You shouldn’t use GDP and Heath care budget as a true measurement of Nigeria wealth because of our population and the northerns will throw the numbers off. The fact is most Nigerians use private hospital which is not captured, the GDP of southern Nigeria will be comparable to South Africa |

anonimi: European countries are largely homogeneous. Those that are not, have laws that make minorities feel a lot more comfortable. Most European countries made progress under authoritarian environment before they progressively became democracies. No democracy has been able to progress at China's pace in the last 500 years. China and India have a similar population. Compare and contrast their progress. Maybe the right phrase I should use is election circles because Nigeria is NOT a democracy. 2 Likes |

I can't agree less with u. This is a fact most of us have known for years. Nigeria needs alternatives n ingenuity to get out of this mess. A leadership with strong character can spur us up and catalyze the reaction that will bring about the much desired change. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Starboytwo: Do you know that in some communities in Germany, Holland etc, they completely rejected public power supply and developed their own renewable energy based supply to feed in each case, say 2000 homes? I don't see why we can't have private companies springing up to provide that service here. There are so many way to generate electricity using renewable energy sources, and it's not just solar. Heck, you can create electricity from cow dung. 2 Likes |

Rosskii: Germany, Italy, United Kingdom, France, Spain etc all have a smaller population but they all have more billionaires than Nigeria! There is something inherently wrong with the way things are done in Nigeria. If that wasn't the case, she should have several dozens of billionaires. Until Putin put things in place Russia was largely chaotic. Today Moscow has more billionaires than any other city in the world. This is not to say Russia doesn't have challenges but they've made significant progress in the last 2 decades. 4 Likes |

I think our problem is our mentality as a people. Naija mentality will never help the country. Naija mentality is based on greed. For example, you see people complaining about how bad the country is. If you randomly call each of them and give them 10m to develop their own communities, what is the probability that those common people will use all that money to develop their communities? I tell you that about 90% of those people will use 70% of that money to buy personal houses and cars for themselves and then use the remaining 30% of the money to do a shoddy job that would become bad again after 1 year. I am not talking of politicians here, I am talking of the ordinary people who are complaining on the streets. This is the reality of Nigeria and this is why Nigeria will not develop. 4 Likes 1 Share |

PHijo:What is the meaning of 'poor'. Poor means lack as a result of not having. Now, is not that we don't have, we have, and alot of it but mismagement, corruption, ineptitude, nepotism...name it, have killed the economy. Till today, we are still recovering abacha loot. |

dharrey2012:yes it's true, we need massive reorrentation gan, lately I have been very irritated of our OT and I wish we could change it... Today, just today, the boy helping a lady sell food in my street was washing some plate and was literally dumping all the nylons, pure water etc in the gutter, I gave him a knock, he cried, this is not the first time I warned him, his madam was not happy , but I made it clear it was a bad thing to do... Offcoure some people think my own is too much, but here comes raining season when all gutter block, they start raining curse on fashola, buhari, tinubu... Infact I've been having a good idea lately, fingers crossed 5 Likes |

PHijo: Dude, those Russian billionaires are the type you would not accept as legit were they to be Nigerian. They are tied to Putin and the Russian aristocracy like bees to honey. As for France, UK and the rest, they have so many billionaires for the same reason they are richer and more developed, etc, ie because they robbed the entire world of its resources, subjugated its peoples, and cornered their resources over the last 300 years. That cannot possibly be the path for Nigeria to develop, so don't expect us to match them in number of billionaires. 5 Likes 1 Share |
