Any of the two but hope u can defer your admission if visa doesn't come b4 sept
I can’t which is why I’m hoping for some sort of miracle cos I also got a scholarship and my course is only open for September intake
I heard the both process has the same processing time I’m just hopeful the online one I’m going through with favors me
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 11:01am On Jun 17, 2019
No he hasn’t ordered for his gcms note. If he is unable to resume in September 2019, he will be unable to renew his scholarship. So we are trying to apply again . I know it is not the wisest step to take by not getting the gcms note. We are using his son and my old parents as home ties as well as a small business he runs. All these weren’t stated in his initial application though.
mcobex:
I don't think the issue here is fund related, any of the above steps you decide to take will be good. Has he ordered for his gcms note? just to be sure why he was delayed. I have a strong feeling he wasn't able to convince the vo on home-tie and personal asset, I will advise he uses his son as his home-tie. He can say that he loves his son so so much and can't stay far away from him for long, so he has enough reason to go back to Nigeria after study to be with his son. Also, other family members can be use as hometie as well, but let him talk more about his son in this case
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by oriazowan: 11:06am On Jun 17, 2019
Please a quick enquiry. Is it true that ordering for gcms note from inside Canada is faster that ordering for it outside of Canada? I am considering doing so on behalf of my brother if it possible. Please advise

Morning wonderful people.
In the case of a re-application, how do I introduce a previous job( paediatric clinic) that I had as an intern for a year and a full employee for a year before moving to my current job. I tried getting a reference before my first app but they didn't give me. Now they have decided to write me one whenever am ready.
Thanks for your anticipated input. @frankrobbn,mcobex,bracha,qudkom and co...

Good morning gurus,

Please, one having some difficulties uploading IMM1294e validated form. How can this be resolved?

BrainyBrainer:
To the experienced people here, pls I'm on the verge of submitting my study permit application. I have a close tie sponsor(my brother) with sufficient fund for my masters application. My questions are:
(1) If it makes any difference that he transfers the money into my account or it may remain in his account while I only present his bank statement.
(2) since I am being sponsored, is it necessary that I provide my bank account statement too?

Pls your authoritative replies are highly appreciated.

My extract on dealing with 3rd party sponsorship.

Third party sponsorship

3rd party sponsorship is the use of individuals/organisations that dont have a direct relationship with you or have their own dependents.

It isn't impossible to use a 3rd party sponsor, but a lot of people find it hard to get the required details. A VO needs to understand why someone that isn't directly related to you (father, Mother, husband, wife or siblings without dependents) would want to sponsor you. The very first thing they need to understand is:

1. Has the 3rd party sponsor assisted you financially in the past with concrete EVIDENCE! .
2. Can you explain vividly the dependents of the 3rd party sponsor and how this won't affect future assistance.
3. Can you explain why a (3rd) would want to spend so much money on you!.

so ideally there isn't a perfect way to do this or a magical document to convince a VO. However if you can get the following among other supporting documents then you are fine. Also note the older you are the harder it is for a VO to believe your case and you can get flagged for rejection based on "Personal finance" or inadequate reason for embarking on an expensive program.

1. Show proof the (3rd) has assisted in the past

2. Explain vividly the (3rd) dependents in a
separate LOE. And back it up with documents

3. (3rd) financial portfolio

4. Rather than the (3rd) stating in the letter of employment that he/she promises to do this and that let the person pay a reasonable sum perhaps tuition. That way the LOS will have a statement such as
" I have paid the applicants 1st semester fee has my own quota of support towards the applicants studies and prepared to do more in future".
You will notice that the (3rd) has shown considerable support to convince the VO rather than making empty promises to the VO on supporting.

This is just a few tips and there are so many other things that can be done to help your application. God bless!

Just attach it like you would with other documents. And state in your letter of explanation about the new development.

I am saying TRY to connect them, because unlike for the US visa where you would get interviewed, you don't get an interview for Canada visa, so that SOP is your explanation. From what I've seen on the US thread, you can switch courses from undergraduate to MSc., but for Canada, it might be harder. They most likely would think you're trying to be an economic migrant. That's why that explanation/link is key.

BUT, if one can't find a correlation between both courses, I suggest one uses passion. Explain how that new course is your passion, you could even say you had to do the undergrad course because it was the closest to your passion at the time of seeking admission. This then leads to 'why have you chosen Canada to pursue this passion?', you can then say 'the curriculum for the course in Nigeria isn't as extensive as it is at the university you chose in Canada', you go ahead to buttress your point by giving examples of available courses, their objectives and what you stand to gain after going through the courses. OR 'the course isn't even available in Nigeria (this has to be a verifiable truth). These are just examples, I think there are many more reasons.

Good luck.

I don't think you need a reference letter from your previous employer, since you are working with another company try to get from them and also include your new employment letter, promotion letter (if any), payslip/statement of account, ID card.
About how to introduce your previous place of work, I think it should be in a normal way, no specific way to go about it

Why do you want to introduce that previous job? Would its introduction aid the approval of your visa? Is there a link between that job and your current study plan?

I have a Bsc in Industrial Physics.
The job role at the previous job was Health Records officer. My intended course is Health information Management. What am doing at my current employment has to do with 1)Acquiring, analysing and updating patients health information for clinical study by medical students.
2)Management of the college of Medicine database as well as keeping records of the computer lab supplies and equipment.
3)Coding of different diseases into various classifications to aid research into epidemiology and clinical analysis.

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by Bracha: 1:52pm On Jun 17, 2019
I see. Let's start.

To sell yourself, talk very briefly on your BSc as it isn't of relevance to your future course. You could say you chose Physics because it was the course available at the time, but what you've always wanted was Health Information.

You could then go on to state why you love Health Information Management (HIM) - be concise and straight to the point, no beating about the bush, no love stories.

This is where your stint at the Paediatric hospital comes in; you could say you just couldn't leave HIM, so the first opportunity you got to work in that role, you took it at so and so paediatric hospital. When you left the job, you took this current one at so and so hospital doing all these you mentioned. Don't just mention them, outline and explain them, go into details of what they entail. But remember, be concise. Only the relevant details matter.

Then you say why you chose Canada to pursue it instead of Nigeria, why you chose that school also.

For what you'll do with the course when you return, you could include in your writing that Nigeria doesn't do proper collation of data, this includes health data and statistical analysis. This course could help you do that, also analyse these data and aid tremendously in proffer solutions; this would be done by the medical doctors.

PS: If you decide to use what I have written, please use them in your own words, so one VO looking through this thread won't see my words in your application grin cheesy

Good luck

I'm still seeing 400K to Manitoba from Lagos, on the Ethiopian Airline (EA) app. For EA, the prices on the app are cheaper (I saw this on the Living in Canada thread)
