RTSC: Oh c'mon! Victims, victims & victims!!! Don't you folks get tired of repeating same stuff every time? Everyone has been slaved for ages and these individuals have moved on without acting victimised. Arabs enslaved blacks more than the Europeans yet no one mentions that. Regarding the bold, why is the movement not focusing on black-on-black deaths? Like those that happen in Chicago and environs? @Topic: I doubt that statement. Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Korean etc Americans are more successful and richer than Nigerian-Americans. |

AgentOfAllah: Why should descendants be held responsible for their ancestors' sins? Besides, with "diversity", "inclusion" and good old "affirmative action", has the debt not being repaid? When will you ask the Arabs to do same? |

Gerrard59: Errr....no, Arabs didn't enslave blacks more than Europeans. Most of the black people outside Africa are found in Europe, America, South America and Central America and the Caribbean/West Indies because of the legacy of European slave trade. Arabs never came close to the industrial scale exploitation of black bodies in chattel slavery. And black-on-black violence has always been a focus of the African-American intelligentsia and elites and grassroots movements and even black churches? Who said you must focus on the singular issue at the expense of other issues of institutionalized mass incarceration, over-policing and police brutality? 2 Likes |

Ugosample: Thanks so much. Please make it louder. Chinese in Malaysia have been discriminated against so much yet they earn more money than ethnic Malays. Same Malaysia kicked out Singapore (which is predominantly composed of ethnic Chinese), yet Singapore picked up and became more developed and richer than Malaysia today. Same Singapore was occupied by the Japanese, yet that didn't hinder them from progressing and being best buddies with today's Japan. Same Japanese enslaved and committed heinous atrocities against Koreans yet that didn't stop the Koreans from advancing and being a major trading partner with Japan. Yet again, same Japanese committed atrocities in China but the Chinese did not allow that slow their development. Today, China is Japan's biggest trading partner. If after more than 400 years, some people still blame slavery (whereas every race has once been under slavery), then they are deluded! 3 Likes |

Obi1kenobi: Regarding blacks found disproportionately in the west is because they were allowed to live. However, same cannot be said for the Arabians who massacred or castrated the blacks there. https://blogs.timesofisrael.com/the-silence-about-black-slavery-in-the-arab-world/ On the aspect of gun violence, well, that is what happens when the family system is broken down by years of Sure, all ills must be looked at holistically, however, if after over half a century of "progressive politics", years of black dominated leadership and even a black presidency, these ills still remain. Then, other solutions should be explored. 2 Likes |

Gerrard59: Mr. Gerrard59 has 4 children. Ade, Bade, Tade and Wade. Uncle Tom has 3 Children. I don't care what their names are. One night, Uncle Tom raids Mr. Gerrard59's house and kidnaps Ade, Bade and Tade, takes them across the sea, then forces them to build a fantastical mansion in a mythical city called Washington DC for free, so that he and his three children can live in security and comfort, happily ever after. And happily, they lived. In fact, Uncle Tom grew very old and died, his three children also grew old and died they had many grand children, and all of them continued to enjoy the benefits of the magnificent estate Uncle Tom had the foresight to build....with the free labour of Gerrard59's Ade, Bade and Tade. Gerrard59 is now long dead too. In fact, Ade, Bade, Tade and Wade too are all dead. But they left descendants of theirs. Wade's descendants are in a mythical continent called Africa. Ade's, Bade's and Tade's descendants remain under the service of Uncle Tom's descendants. Unfortunately for Uncle Tom's descendants, they only lived happily, but not ever after. Ade's, Bade's and Tade's descendants are now many enough to cause riots and make their continued captivity very expensive for Uncle Tom's descendants to maintain. Uncle Tom's descendants, being clever, decide to finally free the descendants of Gerrard59. However, remember that Uncle Tom's descendants still 'own' that fantastical edifice in Washington DC that Ade, Bade and Tade built for free. Now, they can rent it out, sell it, lease it, convert it into a private museum of American history and continue to make a killing (mind buggling profit, that is to say) out of it. Uncle Tom's descendants have all the requisite capital to stay rich. Gerrard59's kid are set free, but left with nothing to look after themselves, despite the fact that it was their free labour that gave Uncle Tom's descendants their privileged advantage. But wait a minute! I lied!! That labour that built the magnificent edifice in Washington DC wasn't free. It was stolen!! Remember that Uncle Tom actually stole Gerrard59's Ade, Bade and Tade in the first place. When a thief steals something and the thief's children continue to take advantage of that stolen property long after the thief is dead. My question to you is as follows: Is it appropriate to ask the thief's children to return what was stolen to the children of the original owner? If your answer to the above is yes, then you agree that this has nothing to do with children paying for the sins of their ancestors, and everything to do with giving back stolen things to their original owners; in this case, the descendants of Gerrard59. Get this: America was built on stolen labour. And until the fruits of the stolen labour is returned to the original labourers, the American society will always owe a debt to Black Americans. ALWAYS!! That's the best I can do to help you understand this situation. If you still don't get it, I can't help. And yes, I'd say the same about the Arabs, but this discussion isn't about Black Arabs, it's about black Americans! 2 Likes 1 Share |

Infinityk: I thought you wanted to discuss the facts, Apparently your diatribe is low on facts according to Census data bolstered by an analysis of 13 annual Houston-area surveys conducted by Rice University. Although they make up a tiny portion of the U.S. population, a whopping 17 percent of all Nigerians in this country held master's degrees while 4 percent had a doctorate, according to the 2006 American Community Survey conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. In addition, 37 percent had bachelor's degrees. To put those numbers in perspective, 8 percent of the white population in the U.S. had master's degrees, according to the Census survey. And 1 percent held doctorates. About 19 percent of white residents had bachelor's degrees. Asians come closer to the Nigerians with 12 percent holding master's degrees and 3 percent having doctorates. The Nigerian numbers are "strikingly high," said Roderick Harrison, demographer at the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies, a Washington, D.C., think tank that specializes in researching black issues 1 Like 1 Share |

AgentOfAllah: Bro, everything you saying is the definition of entitlement. Thinking that America owes you anything is pure entitlement. And yeah essentialism is a bad thing. Not all black Americans feel entitled. Some go to school and work their asses off. They make it in life and live well. But the majority of them wanna be rappers and gangsters wanna be the next hot rapper. Even the ones that have no talent. Education is not their thing. In America, just a simple high school cert is enough for you to live fine. The government even gives financial aid for low income families to go to college. This is what most Nigerian and immigrant kids benefit from. That system was designed for black Americans to use, but they wouldn't. Nigerians are using it and they living fine. Now, truthfully this a glass ceiling limitation on minority in which you can only rise to a certain level, but that doesn't mean the company wont recorgnise you if you are a star. That's why people love Nigerians, we dont feel entitled for anything. We see it as an opportunity and we intend to make the best use of it. Educated or hard working black Americans are doing perfectly fine. 1 Like |

Just few more points. Have you heard about the hashtag #Blackgirlmagic ?. When have you ever heard of #whitegirlmagic, or #asiangirlmagic? Nah! Other races hustle in silence and their achievements make the waves for them. Other races long to contribute to the most important things. Science techs, businesses, environments e.t.c. they worship 2pac and think celebrities are Gods. I'm not saying it's bad to wanna be a celebrity, but when we talking about power, only the learned own it. I cant even begin to write all I wanna say it's so freaking emotional 1 Like |
