Good God! How many people will create this non-existent title of "President of Japan"??

How many people will fail to understand that the G7 summit has ended??

How many people will fail to understand that TICAD7 begins tomorrow??

How many people will fail to understand that dignitaries are holding bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the summit??

You didn't ask a proper question, but I know what you are trying to get at. People asked a similar question during the China summit last year and I've answered this question many times on Nairaland in the past 8 years. I will search for my old posts and post them here when I get home.

This is not a state visit, rather it is an international summit. Heads of state and government do not always provide individual welcoming ceremonies in a summit in which many heads of state are attending. There are going to be over 50 leaders at this summit, do you expect the emperor or prime minister to provide individual (one by one) welcoming ceremonies for them?? Does Donald Trump hold welcoming ceremonies for all world leaders that visit New York for the UN General Assembly??

However, like it was done at the China Summit last year, the prime minister or emperor will provide a general welcoming ceremony tomorrow when the summit begins.

Now, if your question is about the location of the prime minister, I answered that question on the first page of this thread (read every post on that page)
You tried lecturing these brainwashed kids who can't reason with their brains but only expect Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB to reason for them, kudos to you but if na me, I'd rather they continue wallowing in their ignorance since a simple Google search on their phones is so difficult for them. You tried anyway bros.

African leaders are arriving Japan for the 7th Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 7).

The conference is being organised by the Japanese Government, the United Nations and several African governments.

The summit will be declared open on Wednesday, but several African leaders have already arrived Japan in order to attend meetings on the sidelines of the summit.

1) President Buhari of Nigeria.

I was going to post this yesterday, but I got distracted.

It's not all rosey at TICAD7. There's an old African problem that might rear its ugly head at this summit. It's the problem of Western Sahara and Morocco.

Western Sahara shares a border with Morocco. It was colonised by Spain, but Morocco invaded the territory when Spain left. Morocco claims that Western Sahara is part of Morocco, but the inhabitants want their independence. They fought a guerilla war against Morocco and they have a government in exile.

Morocco left the Organisation of African Unity in the early 1980s because the OAU recognised Western Sahara.

There was a conference in Tokyo last year and it was organised to help prepare for TICAD7. Western Sahara sent delegates to the conference and the Moroccan delegates withdrew because of the presence of Western Sahara. Will this problem occur again tomorrow?

Here is a video of last year's conference. The Japanese chairman of the conference is stating that Western Sahara is not recognised and that they shouldn't put their flag on the table.

Kai! So people are still talking about a "president of Japan"?

Anyway, I need to make one last clarification before I go.
Re: Pictures Of African Leaders In Japan For TICAD7 by naptu2: 10:18am On Aug 27, 2019
1) Why didn't President Buhari attend the G7 summit in France?

(I have had to answer this kind of question in the past when GEJ did not attend a G8 summit. It's sad that I have to answer it again years later)

No African country is a member of the G7. However, G7 (or G8 as it then was) countries decided to invite African countries to their meetings, so that they can talk about the development of the African continent.

However, they do not invite the same countries every time. They rotate it. President Buhari has attended the G7 summit a couple of times and he might still attend future summits, but the fact that he was not there this year does not matter at all.

2) Why is TICAD7 being held in Japan. The Tokyo International Conference on African Development is being organised by the Government of Japan, the African Union, the United Nations and other organisations. There's absolutely nothing wrong in holding the conference in the country that pays most of the bills of the conference.

However, that does not mean that it cannot be held in Africa. TICAD6 was held in Nairobi, Kenya in 2016.

This is the dispute that I was referring to.

There is a representative of Western Sahara (Sahrawi Republic) at Ticad7 and the Moroccans are not happy.

(A bit of context. Algeria backed the Sahrawi guerrilas [called the Polisario Front] in their war against Morocco)
