Lol, you don't use Vim at all if you think Vs Code is better than in Vim in those things you mentioned. How do you highlight with the keyboard in Vs Code? Shift+direction keys to the position you want, using the mouse is even far more efficient than this grin grin grin unless you're talking about highlighting everything with Ctrl+a ofcourse.
Everyone has what's good for them. I prefer those ctrl whatever than typing commands.

One man's meat.....
Besides it's clear that you don't even know VS code shortcuts. You're mentioning normal keyboard shortcuts. That's not what I'm talking about

I'm not serious because I feel VS Code is faster for me than typing commands? OK.

Okay, maybe I don't know the Vs Code shortcuts you're talking about, are you talking of customized key bindings?

If vim don't support multi line selection in 2020
I think is useless

IntelliSense (autocomplete, error highlighting, greying out undeclared variables etc)
Emmet suggestions
Code formatting
Keyboard shortcuts
...
My gee, I can go on and on
I've already shared a screenshot on auto suggestion, emmet, code formatting, here's one on Linting.
Also notice the test runner

Can all these be done via the Vim emulator on VSCode?

Vs Code also have this little features, the extension just emulates Vim key bindings

I have been using ubuntu for 5years now bro

I have made use of vim and I know it is powerful
But I haven't go deep into its features and etc

But a web developer I think vim is not the best choice for web development

Bracket and sublime text are just years ahead of vim

Remember vim can be powerful but there is some area it is not advisable to use vim and web development vim scores below average for me , most stuff u need plugin to achieve in vim are out of box features for most editors

Hmmmm, why do you think it's not ideal for web development? I use it for web development and I find it better than Vs Code, especially with writing HTML. Bracket really never worked for me, it was misbehaving on my system so I got rid of it. Vs Code is a better text editor than Sublime imo, sublime is far faster and uses less system resources but Vs Code is a better text editor, my Vim set up emulates Vs Code and the only feature that don't work as good as when I used Vs Code is the CSS colour selector, I'm still looking for alternatives.

Try to understand bro vim might be almighty ide and editor but when it comes to web dev which I use bracket and sublime vim is just not as good as those two

U can use boat to travel to Europe but airplane is the best

lol see vim slander from those who haven't spent time to use and understand it.

vim is cooler than vs code tho, it's also way uglier lol but wayyyyyyy powerful

vs code is easier and more intuitive that's why its a better choice for most. If you want advance text editing vim all the way but if you want to spend time writing code, rather than figuring out how to save a file or quit vim use vs code.

at the end of d day, they are both tools use what feels comfortable and convenient for you in d end they both achieve same result. It's abt the user rather than the tool.

IMO vim makes you cool and baddass, like you know what you're doing lol

One question - have you ever used Vim in your career? Used, not like you opened it and can't figure out how to exit

Yes bro if u read well ,my parable was very easy to understand bro , it all boils down to choice , vim is powerful but not the right tools for me in the field I am in , if we can do competition with both editor trust me I will Give you handicap of 5minutes and still win u

I'd like to understand your reasoning, why do you think Vim is not suitable for web development? Cos I do Web development and I use Vim.

I don't know how you expect me to respond to your last statement; unless you can type more than 35WPM, use Emmet in a way we've not discovered yet then I don't really understand the point of your brag.

Or perhaps Vs Code has some hidden features I didn't touch for the 2 years I used it.
