Wish I could apply anti-rust too but this is beyond, see fuel tank for instance, I had to change the arm too and car was looking very attractive, engine is superb too, if not that I n[b]otice smell of petrol while driving and the vehicle seems to consume fuel than normal[/b], I wouldn't have known something like that is underneath, ordinary finger will pierce iron in the arm.

Why use metal for fuel tank instead of plastic or thermosetting plastic.

The fuel filters will block from time to time due to metal particles.

Road salt used to melt snow on the road corrodes the under part of cars. It snows heavily in countries like Canada, so I'm not surprised when people say Canadian cars are often affected.

Can anyone advise? Thank God this thread is for car lovers. I have a cousin who wants to buy between a Golf 3 and a Toyota Yaris...(that very tiny toyota) he wants to give it to a driver for cab..I advised him on golf 3 because the parts are cheap. But isn't that an outdated car?

Had a similar experience last year.
Bought a fine looking car from Canada.
Had to apply anti-rust though.
