Hello Nairalanders,

A naval officer by name, David Igbashal has been declared missing.

Until missing, he was working with the Naval Command at Calabar. The family and his office lost contact with him on 21st February when he was travelling from Calabar to Otukpo through Enugu. The incidence happened somewhere in Umuchi Ngbo, Enugu state, where he ran into gunmen and since then, nothing has been heard from him.

Anyone with information about him should please, contact 08162116271

Please, let's make this go viral until the Young Officer is found. Kindly share and share on all social media. God bless!!!

Dear Admins, this may have been posted in the wrong section, but please help move this to the FP for larger audience.

God bless NR.

Op, it is not possible to travel from Calabar to Otukpo through Enugu.

Idiot!

quote author=AxelandRed post=86976866]Sometime last week, I was going to Apapa from Trade Fair. I was stuck in traffic at Orile and within seconds something heart wrenching happened.

A commercial bus driver (an aged man) stopped briefly to drop a passenger in one of the new narrow speed lanes. Trust me, this didn't take him up to 15 seconds.

In commando style, two naval officers who were driving behind him in a civilian car jumped out of their vehicle, dragged him out of the bus and flogged him mercilessly with a leather whip while the old man knelt down wriggling in pain and screaming. How dare him delay them for 15 seconds. Worse was the fact that these guys didn't look above 30yrs.

I felt guilty for being so helpless at the man's agony.

Before you express your sympathy at whatever misfortune that may have befallen this guy, just think about the bus driver above and the multitude of Nigerians who have had same misfortune or even worse in the hands of other uniformed personnel.[/quote]

I wish I could feel sorry for him, but armed forces and police have been so brutal and inhumane to civilians that I can only shrug my shoulders.

This is a pity, that I don't feel anything for a fellow human, because of what his uniform represents.

It's just like saying because one Nigerian man is a sucide bomber then every Nigerian is a sucide bomber.

Not a nice way of thinking.

Igbashal I know the cadet well enough i believe he should be a member of 66rc. We were in the same batallion then...

But I believe NNS victory would have sent signal to every ship and a man hunt should be going on for him ..... I believe he will be found alive. And for all those who have been posting how naval officer do brutalize civilians, dz isn't the right time for that owing to the fact that those ones might be impersonating and I doubt Igbashal was a job marshal or something during his days. I think he stays in zaria sef. He will be found insha allah
Nah!!! Soldiers brutalize civilians on a daily basis. And u ll see other passerby soldiers joining hands to brutalize the civilian (i guess this counters ur point on IMPERSONATION). I dont feel a bit remorse wen i see them die in the hands of boko haram or things like dis happening to soldiers.

Why do u lack sense? Instead of u to pray for his return you are talking about being a Christian. Hope u know fireman boss was killed by your fellow Christians.

There was a video making the rounds, about a month ago, when about five of these NDA Cadets parked right in the middle of the Lagos Ibadan Express road bridge (after Toll gate), stopping all traffice and daring any "`bloody civilian" to come and challenge them.
These guys are under 30yrs of age as well, an average of 22yrs old!

It has been like this for a long time, whenever they release these cowards for holiday or after passing our, they begin to behave like animals.
While the missing Cadet (he is not yet an officer, until he finished fom NDA!) may not have partook in such idiocy, these bys and their officers must understand that harrassing and intimidating UNARMED Civilians, IS NOT a sign of bravery (we know many of them that saw boko haram and fled in all directions like chickens!), it is a sign of COWARDICE!
If the Civilians were also armed, can they trythe nonsense or do they think they are superman/
I wish he was found and recovered byt honestly, it is difficult to say any prayer for these little, untrained cowards in the NDA

Does that justify whipping him? Will you say same if he was a relative or friend of yours?

I never justified the action but the driver is at fault.

Nigeria security lack total intelligence gathering, he is not missing rather abducted by gunmen

Its high time for efficient private security company in Nigeria

Nothing state run works in Nigeria

I totally agree with you. It's high time we allow private security companies to guide us all.
The security forces are total failures.
Everything about public organisations have totally failed except corruption

So because some men in uniform acted like savages does it make all men in uniform animals? If not for these men Boko Haram would have created a caliphate in your hometown by now. Stop being insensitive. The young naval officer is missing with other innocent civilians. Wish them well unless you are suffering from incurable hatred.
