The 3008 is all over Abuja road, including 4008. So I am surprised you have not seen the Lion, unless you don't stay in Abuja.

As for parts availability. Its a brand new vehicle. No tokunbo yet. So I don't expect you to start seeing parts in spare parts market, except in Peugeot dealerships scattered all over the country. You don't expect to service a brand new vehicle in under mango tree mechanic workshop, do you?

Ikenna

That explains it. I stay in Lagos. Thank you for your response

Hi IK,
I stumbled upon this thread and am so loving it. I have a 406 prestige and it has never given me a tough problem as she drives and is very responsive. However; the dashboard LCD display does not work as it just illuminates the orange light, but won't display any information. What could be the cause of this? I really would love to fix this issue. Thank you!

Well, that's under mango tree talk. Ignore those tales. They are fables.

It sounds like the MFD (Multifunction Display) is faulty. Replace it with another. Cost about 2k. Heat seems to be the killer of the MFD.

Thanks Ikenna,
Can the MFD be purchased at any Peugeot parts dealer? Is there a common name for it? As I don't want them to give me the wrong thing. Also; is it just a component? I would appreciate a picture of it pls. Thanks a million.

Oga ikenna, I saw this pug today and instantly liked it. Twas very clean and interior was still very much in order. I dreamed of what twill be like to wipe this peugeot 505 turbo, and having the great honour of "possibly"reducing your 2.8L V6 505 to a follower. grin. Out of all that,If I may ask have you driven a 505 turbo?how was the feel? And how do you think it will fare against your V6? Question is also open to the house.

It depends on the Turbo model. The phase 1 505 Turbo has lesser power, the same with 1985 unique model, I think. But the phase II Turbo with N9TEA engine will beat the V6 (ZN3J), since it has more power.

I haven't driven a turbo one. But I find the V6 more attractive because of its smooth revving to red zone which the I-4 lacks. From the owners, it becomes harsh as engine speed increases, unlike the V6 becomes smoother and sweeter to listen to as the rpm increases up to red zone.

For Lion owners who have not joined WhatsApp community, you are missing a lot.

A lot of information is shared in both houses, like phone contacts of BSI specialists, mechanics and some DIY tips on Peugeot systems, including brand of parts best suited for Lions.

Quite a lot of useful information on Lions have been disclosed by members. So, its up to you.

I do hear some noise whenever i'm driving my 406 prestige especially from passenger's back side. I met a mechanic who advised me to change my "tyroid and bar linkage" which i did but the noise continued. Now, it's as if the noise has also moved to the windows. I took the car back to the mechanic today and he toldme that the noise is from the body, which is very common with 406 cars. He's also of the opinion that i should manage it like that but the noise is very annoying and embarassing. He also suggested changing the shocks which he formerly told me that were still good.
Out of frustration, I went to another mechanic who told me that the noise is,from the edges of the rear glass and that its synominous with all 406. He also said that my shock is okay. Honestly, i don"t know what to do.

Pls, how do i tackle the noise issue?

Then, your fox is not Prestige.

Anyway. Go into the car, close the door, insert the key in ignition switch, switch on the ignition, wait for 5 secs, then press and hold the button on the remote for 3 secs, release the button, wait for 5 secs, switch off the ignition switch, remove the key from ignition switch, wait for 5-10 secs, press the remote button. The remote should start working again.

Thanks Ikenna, will try that out. However; my fox is a prestige but I've changed the key set once, 2 yrs ago. It originally came with a 3 or 4 button key.

No fox has more than 2 button remote control (factory).

Meanwhile, Prestige is just a badge PAN gave some foxes they produced. But most dealers or people would buy the badge and paste on imported foxes as well.

Please what is the major issue with this type of peugeot 407 as most of the discussion here is on 406?

Major issue? I can't think of any. Just the usual wear and tear, just like every other car. Or are you asking if there is a peculiar issue 407 has 406 don't? Because there is no car that does not have one.

Hmmm! Where do i even start. The truth is, I am very hungry right now. So i will need to fill that stomach with an Elephant before I could proceed. grin Hope you know Elephant is our Lunch? cheesy Find out here:

https://www.nairaland.com/1832246/camry-big-daddy-peuguot-406

Anyway, 407 is a successor of 406, an improvement. 406 & 407 both share the same engines. As for transmissions, Aisin AM6 & BVA was added, including the BVM6 in 407 which 406 dont have.

Peculiar issues with 407: 407 have 2 Ball joints (upper & lower) on each wheel unlike 406 with one each. The lower ball joint on 407 do fail, which you wont experience in 406, which you will likely not experience in 406. Note that 407 ball joint does not pull out like the other brand that is notorious with ball joint issues. The worst it does it shake the whole front end at every pothole you jump. I have never seen one in Abuja that pulled out. You live in Abuja too, so can tell. Since the symptom is very pronounce once it fails, you will know when to replace them. Or you simply replace them periodically. Notwithstanding, it appears the series II was corrected of that issue, which seems to be the wheel hub positionig or design.

Aside the Ball joint issue, 407 has no other peculiar issue. But of course its newer than 406, so body parts or other parts it doesnt share with 406 cost more.

See, I have treated these things already in a DVD i produced recently on Peugeot cars. Since you are in Abuja, why not come and pick yours? Its just N500. You will find out that after watching the DVD, you will have most your questions answered. YOu can easily reach me on my mobile phone if you want to get yours. Find below a thread i opened on the DVD:
