Of course Darkfall is very different, we went off in a different direction and we keep following the wishlist, adding to it, and we've been listening to our community and playerbase very carefully. We made mistakes because we tried a lot of new things but we're constantly learning from our experience. The monumental effort that went into making Darkfall is dwarfed by the effort that is going into its evolution. We're not just supporting the game, we're engaged in full-blown game development.

I'm not trying to suggest that we're doing things better or that we try harder. What I'm saying is that we took a lot of risks in an effort to make an innovative game and we keep taking these risks by staying true to course. Whether what we did pushes the genre any further, only time will tell. In the meanwhile we have players of ours leaving Darkfall for the next big thing, and shortly after darkfall gold farming returning to our game because, so far, they can't get what we offer anywhere else. We're not talking about millions of players here but the fact that we've actually launched this game and it's successful to the point that we can continue doing what we love, makes us successful. Who knows what we could have accomplished with more resources, but we're grateful for what we have right now.

I think the event shows some of the potential of what the game could be or have been; but it also shows the flaws in what the game is. Giving players missions to do on varied worlds regardless of their level is excellent – it keeps the worlds alive even after the main leveling zerg has moved onto the worlds designated for the level cap. The previous plague mission showed this in a concentrated form as it brought flocks of players of all levels to Tattooine. Now the players are flocking to Nar Shaddaa and (Republic side at least) to Coruscant. I just hit level 9 on Drooga's Barge, when i decided to hit up Daragon Trail to see if I could get an FP in. I got lucky! The No Pants Guild was running an Ops and I got the pleasure of joining.

They had lofty goals of SM Denova, which they will no doubt achieve, but instead we hit up HM Eternity Vault. We were ultimatly unsuccesfull at downing HM because of the DPS wall. Let it be known that out of about 6 attempts they only reason we died before the enrage was b/c I didn't heal with enough Hate. Yup even the 11k HP Assasin DPS moved like a seasoned Raider, which they all were. From what I heard they've been running with swtor credits each other for 4 years. Sounds like another guild I know…

While we're certainly still enjoying the game, we've been hearing the rumor mill state that in recent months it seems that the MMO has lost a bit of steam as the game sees its initial sub numbers purportedly decrease. For us, we remain on the bandwagon as the game offers a ton more beyond simply playing through one side's storyline. In this article we'll recap some of the mid-level content (levels 25-35), cover what was recently released in patch 1.3 and even discuss some wish-list items we hope to see in future updates.

I tend to poll the fellow nerds at my day job quite often about what games they play, what they like and what their perception is of games they aren't playing. With SWTOR it seemed like a few of us bit into the bandwagon quite hard, overdosed completely during the first two months of release and eventually had to take a step backward. I started up a Sith Marauder while a friend of mine built up a Jedi Knight. While our in-game styles were much the same, the storyline perspectives were quite different.
