When you have an international company who remit profit abroad. This is bound to happen when the operating country currency is devalued. A no increased means investors would be receiving less dollar monies even if there is an increased naira revenue. This is why Nigeria must and should build their own companies.

Even if a Nigerian builds a company that is similar, getting content from abroad, you pay in dollars not Naira, so you get the same issue of rate fluctuation. Something Nigerians do not want to understand. Do you think the likes of CNN, premier league and Co will collect Naira? This our Naija ppl sha

This is what Buhari's ineffective government has reduced Nigerians to. A level whereby they have no choice even in their own country. A level whereby they are treated with disrespect even in their own country. A level whereby foreign companies operating in Nigeria could impose new tariff/price regime on the citizens without any care for their feelings and with utmost disregard for the country's regulatory authorities.

We however take solace in the fact that all these nonsense will definitely end one day.

Important things of this nature that affect the consumers, masses and the whole country should be deliberated and govt should intervene and make a law or an act enabling the NCC to regulate their prices that will be moderate enough to satisfy both parties.

I heard other Africans and South Africans are paying lower than we do. This our government should be sensitive, concentrate and resolve this issue to avoid exploitation.

RATHER THAN PUTING THEIR FRUSTRATION AND ANGER ON THE CHURCH OF CHRIST. DO THE THINGS THAT ARE WHORTHWHILE, GET US THE BEST BERGAIN WITH MULTICHOICE, BREAK THE POWER OF MONOPOLY BEFORE THEY SELL NIGERIA, YOU CAN USE ALL THE LOOTED FUNDS FROM ABACHA, AND YOU WILL BE REMEMBERED FOR GOOD BY NIGERIANS.

I don't get why am independent, profit making company would require govt permission to increase prices. Instead of the govt interfering with such companies, why don't they try to break the monopoly that such companies possesses by encouraging home grown companies.

Multichoice has a monopoly in Nigeria market that need to be broken. because when demands outstripped supply, the prices will always go up.

This government is not sincere in its dealings that concerns the nigerian masses.

Very stupid comments.

Is it Buhari government that created the legal framework that brought Multichoice to Nigeria?

Or you think government can just interfere in a private foreign company's pricing policy without severe legal consequence?

Very soon you will blame Buhari for a broken plate in your house!

So Federal Govt was not thinking about the harsh economy in Nigeria before increasing Tax, it's when these people increases subscription rates that they are now shouting wolf.

"In us lies the fault".

Am not a fan of Multichoice whatsoever, my subscription has expired since March this year. I will rather download than waste money on useless subscription.

You can stream football matches live. With less than N500 data per week. In a month that's N2k. Sub for Netflix with N3600 and watch good movies of your choice. You can even do N1k night plan data and download new movies on Netflix and watch later.

Dstv is overrated and they are just extorting Nigerians with cheap cheap services.

On the other news, there's a way you can cheat them back that you won't be paying them a dime and you watch for free. They won't even notice. grin
