Many of us who went to boarding schools still believe those maltreatments were to make us "hard". The funny thing is, it doesn't give you an edge over anyone be it academically, mentally or physically.

Put an average Nigerian in a position of power he will abuse it.

I remember almost flogging one of my classmates to death with a cutlass for this nonsense back then. It's not just a boarding school issue, even day students engage in it, I can recall a particular classmate who joined us in SS1, he became the ring leader in less than a month

When religious bodies were clamouring for Government to return back mission schools to the owners ,one would have thought that it was for raising morally sound children for the benefit of the society but truth is these mission run schools are so inept and corrupt .
