The Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, has reacted to the rape allegation leveled against COZA pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo by singer, Timi Dakolo's wife, Busola.

In an interview with New Telegraph, the Special Assistant on Media and Communications to CAN president, Supo Ayokunle, Pastor Oladeji Adebayo, said the Christian body does not regulate how pastors operate their churches.

“I am sorry CAN does not intervene in how churches are running. Churches belong to denominations and these are the two bodies that regulate how pastors run their ministries, not CAN. CAN deals with intrareligious matters and stands between the church and the government.” he said

Association like PFN arm of CAN can only suspend his membership and that is if he is even a member. Many big churches like Christ Embassy are not members of any. CAN is not a regulatory body but a free and voluntary membership association. Christianity does not have a reulatory body that discipline members like ICAN does to accountants. I tried not comment since morning when i started seeing headlines but I have to say this one.
What is the issue with CAN telling you what their role is?
I may not like the accused but I don't overstep my boundary. There are more pressing issues in Nigeria affecting Christians and the spiritually discerning know this.
Now to commonsense, I don't support rape but I hate hypocrisy. All these people bashing the man, do they actually love righteousness and how clean are they? The same people who do all sorts but would be the first to talk about righteousness.
Always remember he that is first in a matter seemeth right until you hear the other side.
Be quick to listen and slow to speak/Judge.
Please leave CAN out of this...let the social media traffic continue.
Even though I have never listened to BF's message and I do not subscribe to his lifestyle I can't condemn him without proof,that is,if I'm to judge.
