Reasons. They practice and also preserve Igbo culture and Traditions.
If Nigeria stops existing, tradition will take up power through them.

But building industries no be bad idea.

It's not commissioning, it's Dedication. It's not don by a politician but by a bishop. They were only invited to come and witness the dedication which with or without them it will still be dedicated. It's like inviting Ugwuanyi for your child dedication.
However seeing how beautiful that church it, how the church used the best materials to build, but when our theiving politicians want to build a hospital, they will make it look like chicken pen or piggery. See as the church fine

Yes not a bad idea but the Church will hardly manage the industry and most likely will drag its image in the dust with the calibre of corrupt people that may be in charge. It may even lead to serious fights. What they do is to build schools that will produce talents that can as well build industries. The problem is that the government failed in its own role in creating enabling environment for companies to thrive.

No water, no electricity, no good roads, no security, no proper financing. What do you want the church to do? Not their fault at all.

Bro chill, the Igbo leaders did not commission the cathedral, rather they with the dedication of the worship centre which was completed after 30years of the foundation laying. An invitation was extended to them and came, what's bad about it, or they would rather not come?
Some of them there are not as bad as most of the Biafra agitators, just that power has not been given to them, then you will know how bad they. Biafra when restored if for all.
To GOD be the Glory for successful dedication of the worship centre (CATHEDRAL).

Wow! St. Teresa is finally completed, i served in Nsukka where i stayed in the Bishop's court in New Anglican road by sharp bend. from 2010-2011. i am very grateful to the then Bishop Francis Okobo who gave us accommodation and fed us well. Glory to Jesus!
