Over here in Port Harcourt, three days ago my guy mentioned it to me (when we were discussing this Corona virus issue) that his girlfriend said she bought a paint of garri for 1500. Something that he himself used to buy for 400naira.

I Don't know what the current price is now.

As at yesterday 1600 - 1800 at kpansia market in Yenegoa.

And we are crying we want to go to Church, to do what? When all we do is exploit each other.

Are we just religious with no Godliness / Christ likeness in us?

Sachet water is N20 in Abuja

In some places in Lagos, a bag goes for 200 naira now, which means they'll be selling a single sachet for 25/30naira.

Wait o, wetin Una dey use garri do sef...?
Personally, I don't like eba swallow. I only drink garri once in a while..

I prefer semo to eba

Same here. I stopped buying garri years ago, because they end up going bad from lack of consumption.

Now I stick to semo or poundo yam.

Is not only garri, I went to market today... Fish they normally sell #600 is now, #1200 or #1000 if you negotiate well... Meat now is #500 up... They don't sell below #500 again....

This is Nigeria..

Speaking of beef. I wanted to buy beef to mince for pies. I should have snapped what they were cutting for 1k! As if I was buying 200 naira suya.

Hi

3 weeks ago, I bought for 350,
A week after 400,
This week(on Monday), I bought for 500.

Was told today, 650.

Mind you the rice I bought for 350, is still 350 for derica(foreign rice), local rice goes for 250-300. The price is still the same.

But the garri they are doing at our backyard, is getting expensive every single day.

We no like ourselves for this Nigeria, those market women are just devil, as if that little gain would take them away from poverty.
. Is it only market women what about transporters. At the slightest excuse they balloon the prize

Lostz:
it seems Delta is where it is most expensive.

panic buying is driving the price up

Which is very ironic, because they produce their own garri. With the number of people who grow cassava and produce garri in Delta, it should be 200 naira per paint bucket.

Nigerians are wicked persons by nature. Our heart is full of evil thoughts.

From Garri to rice everything has added price when in other nations with kind hearted humans are distributing free food and dishing out low prices, the reverse is the case in Nigeria.

I was at the groundnut and banana stand last week, I picked a bottle of groundnut, the seller said 600...i noticed another bottle that the nuts caught my eye. She said that once is 1200 (she said it had no salt or ingredient) and it's for diabetic patients.
I said to her madam, this bottle is supposed to be way cheaper considering it has no ingredients as you claim. So any person with an illness in Nigeria must brake the bank to stay alive.

We are wicked people...

Panic buying shall end in the week. Then the price shall return to normal because most people would have stocked their homes with these items.

This wickedness is simply the reason for this disease.

We don't have any food that we can say, we produce in large quantities. America can do chicken, they have fishes, corn, fruits, juice, etc

China, Russia, Latin America, M.E, all have their staples in a robust way

We can all see the effects of a

* failed leadership structure and seriousness in Nigeria for more than 40 years

* failed educational system filled with runs degrees and criminality

* a planless society

* a visionless society

I can go on and on. We have to own up to our failures. No short cuts.

Even now that every nation is printing money, we don't have the light to power our money printer to print money non stop for a month. Our own machine might be the 1940s model if we even have one.
