Let me reference Jesus as a role model why Christian are not suppose to be involved in politics:

PICTURE a scene from the year 32 C.E. It is late in the day. Jesus, the foretold Messiah, has already won great renown for healing the sick and even resurrecting the dead. Today, he has awed a crowd of thousands by performing powerful signs and by sharing teachings of God. Now he divides the hungry people into smaller groups. He prays to God and miraculously feeds them all. Then, to avoid waste, he collects the leftovers. How do the people react?—John 6:1-13.

Well, after seeing Jesus’ miracles and his skillful leadership in managing the crowds and caring for their needs, the people conclude that Jesus would be a perfect king. (John 6:14) Their response is not surprising. Remember that they were desperate for a good, effective ruler; their beloved homeland was under the oppressive rule of a foreign power. So they put direct pressure on Jesus to join in the political process. With that background in mind, consider his reaction.

“Jesus, knowing they were about to come and seize him to make him king, withdrew again into the mountain all alone,” says John 6:15. Jesus’ stand could hardly have been more decisive. He resolutely refused to get involved in the politics of his homeland. His stand never changed. He said that his followers were to take the same position. (John 17:16) Why did he take this stand?

Why Did Jesus Choose Neutrality?

Jesus’ neutrality regarding the politics of this world was well-grounded in Scriptural principles. Consider just two.

1.
“Man has dominated man to his injury.”

(Ecclesiastes 8:9) That is how the Bible sums up the history of human rule. Remember, Jesus existed as a spirit in heaven long before he came to earth as a man. (John 17:5) He thus knew that man, however well-meaning, lacks the ability to care properly for the needs of billions of people; nor was he created by God to do so. (Jeremiah 10:23) Jesus knew that the solution to mankind’s problems lay elsewhere—not in human governments.

2
“The whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one.” (1 John 5:19)

Do you find that statement startling? Many do. They think of sincere people who get involved in government because they want to make the world a better, safer place. Try as they might, though, even the most sincere rulers cannot overcome the influence of the one whom Jesus called “the ruler of this world.” (John 12:31; 14:30) That is why Jesus said to one worldly politician: “My kingdom is no part of this world.” (John 18:36) Jesus was the prospective King of God’s heavenly government. Had Jesus mixed in politics, he would have sacrificed his loyalty to his Father’s government.

Did Jesus teach, then, that his followers have no obligation to earthly governments? On the contrary, he taught them how to find the right balance between their responsibilities toward God and their obligations toward secular governments.

Jesus Respected Governmental Authority

Nigeria version of politics is not good for a true genuine Christian. At best they can serve as Special advisers. Because to win Nigeria elections, you must commit sin such as lying, stealing, blackmail, forgery, even murder
the things you listed are the most popular fruits of genuine and true Christians and that's what pastors and preachers practice everyday

Dear brothers and sisters , I like to ask , can a born again Christian get involve in active politics.?

Or

Will it be proper to always be praying for leadership which might have been involved in occult or an apostate or antichrist to rule well and favour the masses which oftentimes doesn't work out?

Or

We should just remain indifferent and hope for the best ??

Your take

First of all, none of you is born again. That thing you call born again is a joke. Your whole born again process is trashy.

Go back to the Bible and ask see Jesus' response to Nicodemus when he asked Jesus what it involves to be born again.

Second of all, no true Christian should partake in politics.

Ever wonder if God cares if you cast a ballot?
Or does He care how you cast your ballot?
The answer to both of those questions is “Yes.”
Yet how would Jesus have us vote?

 Our Biblical View of Politics

When Jesus was on earth,
He did not reside in a democratic republic like Nigeria.
He lived under the oppression of an imperial dictatorship and had no opportunity to cast a ballot.

He declared:“Render to Caesar that which is Caesars, and to God, the things that are Gods.”

Instead of distancing believers from any connection with a civil government, he indicated there was a level of responsibility to engage in civic matters.
Instead of having political leaders imposed upon us,
we have the God-given opportunity to select our leaders.

Shouldn’t God’s people be instrumental in influencing the selection?
After all, some set of values is going to govern or control the nation.
Given what Scripture reveals about the character of God, do you think He cares whether our leaders promote the killing of the unborn or the destruction of the biblical definition of marriage?

It only makes sense that Christians should be at the forefront of selecting leaders who will govern according to God’s principles and will formulate policies more likely to bring God’s favor.

Your vote is your power Fellow Nigerians.

We Rise!

God bless you sister Savvy.
Have a blessed Sunday ahead.

Thanks beautiful Sis.

Every Born again Christian should aspire to lead in Local, state and Federal levels of our political fabrics.

To avoid politics is to strangle oneself and the Christian fold as a whole.

HOW CAN WE AS CHRISTIANS AVOID POLICY MAKING, RULES MAKING, POLICY AND RULES IMPLEMENTATION, AND ADJUDICATION WHICH ENTAILS INTERPRETATION OF OUR LAWS AND REGULATIONS.

WHAT IS GOVERNANCE?
*LEGISLATORS MAKE LAWS AND SERVE AS CHECKS AND BALANCES ON THE EXECUTIVE AND JUDICIARY.

*THE EXECUTIVE PLAY VITAL ROLES IN LAW MAKING, USE THE LAWS MADE. MAKE THE MAJOR APPOINTMENTS IN ALL THE VITAL AREAS OF OUR GOVERNANCE, INCLUDING JUDICIAL OFFICERS AS WELL AS EXECUTORS OF MAJOR GOVERNMENT AGENCIES AND PARASTATALS.

*THE JUDICIARY INTERPRETS THE LAW AND IN FACT, THE LAW IS WHAT THE COURTS SAYS IT IS.

If christians decide to avoid governance or politics, the consequences are unimmaginable. When a law is made that no more worship will be allowed: the christains will and must adhere..........

So many varied, ignorant, informed and even confused answers.

When Israel confronted Samuel with their request "to be like other nations", what was God's response? "They have not rejected you but me".

What was the basis of accusing some people in the New Testament of "turning the world upside down" particularly that those folks were not educated? "They had been with Jesus".

The question is, how many people who have truly been with Jesus are interested in any form of politics?

The problem with today's church is that so many people who are not children of God became men of God. Goats and sheep don't have the same outlook on life.

People who are TRULY born again have no appetite for politics of any kind. They have many beautiful and creative ways of making life worth living for others, no matter who the politicians are. To them, persecution is normal.

Daniel was a politician. Worked at the highest level.

David was a king, a modern day president. Same was Solomon and the other great kings.

As for Christians, followers of Christ. Our kingdom is not of this world. But we can get involve.

Meaning no be do or die.

Re: Should A Born Again Christian Involve In Active Politics? by Nobody: 2:14pm On Sep 20, 2020
No. Christians are admonished to remain no part of the world - this involves maintaining neutrality in politics, protests and wars.

For people using the likes of David as an example, their cases were much different. They weren't politicians. They were KINGS appointed by God himself to rule the nation of Israel. His own people.

Today, God has no chosen nation of people. He doesn't anoint or appoint any ruler by himself. Politics is a dirty game riddled with occultism, deaths and immoralities of different sorts. Anybody who calls himself a born again Christian sister would not entangle himself in the web of politics, even if he has good intentions.

Until that time of salvation comes (whether you're going to heaven or remaining on earth, whichever your belief is), always keep your neutrality as Jesus Christ did.

Paying Caesar's things to Caesar involves paying taxes and trying to live as a law-abiding citizen. It has nothing to do with playing politics and saying you're born again. I'm sure Osinbajo has seen the den of immoralities in that VP seat. But he cannot be able to speak because once you're there, your hands are stained already.
