This right here is why the Nigerian Government have no regard for the masses, Must you watch DSTV?. Misplaced priority, this attention and vexation right here can be directed to the Government for increasing VAT in the first instance

You can't blame TSTV bro. The kind of leaders we have are the kind of people who will sell us all out as long as they stand to benefit from it.

MTN and Multichoice bribe the hell out of the people in charge and greed will not let them say no. From what I read, it is our own bodies that frustrated TSTV and you can bet who was behind it all. Multichoice wants to have sole control over that industry in Nigeria. And our stupid leaders are letting them!

I weep for us.

Actually, no one frustrated TSTV.

Their problems began with poor service, then there was the BeIN agreement that wasn't, then there were the promises they made like interent with your decoder that they knew they could not keep.

TSTV frustrated TSTV. Not the government, not DSTV.

Startimes dey. Cheaper alternative . USE THEM.

If they leave the country, I believe you have the cash to provide jobs for all the Nigerians that would lose their jobs when that happens?

Or you can just abandon DSTV and change over to Startimes. Cheap and affordable.

LIES!

The best thing to do is stop patronising DSTV. it is that simple, use your money elsewhere. Why do you think you have the right to dictate for a company how to price her services? If you don't like it, stop patronising them. I don't understand Nigerians, it is simple economics. Look at the vast majority of the comments, people who failed economics in secondary school. Nonsense!
I don't use DSTV.
I'm a Startimes subscriber
That's why I was midly annoyed myself.
So kindly calm down

They might slash their prices but their profit would be affected. If their profit reduced many of their staffs may loose their jobs. The government should have thought of this when they signed that yeyetic bill.

I personally 'divorced' DSTV and Gotv years ago. I use Free-to-air both in my home and office. Free-to-air gives me over 600 channels including most of the channels DSTV and GOtv offer, so why should I throw away thousands of Naira every Month when I spent less than 20k on the Free-to-air?
What channels do you get?

South Africa does not have 'pay as you go', they have a packages system (same as Nigeria)

Infact, South Africa has the same level of packages system as does Nigeria, with their Premium package costing R800 (N17,662 in naira), Compact Plus R519 (11,484 naira) and Compact R399 (8,093 naira)..and as you can see it costs more than Nigeria's own

Kenya too has a packages system. 160+ CHANNELS costs 26,787 naira over there. Their cheapest rate costs 3,280 naira only for 110 plus channels.

As for 'sane climes' , UK 's Sky offers their ultimate package at 25 pounds monthly for the first 18 months. (12,000 naira approx)

I doubt any country in Africa or abroad offers pay as you go for regular customers...(Kwese TV offers pay as you go apparently)

You can switch to MyTv (N1450 for 3 months ), Startimes (N2000 , plus you would save more money), or stick with good old NTA, or any other local provider. (Or Netflix, if yer internet is powerful0

Is mytv still functioning??

Why can't NCC stop DSTV/GoTv from cheating Nigerians?

We've said it times without number that the South African company should embrace "Pay as you go" system of billing just like it is in SA and other sane climes.

Why increase tariff when people hardly get value for the money they pay. This rubbish has to stop.
The bastards at NCC collect bribe from Multi choice and look the other way, while Nigerians Suffer. This country is a ceespool
