But op. You should understand that this world ought to move forward and never backwards.

Whether for good or for bad, things must change.

Even God himself cannot change this present age, He cannot only destroy it for a new beginning if such must happen.

Grow and adjust yourself with time because you can never turn back the hands of time.

Even God said, wisdom will increase
Bad things will increase and so on.

Just mind yesterday but stop wishing it come back.

I am more particular about no1. Children are no longer safe, even with their immediate family members. The moment a particular generation of parents started becoming overly nonchalant with the wrong behavior of their wards, even to the point of quarreling with any attempt to call these children to order. Welcome to the age of train your child, let me train mine. This of course has foistered on us a generation of corrupt adults who in turn are raising their own

Naso everybody dey miss life in the 50s gaan.

But go embassy, naso we full everywhere.

People want to travel to countries that are already in the future sef.

I wasn't born in the 70s or 80s, but I like as life be now. The ease of things, minus the moral depravation and insecurity. But then, these things are part of the ills of modernisation. We really can't cherrypick.

Lol... there's no comparison guys, no one wants to go back to the olden days. Or would you rather we remained there while others leave us behind? There's nothing great about not having access to the internet, not knowing the importance of blood group, people not minding their businesses, etc... we always sensationalise this topic, at the end, we still want a government that will make us advance more into the new age. Some things are messed up today just like some things were messed up then. It does not make then better than now. Why not vote for someone that promises to take us back to the way things were in the '80s? undecided

Oh! Now, I get it! This is why some of y'all voted Buhari! So he'd take us 40 years backwards! angry

Just kidding o! cheesy

If you had your childhood in the 70's or 80's, you should be able to recall and relate with the way life was back then and now. This post is not out to paint any generation bad but as a realist, I owe myself a duty to state the bitter truth and nothing but the bitter truth; there is a high scale of decay in our social system.

Then Vs Now...

1) Back then, someone's child was like the child of the neighborhood. You could easily correct an erring child as an adult even in the presence of the parents. Today, you hardly can. You dare not shout at a child in the presence of the parents even if he/she erred! My brother, the kind eye wen the pikin mama go dey look you ehn, cold go catch you! This contributes a lot to why many children bahave immorally at surprising ages! These days, most young couples are just fit to reproduce but not fit to be parents.

2) Back then, when a child failed his/her exams in school, be sure he/she would sleep at the neighbour's house that night. Why you go fail? Today, there are so many mushroom private schools competing for parents' attention. Nobody fails anymore. If a child performs poorly and fails, the class teacher must explain to the robust, well-fed, money-conscious proprietor why the child failed, even if the child does not know that fish lives in water.

3) Back then, a secondary school student dare not visit his/her assumed lover at home. As a guy, you go stand for about ten buildings from the babe papa house, then send a 'Good Samaritan' child in the area to call her. If you are a girl, no even think about am. After the boy mama finish you with mouth, you go trace your mama house with speed! Today, even kids in Jss 3 organise parties in hotels around town, pop pills and smoke skunk.

4) Kids in the 70's/80's used suwe, flying kites, riding wheels and tyres, ludo, otori (hide and seek), Tales by Moonlight, wording (jokes), etc to pass time. Today, kids use porn and online betting to pass time.

5) Back then, you would become the envy of the neighborhood when you gain admission to study in the university. Area people go be like: 'Shuo! I hear say Mosco dor enter Uniben o!' Today, nobody gives a hoot whether you are in Migwor University or University of Vrendo! You must buy Benz first! Na wetin area wan know to calculate your 'success'.

6) Back then, to see a babe pant hard pass to enter USA with Donald Trump as president; you fit date babe for six months, you never taste the Oripopo. Today, sex is negotiated freely and openly as if na crayfish market. Women now shamelessly place price tags on themselves on social media for anyone who can afford the bill.

7) In the 70's and 80's, young women who exposed their bodies indecently were frowned at. Today, we now celebrate them shamelessly! This is one of the reasons why many young women now hide under the movie industry to prostitute themselves. Oh, I remember folks like Bukky Ajayi, Rachael Oniga, Christy Essien-Igbokwe (Zebrudaya's movie wife), etc. God bless these women even in death!

Nostalgic feelings...

Op. You must be from the tribe that just Produced the Current Deputy Senate President (D.S.P)

Those were good times!

We used to play "set" . Na "bad boys" dey football then. Make your papa catch you say you go play football outside! Chai! your own don finish be that! All that changed in the 90s and some of our parents were now regretting.

The day my mama beat me for staying behind in school to play football.... shocked you go think say she caught me and Oyenusi together. She killed that football spirit. I now resulted to playing table soccer. grin grin

Life was more relaxed and trusting.
