Floreat! B-)
Nice idea for KCOB's to know themselves on the forum. . (No matter how covert)
KC started waning in glory when S.I. Balogun left. . God rest his soul, he was a great PKC! cry
P.s. A boy, last boy! cheesy
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by Akosbaba(m): 10:03am On Nov 13, 2011
dude,kc's waning is ur opinion.awofunwa, ojemuyiwa and onoja :the pkcs during our time were ok too.balogun's status doesn't mean he was the only pkc that made sense
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by IbroSaunks(m): 10:07am On Nov 13, 2011
awofuwa was pkc during my time. i went Wednesday to collect my waec statement, someone told me "a boy last boy" is dead now. no bullying, no scaling, no parties, nothing!
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by IbroSaunks(m): 10:09am On Nov 13, 2011
and juniors are now in annex, which is messed up really.
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by yuzedo: 10:24am On Nov 13, 2011
Exactly! It is my opinion, and a very informed opinion from a valid standpoint! After all, I experienced S.I. Balogun to the full, as I did the fleeting "reign" of Atolagbe and Ojemuyiwa!
Compared to Balogun, they were lilliputans!
I was on a surname basis with Mrs. Y.O. Awofunwa whom I respected very much in my time @ annex, and I interacted once with Onoja, so I can claim to have experienced these individuals and can form a conclusion. Did u experience Balogun? No. So?? :/
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by IbroSaunks(m): 10:31am On Nov 13, 2011
sadly i didn't experience Balogun, though we heard Alot about him. when i entered, it was ojemuyiwa that was in charge. in my opinion, it was when they stopped making it compulsory for the pkc to be a kcob that things started getting wierd. i guess u have to go through kc life to understand it well. im sure Mr Balogun was a kcob.
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by yuzedo: 10:36am On Nov 13, 2011
Actually, Balogun wasn't an old-boy, however, KC was his pride and joy! He was my brother's principal @ Suleja Academy for the Gifted, (Pioneer principal infact which says a lot about his clout and standing), irrespective, he behaved like he was an Old boy to the core!
The posting of principals to KC from the ministry was a highly politicized "appointment", seeing as a PKC was adjudged higher in rep than a perm-sec. . . It was/is the juiciest portfolio and an honor indeed. Anyways, the current PKC, otunba is a KCOB, I'm sure he has the best interest of the school @ heart. .

Balogun was the principal during my time and i ended with ojemuyiwa 2nd term ss3 with ojemuyiwa.i must say that Balogun really changed things in kc during his tenure both in academics, sports, structure etc.
I learnt kc is old glory now and things have changed.I really enjoyed my stay in kc and i loved interhouse sport so much.i was in mckee-wright and we won almost all the time i was there.
Up KC.long live Kcoba
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by IbroSaunks(m): 10:51am On Nov 13, 2011
im sure he did. the thing is, they are making the good ol' school better, but some fun stuff are dying in the process. its the juniors to annex thing that irks me the most. wtf were they thinking?

mckee-wrights house for life! the cleanest house in the annex.
some things they eliminated, like bullying are actually for the good of the school in the long run.

Hahaha! A boy there! Man I miss those beautiful days though I was a day student.
Main camp was fuckin/g sweet. I remember how we used to explore "swamp" (the bush near basketball court) and how we used to tax junior boys when we got to JSS3.
Inter-house sports was the day we got to toast QC girls and get the most phone numbers. Also I remember PKC Balogun(our set was the set in which he became PKC) and the passion he had for the school even though not an old boy.
I also remember when we moved to SS1 (Annex) and we once again became junior boys again and had to wait 3 years until we became seniors.
Damn, I remember being 'whozed' by Balogun one day during assembly for making noise when in Annex. The slap was fuckin:g heavy(he was well known for his slap).

God!! I won't trade anything for those days. God bless KC.

FLOREAT!!

Mr S.I Balogun was the best PKC i ever met, the others after didnt have the charisma this man had.Am sure for those that met him,the mere sight of his car coming will see boys scrambling & on few occassions,he wont be in d car.The Ojemuyiwa that was fondly called Odemuyiwa was crap.Imagine him sleeping in the assembly hall on the 1st day of duty while being introduced to us,
Anyways when the call is sounded, all must answer *******
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by IbroSaunks(m): 2:20pm On Nov 13, 2011
yeah, i resumed when ojemuyiwa took over, no feistness in that man whatsoever. and what kings college has always needed is someone with fire in him (or her). someone tough.
Re: A Thread For Kings College Lagos Old Boys. by Jidefido(m): 3:16pm On Nov 13, 2011
I remember when i s a junior prefect of Panes house, how i flogged my juniors mercilessly cos we came last in inspection, cldnt do d same wen i became the house captain in my SS3, i didnt really suffer in main campus cos i ws a skool son to uche mbaduga,a feared senior even among his mates bt mehn i suffered, wen i min suffered,i SUFFERED in annexe, dat i had to repeat SS1.

I finished for the school 2002. I go around Annex every now and then. I feel ashamed of the current set. There are barbed wires everywhere now {what the Zap.I.N.G CRAP!}. In my time, they used to fall fences {literally}, around Freje's side. I feel so ashamed. That school is now churning out small boys with no liver. VERY PATHETIC!!!!!!!

What? When I left, Awo {as she was called then} was VP. I always knew that if that woman ever got to PKC, KC would seize to be KC.

I don't think awofuwa sucked at all, she was a lady, but she was still ok as pkc ,
