Fuckthamods: e pain am , Mr bigot. when your kids nephew and younger ones bring history assignment on civil war, then you will explain better why you are bench warmers of the corridor of power |

BabaCommander: The civil war didnt cause your problems so teaching it wont solve them. You take the lessons of the civil war and learn from those. The text are written by historians who have their work peer reviewed. They cant just write nonsense without citing first and second hand sources. Your opinion is your to keep. Nobody is begging you or snyone else to accept historal facts. Controversy topics should be freely debated with facts qnd arguments that's all. 1 Like |

Oh I didn't know that was an option. I am not Biafran but was told about the war by my parents. However, the generation that witnessed the war is dying. I don't know why Nigeria will refuse to teach its history. Blue3k: 1 Like |

Abi. Good move. Why was history taken out of the curriculum in the first place? We need to know where we're coming from, in order to decide where we are going to. 1 Like |

They should be teaching kids how to make solar panel or how to generate electricity through solar power, so by the time they grow up some of those kids can solve the problem of darkness in the nation. |

equalgarden: Have your state add that to the curriculum. The FG sets minimum standards for education not maximum. Good luck. |

BabaCommander: Thank u my bro...history teaching does not bring about any tangible development in delapsion state of education in Nigeria so far. I doubt if Nigeria government are really thoughtful of what is needed to change the trend in education |

sweetilicious: Restructuring what exactly? You think history is kind to those restructuring mongers? History will make it clear that if not for those people who destroyed the structure with their greed initially, we won’t be calling for restructuring today. Yet they’re still the ones championing the restructuring campaign after they found out that the destruction of the structure didn’t favour them. This is a very welcome idea it will shot some people up. |
Re: Nigeria Orders Teaching Of History As Standalone Subject by seguno2: 10:13pm On Jun 21, 2019 |
Blue3k: Not just the states but also the people in the states because the states don’t exist in a vacuum by themselves. What is a state without the people When the people make it their priority, it will happen and flourish. Until then we can complain till eternity but it won’t change anything. |

I commend the federal government for this great news, very long over due. It's a great start in the right direction. I'm guessing this is for national history? We need to do more, state history needs to have its place as well. |

uninformed people everywhere.... this same APC govt removed history from primary school curriculum and that of secondary school 4 years ago, now they are bringing it back...and someone is commending them and pointing finger at the past govts ......didn't you have history in your school curriculum during PDP govt? APC attempted to kill history, so they alter the curriculum, struck out history, mershed Christian religious knowledge under what they call civic education or so, Christians raised alarm, they returned CRK but history was gone, Buhari never wanted Nigerians to know his history.... now they have seen the harm of not having history in a nation basic schools...... when an illiterate leads, he doesn't know the importance of history, and can joke with it....thanks to elite who worked all over to bring back this amiable subject |
Re: Nigeria Orders Teaching Of History As Standalone Subject by UncletC: 11:56pm On Jun 21, 2019 |
Blue3k:Sir, history has always been in the school curriculums ever since, it was Buhari govt that removed it in 20l6 , l will tolerate this your comment only if you are below l5 years but if you are above, l pity you for putting this kind of comment showing you never knew the subjects you did in your basic schools 1 Like |

UncletC: Ive never went to school to school in Nigeria. It's what Ive always heard and majority hear agree. You seem to be contradicting yourself in both post you made. Did Buhari remove it 4yrs ago or in 3yrs ago. Lastly lets say he did why didnt didnt the states who pay for schools keep it. The FG sets minimum standards not maximum. If you have an article proving otherwise I'd like to see. |

HeyCorleone: See how ignorant you are? This is actually why we need history. Many Nigerian tribes did not engage in any type of slavery until whites came. Some that resisted slavery were killed. Case in point Jaja of Opobo. |
