HOW NIGERIA CAN PAY MINIMUM WAGE COMFORTABLY..........

1. Abolish SECURITY VOTE in NIGERIA. Nigeria will pay N45,000 minimum wage comfortably.

2. a) Abolish CONSTITUENCY PROJECT FUNDS
b) Reduce number of ADVISERS to SENATE PRES(2), HOUSE SPEAKER(2), GOVs(4), PRESIDENT(5), VP(2)
c) Reduce current ALL Political Office Holders PAY CHEQUES by 51.5%, without exception
d) Do away with special remuneration to POLITICAL ADVISERS & PUBLIC SERVANTS e.g; Purchase of Private Vehicles, Houses, granting Govt paid Vacations, paying for 1st & Business Class Transportations, etc, etc...
e) Abolish payment of OVERSEAS MEDICAL BILLS for Political Office Holders.
f) Eliminate PRIVATE PRACTICE in public workforce
g) Eliminate participation of Public Workforce in Partisan Politics.
h) Institute EMPLOYMENT BY MERIT, and eliminate UNDEREMPLOYMENT.
i) Review and eliminate allocation of Govt paid POLITICAL AIDES & SUPPORT STAFF to Political Office Holders.

With (1) + (2) Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N65,000 comfortably

3. Move Nigeria MORE to Private Sector Driven Economy
a) Privatise ALL MOST of Federal Govt PARASTATALS & reduce Federal Direct Funded AGENCIES to 68% of the present.
b) Privatise ALL of STATE Govt PARASTATALS & reduce State Direct Funded AGENCIES to 19% of the present.
c) Reduce current DIRECT LABOUR JOB participation by 49%
d) Encourage more Working Hours until Nigeria economic stabilizes
e) Discourage UNIONISM in Public Workforce

With (1) + (2) + (3), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N101,500 comfortably.

4) Institute DEATH PENALTY to proven THEFT OF PUBLIC FUNDS no matter how little, and LIFE Jail Sentences for COLLABORATORS.

With (1) + (2) + (3) & (4), Nigeria would pay a minimum wage of N203,500 comfortably.

Instead for this useless NLC to act as a pressure group and pressure the govt to reduce politician's emoluments, make government leaner and merge unnecessary agencies in order to save massive funds that will be channelled to infrastructural development, they keep fighting for an increment that will be wiped out by VAT increment and attendant inflation in the market. Sometimes, I wonder the quality of people piloting the affairs of this NLC who only love to play to the gallery.

valentineuwakwe:
The Trade Union Congress side of the Joint National Public Service Negotiating Council on Monday called on the Federal Government to pay five months arrears of the new minimum wage dating back to April 18, 2019 when President Muhammadu Buhari signed the new minimum wage bill into law .
The government and organised labour came to an agreement on the new minimum wage on Friday, 182 days after Buhari had signed the bill.
Both parties agreed on 23. 2 percentage increase for workers at grade level 07 ; 20 per cent for those at grade level 08 ; 19 per cent for workers at grade level 09; 16 per cent for those at grade levels 10 to 14; and 14 per cent for workers at grade levels 15 to 17.
In a statement by the acting Chairman of the union , Anchaver Simon, and the Secretary, Alade Lawal , the workers ’ representatives also urged the government to keep to its promise of carrying out a general review of wages of public servants in the country.
The statement read in part, “ We wish to advise that since the 2019 National Minimum Wage was signed into Law by Mr President on April 18, 2019, the implementation should start from that date so as not to trigger another avoidable round of agitation by public service employees and their trade unions .
“ We are also glad that the government has taken note of the need for a general salary review in the public service . We are looking forward to this review and we hope that the Federal Government will keep to its promise which was made during the negotiation of consequential adjustments . ”
While thanking the leaders of the Nigeria Labour Congress ; Trade Union Congress ; the Minister of Labour and Productivity , Dr Chris Ngige ; Head of the Service of the Federation, Folasade Yemi - Esan; and other stakeholders, the union reminded all employers of labour that action would be taken against any of them that paid below the new wage structure .

We can't call this minimum wage rather salary increment, because minimum wage should be specify - N20,000, or N25000.

You don't know what you are talking about.....
The Federal government spend more than 2 trillion naira on salary of its workers at present.
The total amount of money that accrued to fg as revenue in 2018 is around 4 trillion..
Raising minimum wage to N45,000 will bring fg wage bill to over 5 trillion.... that means if we use all our money to pay civil servants, we will still be in deficit....

Have they even paid, I have been thrown into confusion as a Corps member, if they pay in arrears, are they going to pay Corpers in arrears also? what of those that have passed out recently? or is that Corpers are not part of this, I need clarification please although I know I'm not alone.

I pity those who don't understand that labor is just playing politics along with this government.

I don't see any significant difference all this noise abt minimum wage will make in the long run.

There will be an increase in fuel price,
Price of rice has already gone up, electricity, and everything we buy have seen increase in price.
