babacha:

" As with many other developing countries, the multinationals in Nigeria had been operating under what is called a concession system, with NNPC being the concessionaire, while the companies are the operators. "

the above statement was copied from NNPC wedsite, u cannot come into nigeria and explore oil without NNPC having a share, NNPC may choose to enter a production sharing contract with any company and they share according to agreement , BUT even though NNPC is not in a production sharing contract, they still have a share as the owner of the crude. that is why u see DPR rep in any terminal or FPSO and u cant sell any crude without there knowledge. the production at agbami is not just for famfa and chevron, the concessionaire also have a share.

individual think and plane differently, i have both international and local training in my field. the certificate to work abroad is not a problem. while u may choose to come down to trainee so as to earn high in future, i prefer to earn higher or remain where i am and invest my current earning in my already existing business, while you are thinking that after two years u can pay me my salary, have u also think that i have an investment that i need money to expand and if i put in more money to expand it for two years, i bet u, u will not see my back in two years time, am not planing to remain as employee all trough my life. i need to pay people also. if u have a business that is paying u well now in addition to ur salary and u are thinking of how to expand it to pay u more, u will not think the way u are thinking now

goodluck to u talent, all the best

I overheard some chevron staffs wanna join Famfa oil.. i think they pay very well. I know an engineer working with them and he earns bigger than his mates in chevron

Famfa has money but less staff. Chevron has more money but too much staffs. Imagine if you wanna link that to how good they can pay

Bros relax... If yoruba factor will come into play... Dey wouldn't av allow you to even reach final stage... Only yoruba would av allowed to reach final stage... So forget Dat yoruba mentality and be prayerful and hopeful.

Oga, there is no yoruba factor here oo. its is strictly on merit. four electrical/instrumentation were called. two yoruba and two from Delta.

All the best to all

K... I think everybody in d same category were given different time of interview... Can u confirm dis?

Yes, no two people have the same time. i know of three guys (me inclusive) with three different time..meaning going late is a disaster. and the interview is likely to be rigorous.

I think I av 2 people (1 instrument... 1 HSE) whose dere date read Thursday 27th and dey av responded to dere mail and dere interview day is Friday... I Instrument tech is Friday and not Thursday(my tot though).

Myself I av mail dem concerning d environmental on Saturday... But till now dey av not responded to my mail.

Hmmm..Thanks for the feedback bro.. i will still await their mail, if not, i will go there on thursday for confirmation and to play safe. to avoid stories that touched the heart that i missed my interview.

As per ur situation, it s dicey o. if you dont get a reply, i will rather you go before environmental and hang around that area. just to be safe.

Guys kindly check Ur invitation and ensure d date and day of d interview tally e.g Thursday 27th instead of Friday 27th. If dere is discrepancies on urs as stated kindly reply back Ur invitation to confirm Ur actual date. Some of my colleagues has done dis and dey av replied dem.
Also for Production Operators like myself... D 28th is it not an environmental day for Lagos as dere used to be on every Saturday ending a month? And d interview is 9am Dat day... I don't know may be dere is no environmental Dat day sha... Pls anybody can help us confirm whether environmental has been canceled for dis month. I av mail dem sha but I av not gotten any response.

Thanks for pointing this out man. mine is also Thursday 27th. I will stick with thursday though. but still send the mail as suggested

Calm down guys. Anxiety will not draw nearer the next stage, neither will it push that further. You will see, you will know.

However, as expected marking is over, approx 200 scripts of mainly multiple choice wouldn't be tough task though. Candidates are being ranked based primarily but not only on test scores. There's a compilation ( don't know if brought to test venue) containing qualifications, bosiet, exp/affiliate, etc. These are weighted with weak bias such that for example Mr A could score 5 points higher than Mr B, but B might be ranked higher for having BOSIET/MSc (for HSE/DDE) or HND for operators/technicians. A couple of guys had PhD though. This method wasn't designed to fail anyone. This exercise was cut out to be highly organized and professionally conducted. Merit is the watchword.

Meanwhile, as indications of the indigenous company in question emerged, people who know people have besieged the company directors pushing for their candidates, even those who didn't take test. Hopefully this will not scuttle the process, at least to a significant level.

As soon as the parties involved conclude arrangements, highest ranking ones would be scheduled for interview/further examinations. Different days for different categories. Successful ones are expected to start Dec/Jan.

I am only privileged to access some information. I do not work for any of the companies and at the same time, I have limitation as to the specifics that I can reveal.

These are current standings and one woman/man can stand and turn around the scenarios at will. So they are not cast on stone.

Good luck everyone. People will be contacted just soon.

This information is well appreciated bro. I wish everyone and myself best of luck as we impatiently anticipate the next stage.

The test was tough even with the one hour given. Baba GOD na your hand we dey o! If they decide to take everyone, May GOD bless them plenty. May their Oilfield be blessed as well. smiley smiley smiley smiley. Some people just buzz in to read the comments of others. Giving back to the society is where we are now...

i wish they will be bringing in a new FPSO self. with that, the likelihood of taking everyone is high.

How come only the HND roles have been sharing views? Drilling Engineers and HSE Engineers how una waka?

Na so the test hard? I gathered from friends after the test that some of the questions like labeling the drilling rig, HSE acronyms and entropy were similar to both roles...

Shortlisting is going to be based on general performance...Good luck guys..

i learnt the HSE part was pretty tough. Asking NEBOSH stuffs

Well only God knows what dey used in selection for test... But I think d interview will be based on experience in d field since it's for experience position and not trainee... My thought dou

But we dont know how many they intend to absorb. whether they are recruiting for a new field or still AGBAMI Oil field

If u av oil and gas experience I don't think d grade will be matter anymore... Did u or Ur friend has oil and gas experience? I av second class upper(2:1) with over 4 years of oil and gas experience...

Yeah, i agree experience was key in their decision process

OK... I understand u now... Actually I can't say may be dey invited OND... But dey suppose na if d person has oil and gas experience since d required qualification is OND and HND.... Even BSc Dat is not d required qualification was invited... Like me I have B.sc and I was invited.

They invited my guy with MSc self (with oil and gas experience). The truth is that the competition gets stiffer by the day.

but what is the criteria used to select those they call for the test because most of my friends are not called

My guess is that they thoroughly scrutinized all the applicants CVs before inviting. direct experience in the oil and gas was key
