Shady Poza, that's a strong one. Congrats. This took over a year.
Did IRCC at any point ask you for a new bank statement or proof of funds? Or that POF you submitted overall year ago is still the one that will be used to conclude the case. I have applied and am supposed to return the money. Hope they won't ask me for a second POF? Gurus please comment.

Shadypoza01:
My case was a hectic one mehnnnn. I applied June 11, 2018 via online, did my biometrics on June 13, 2018 (in Lagos), waited 13 whole months b4 any update came up on my CIC acct.(while waiting i kept sending mails n applied for GCMS notes twice). Finally got a medical request mail on June 11, 2019.
Was able to schedule a medical appointment in Abuja and successfully carried it out June 19, 2019. On June 22, 2019 (last Saturday) my CIC account was updated to "medicals passed". And today which is 26th of June, i received my passport submission request.
That's d time line of how long my Study visa application took.

No I haven't. I sent the web form.

@Chukwuemekatehi, Haven't you received your approval/passport request until now? I can remember we discussed about this sometime last week and also a possible way of expediting the process.

Your profile looks okay, but I noticed you didn't mention how much your tuition fee is. Also, try and order for your gcms note as that will explain why you were delayed. Good luck

Tuition fee: 21000 Canadian dollars

Hello house, how much is medicals now?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 16 by jaybaby2017: 7:10am On Jun 28, 2019
@ Frankrobbn1, I withdrew my Express Entry Profile because in the GCMS note, the reason given by the VO for refusing the third application was that I have an active express entry profile and therefore the Intent to remain in Canada out-ways my leaving. That was the only reason on the GCMS note.

Frankrobbn1:

Nice profile you've got! Congratulations to you and your family. Though, I am curious to why you withdraw an active Express Entry profile for a Temporary resident Visa...

After my medical request, I got a mail stating that the naira account seems fraudulent and requested for “my bank statement ticket ID and password”. After so much waiting and praying it finally came.

Then @awuuga I met you in this forum, I’m so happy our paths crossed, your a friend turned brother. What excites me the most is that we are going to the same school and the same course. Also, you being a term ahead of me gives me someone to look up to for guidance in school.

To all helping out applicants here, you guys are awesome. More power.

My advice to newbies, try and read the threads. It might be tiring and nobody expects you to read all the pages but read enough.

Tuition fee: 21000 Canadian dollars
That means you need at least 31,000 CAD for both tuition and living expenses(that's almost 10 million naira). Your dad submitted a SOA of 17mil , hope he has a stable source of income? because the vo will also want to know if your dad will have enough to take care of the other family members and also be able to cover your second year tuition and living expenses. Like @Frank said, you need to explain all that in your SOP, also your dad needs to explain in his letter of support how he intend to do all I stated above.
NB: If you have time please order for your gcms note, just to have a clearer picture of what the vo's thought about your previous application. Good luck

Your dad giving you 5M out of 35M is sufficiently enough to sponsor you and i can state that you won't have any problem with financial sufficiency in your application. At this point, you should be more concerned about your purpose of study in Canada and ties to Nigeria that can compel your return home after studies.

Thank you so much @frankrobbn1, i really appreciate your reply and i think i am at ease, my home ties are my 6siblings, my parent and me inheriting my father's farm business as the first child with my ambition to be a renowned lecturer in Nigeria.

Get a power of attorney, this gives you the permission or right to manager the property on your father's behalf. Also, in terms of inheritance, don't just state it in your SOP, at least show proof of a written letter of intent from your father regarding to such effect.

Good luck!

Hello, with this your profile, I will strongly suggest that you consider applying through Express Entry especially if you're still under 30 years of age. Focus your energy on passing IELTS very well and you can be sure of getting to Canada in a few months. Once you get in as a PR holder, you can then pursue your career change.

Hello Frank,
Please i need help.
I applied for a study TRV to canada.
Course of study- Cybersecurity Post-graduate studies at Centennial College Ontario
Offered admission for Fall Sept 2019 and its a 1-year program
i studied Electrical Electronics Engr and graduated with a 4.19 CGPA
I currently work as a system software engr

1st student visa application date = March 26th 2019
Biometrics done 28th March 2019
Refused date = 14th May 2019
Refused based on
* insufficient funds and not satisfies i hv enoughmoney for tuition fees which is 17,850CAD (i had made an initial deposit payment of 2,300CAD)

* insufficient funds to sustain my living expenses throughout my stay (my personal funds being 3M naira ~ 12,000CAD approx is wat i have in my account and my sponsor who is my immediate elder sister has SOA of 36M naira ~ 130,000CAD)

*insufficient funds to transport myself to and from canada

Reapplication date - 27th May, 2019
Biometrics Validation - 24th June, 2019
2nd Refusal Date - 27th June, 2019

In the reapplication, i addressed the concerns of the above rejection reasons by paying my full tuition fees from my sponsors account and giving them a breakdown of my budget on living expenses which is about 5,000CAD which covers my duration of stay for the program

2nd Refusal reason now is on purpose of visit. That they are not convinced i will return after my program

What do i do?

I intend to reapply immediately since i still have 9 more weeks to my intended date of resumption. Please how do i go about it

My brother with this your 4.16 CGPA why keep dashing the Canadian embassy your hard earned money when you can secure a full scholarship with reputable schools like Simon Fraser University and University of Waterloo Don't allow this high CGPA's of yours waste for a Post-graduate studies at Centennial College Ontario. Start now by searching for potential Supervisors who will be accept you to work under their supervision for the spring/fall term 2020. Its better you take your time and package an airtight application than reapplying and getting same feedback (a refusal).

Thank me later.

Hi really appreciate you guys, I have a dilemma. With a profile like this, Graduated law 2002, law school, NYSC, worked in a law firm for years, in 2009 worked as a public servant for 6 years in education visited Canada in that capacity, subsequently went back to a different law firm and have since worked there while volunteering as an English teacher in some schools. I have also taken some English teaching courses online. I have a passion for both Law and Education. However at this point I would love to pursue a career in Education as I intend setting up a school. What do you advise?

4. How many years Work experience?

Hi guys, just to be sure - the principal applicant for study permit does not need to complete the ''application for temporary resident visa" form , right?

It's very unreasonable of the visa officer at the Canadian embassy to have refused your temporary resident visa on the basis of your active Express Entry profile, in view of the fact that it was clearly stated on IRCC offical website that having dual intents (1 for temporary residence and 1 for permanent residence) is legitimate, and does not preclude the applicant from becoming a temporary resident so long as the applicant can satisfy the visa officer that he/she has significant ties to their home country that will motivate their return home by the end of the period authorized for their stay. With that being said, dual intent on the part of the applicant is therefore not prima facie grounds for refusal of temporary resident status. It's inappropriate that the visa officer's don't practice the subsection 22(2) of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) to the decision-making process.

Once again, Congratulations to you and your family.

Jephehe:
A friend of my here in Canada invited his Mom for his graduation ceremony, The mum was in Uk for a short visit because of that she did her biometric in Uk, Visa was approved and passport request, submitted and Stamped in Uk.

If you are in Canada on Visitor Status and you have applied for Study Permit if passport request showed while in Canada you can submit it in Canada.

Another option is when the Visa is Approved you can pick the study permit up in the Land borders.

My wife has change from visitor to Open work permit in Canada land border, I changed my study permit to PGWP in the land border without SOP much documents to convince the Land Border Officers.

Na my case i dey talk oh.

Thanks for sharing Mr Jephehe (My right hand man Boss!) cool
