly that she is a Third Class graduate and how her certificate is useless and she doesn't need it and had never used it.
She said, “I graduated with 3rd class. I employ people with 1st class and pay salaries. I earn what people with 1st class can't even imagine earning. I have influence that 1st class people leverage on to help facilitate their wants. I've never used the 3rd class cert for anything above”.
She advices students; “Apparently some people are triggered by this tweet bcs they couldn't comprehend the English. To break it down, your class of degree or certificate doesn't determine your success in life. You can graduate with 1st class and be the most successful person on earth or vice versa.
I used to think 3rd class was the end of the world but look where I'm at in life. My class of degree motivated me to be better. I graduated top of my class in software development and again, the certificate didn't do anything with respect to getting a job”.

Bottom line is you graduated with a 3rd class, respect yourself and don’t try to justify such poor grade.trully
You can’t measure the level of success in by life by your grades, but then you were sent to school to study, graduating with a 3rd class shows your level of unseriousness.

Lol, Jarus, what you've said cannot be truer. I tell them, I tell people this same thing. Do not use exceptions as rules. Ceteris paribus, it is easier to make it with decent-to-top grades than with none.

I tell my family members and younger friends, don't come and be a burden to me oo. Do what you do excellently well, and then I will splash resources on you to support you..

Meanwhile, one of your "egg heads" (I forget his name now) was invited all the way from naija to Boston for the HBS African conference this year. I had an interesting conversation with him. Humble guy. He seems to be intersecting technology with asset management in a nice way, said he resigned his oil job. Perhaps another billionaire in the making.

Young people, push and do your best - push more if you are from a background of lack. Eventually, your chances of succeeding will be higher.

Life is all about being focused on success and breakthrough.

Me I am a first class material too, though I slipped by 0.02 and still ended up 3rd best graduating student, I was close to securing my dream jobs in top IOCs and NNPC but for whatever reason, my name always got missing towards final shortlist for medicals after passing ATs and interviews.

I then landed on the kind of jobs I never wished for in lowest firms I never wished to work for just to lay hands on work ethics.

My desire and focus was to own my own company, a big global brand and employ others and help reduce unemployment, this had been my goal even while on top as best student in school, I never wished to end up as a director or manager in any government outfit or private company because I hate juju, I hate competition with colleagues that's rampant and usual in Nigerian offices; juju, envy, etc, so my goal was to work small in a top firm, save money, resign, and venture into my dream business towards building a company of my own.

But I couldn't secure that top pay jobs, I worked small and resigned and intentionally stopped applying for jobs and decided to work the soil on my own and build that my dream company.

Family and friends advised me to get a job instead of wasting time on trial and error businesses with no capital but I focused on my goal.

I am not there yet, but today, God is so awesome to me, the salaries I used to wish to earn working for top companies back then, I earn more than that today, and I also pay salary which makes me feel a bit fulfilled.

I give all thanks to God.

So to all reading, don't wait till u graduate with 3rd class before u think entrepreneurship.

Those with first class don't feel bad, its how the world is now, things have changed. You make money based on the solutions u provide to peoples daily challenges not based on your academic performance.

I noticed most academically brilliant students/graduates don't always end up successful after school, I am one of those brilliant students everyone other student envies in school, and I knew most brilliant students don't end up successful after school so I wanted to be an exception so I prepared beyond academic performance and brilliance.

I prepared myself to face the harsh world after school.

I read anything book; religious, business, fiction, politics, wars, humanity, health, science, engineering, computer, internet, and it helped me a lot when my educational qualification failed to land me my fat pay dream jobs. If you want to be successful in life, especially today, read beyond your field. Read everyday. Read everything readable even nonsense things read. Read novels. Read motivational books. Read how to books and articles. Buy books. Buy ebooks. Form the habit of reading wide. Use internet for daily researches and reading and keep trying things u read, believe me, u must be successful someday.

Learn from my experience.

God I remain grateful to you, its not by my power or wisdom but your grace and mercy cry
please I'm a youth Corper. Studied engineering precisely . I hope you don't mind me asking, what kind of business are you into?

Hate is all I see, because we didn’t make it to their class doesn’t mean you should disrespect them, whether they make it in life or not.

When you tell us Bill Gate, Mark, Seun are university dropout, always remind us that Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, Warren Buffett, Donald Trump are university graduate also.

If you are in school you certainly have to strive hard to make a good grade, if it’s too late then learn to work hard and smart, the best will certainly come out.

I’ll forever be against downplaying their feat.

*her father in law was a former governor, well knowing the Nigerian factor grin we know where the success is from. How many first class grade did she employ, they are hard to come by.

Congrats! Your story is fascinating and quite obtainable in a society especially one like Nigeria because:

First, most people who read hard to have good class of degree in Nigeria do that with the mind of getting good employment someday. But how many jobs are available nowadays? While the few available jobs favors someone with good connections over good grades.
Second, as a result of above, self-employment sells more nowadays than a good certificate. Someone with bad grades would most likely get involved in different self-employment trades to make-up for the bad grade while the ones with first class would likely rely on the hopes of getting high paying jobs which may not be so eventually.
Third, the education system of Nigeria institutions imparts more of theory than real practical skill or life applicable training. So, for example, if you're a graduate of computer science, your first-class cert would not code or design a website generating millions for you; only your skill will do that.

And on the other hand, she has said a lot about how she employed first class degree graduates but nothing about what she does or how she got there.
LESSON ONE: Never get carried away by all the innumerable ladies who come online these days to share their shocking success stories and assets, for you will never know or learn how they got there.

"Never envy or compete with anything with pink lips between the thighs. Read their stories and move on."

Nice write-up, but you were beclouded by judgement and you didn't note the part here

"I graduated top of my class in software development and again, the certificate didn't do anything with respect to getting a job”.

Where she stated her job..stop the hate, not all women are hoes

But why didn't she employ her fellow third class graduates?

I am not admiring her, I don't know how you came to such a conclusion

There are those who are extremely privileged that have done nothing with it, so, her privilege takes nothing away from her story. She isn't the first third class graduate with a success story, is she?

There was still a lesson to take from her story. The fact that this interner space has made it a crime for anyone who isn't a first class or 2:1 graduate to share their success stories, is irksome. Are you invalidating her success because of her privilege? If it was a story of a Third Class graduate that suffered and never got a decent job, a lot of people would be using it to do Life Lesson 101, but she has a success story despite her grade, so, let us slate it and accuse her of teaching the wrong values.

Nobody's story should lose credence simply because their situation was different. She was academically disadvantaged, but still made something of herself. Some people are financially disadvantaged, but still make something of themselves, some are physically disadvantaged, but still make something of themselves. Even the rich have struggles.

There is a lesson for those who wish to take it, but some would rather nitpick her story, than recognise the lesson.

This isn't just her. This is how you all react to anyone whose success isn't aligned to a first class or 2:1 grade. She did not ask anyone to fail, but bear in mind, that the percentage of graduates below the 2:1 grade far outnumber those who meet that spectrum and they don't need the constant beating the top tier like to dole out every chance they get.
