Question:
Was Islam's "perfect man" sexually restrained?


Summary Answer:
Muhammad had sex with just about anyone he pleased, thanks to Allah's
extraordinary interest in his personal sex life, as immortalized in the
Qur'an.
Although the Qur'an didn't appear to have enough space for topics like
universal love and brotherhood (which Muslims sometimes insist are there,
but aren't), the list of sexual partners that Muhammad was entitled to is
detailed more than once, sometimes in categories and sometimes in
reference to specific persons (ie. Zaynab and Mary).
Muhammad was married to thirteen women, including eleven at one time. He
relegated them to either consecutive days or (according to some accounts)
all in one night. He married a 9-year-old girl and even his adopted son's
wife. On top of that, Muhammad had a multitude of slave girls and
concubines with whom he had sex - sometimes on the very days in which they
had watched their husbands and fathers die at the hands of his army.
So, by any realistic measure, the creator of the world's most sexually
restrictive religion was also one of the most sexually indulgent
characters in history.



The Qur'an:
Allah managed to hand down quite a few "revelations" that sanctioned
Muhammad's personal pursuit of sex to the doubters around him.
Interestingly they have become part of the the eternal, infallible word of
the Qur'an, to be memorized by generations of Muslims for whom they have
no possible relevance.
Qur'an (33:37) - "But when Zaid had accomplished his want of her, We gave
her to you as a wife, so that there should be no difficulty for the
believers in respect of the wives of their adopted sons, when they have
accomplished their want of them; and Allah's command shall be performed."
No doubt millions of young Muslims, trying to outdo one another at
memorizing the Qur'an, have wondered about what this verse means and why
it is there. In fact, this is a "revelation" of convenience that Allah
just happened to hand down at a time when Muhammad lusted after his
daughter-in-law, Zaynab, - a state of affairs that disturbed local
customs. The verse "commands" Muhammad to marry the woman (following her
husband's gracious divorce). As for why this should be part of the
eternal word of God...?
Qur'an (33:50) - "O Prophet! surely We have made lawful to you your wives
whom you have given their dowries, and those whom your right hand
possesses out of those whom Allah has given to you as prisoners of war,
and the daughters of your paternal uncles and the daughters of your
paternal aunts, and the daughters of your maternal uncles and the
daughters of your maternal aunts who fled with you; and a believing woman
if she gave herself to the Prophet, if the Prophet desired to marry her--
specially for you, not for the (rest of) believers; We know what We have
ordained for them concerning their wives and those whom their right hands
possess in order that no blame may attach to you; " This is another
special command that Muhammad handed down to himself that allows virtually
unlimited sex, divinely sanctioned by Allah. One assumes that this
"revelation" was meant to assuage some sort of disgruntlement in the
community over Muhammad's hedonism.
Qur'an (33:51) - "You may put off whom you please of them, and you may
take to you whom you please, and whom you desire of those whom you had
separated provisionally; no blame attaches to you; this is most proper, so
that their eyes may be cool and they may not grieve, and that they should
be pleased" This is in reference to a situation in which Muhammad's wives
were grumbling about his preference for sleeping with a slave girl (Mary
the Copt) instead of them. Accordingly, Muhammad may sleep with whichever
wife (or slave) he wishes without having to hear the others complain... as
revealed in Allah's literal and perfect words to more than a billion
Muslims.
Qur'an (66:1-5) - "O Prophet! Why ban thou that which Allah hath made
lawful for thee, seeking to please thy wives?..." Another remarkable
verse of sexual convenience concerns an episode in which Muhammad's wives
were jealous of the attention that he was giving to a Christian slave
girl. But, as he pointed out to them, to neglect the sexual availability
of his slaves was against Allah's will for him!
Qur'an (4:24) - "And all married women (are forbidden unto you) save those
(captives) whom your right hands possess." Allah even permitted Muhammad
and his men to have sex with married slaves, such as those captured in
battle.



From the Hadith:

Muslim (8:3309) - Muhammad consummated his marriage to Aisha when she was
only nine. (See also Bukhari 58:234 and many other places). No where in
the reliable Hadith or Sira is there any other age given.

Bukhari (62:18) - Aisha's father, Abu Bakr, wasn't on board at first, but
Muhammad explained how the rules of their religion made it possible. This
is similar to the way that present-day cult leaders manipulate their
followers into similar concessions.

Muslim (8:3311) - The girl took her dolls with her to Muhammad's house
(something to play with when the "prophet" was not having sex with her).

Bukhari (6:298) - Muhammad would take a bath with the little girl and
handle her.

Muslim (8:3460) - "Why didn't you marry a young girl so that you could
sport with her and she sport with you, or you could amuse with her and she
could amuse with you?" Muhammad posed this question to one of his
followers who had married an "older woman" instead of opting to handle a
child.

Bukhari (4:232) - Muhammad's wives would wash semen stains out of his
clothes, which were still wet from the spot-cleaning even when he went to
the mosque for prayers. Between copulation and prayer, it's a wonder he
found the time to slay pagans.

Bukhari (6:300) - Muhammad's wives had to be available for the prophet's
handling even when they were having their menstrual period.

Bukhari (93:639) - The Prophet of Islam would recite the 'Holy Qur'an'
with his head in Aisha's lap, when she was menstruating.

Bukhari (62:6) - "The Prophet used to go round (have sexual relations
with) all his wives in one night, and he had nine wives." Muhammad also
said that it was impossible to treat all wives equally - and it isn't hard
to guess why.

Bukhari (5:268) - "The Prophet used to visit all his wives in a round,
during the day and night and they were eleven in number." I asked Anas,
'Had the Prophet the strength for it?' Anas replied, 'We used to say that
the Prophet was given the strength of thirty men.' "

Bukhari (60:311) - "I feel that your Lord hastens in fulfilling your
wishes and desires." These words were spoken by Aisha within the context
of her husband having been given 'Allah's permission' to fulfill his
sexual desires with a large number of women in whatever order he chooses.
(It has been suggested that Aisha may have been speaking somewhat wryly).

Muslim (8:3424) - One of several narrations in which a leering Muhammad
orders a clearly startled woman to suckle a grown man with her breast so
that he will become "unlawful" to her - meaning that they can live under
the same roof together.

Tabari IX:137 - "Allah granted Rayhana of the Qurayza to Muhammad as
booty." Muhammad considered the women that he captured and enslaved to
be God's gift to him.

Tabari VIII:117 - "Dihyah had asked the Messenger for Safiyah when the
Prophet chose her for himself... the Apostle traded for Safiyah by giving
Dihyah her two cousins. The women of Khaybar were distributed among the
Muslims." He sometimes pulled rank to reserve the most beautiful captured
women for himself.

Tabari IX:139 - "You are a self-respecting girl, but the prophet is a
womanizer." Words spoken by the disappointed parents of a girl who had
'offered' herself to Muhammad (he accepted).


Additional Notes:

Muhammad's sexual antics are an embarrassment to those Muslims who are
aware of them. This is particularly so for their prophet's consummation
of his marriage to Aisha when she was only nine years of age. The thought
of a 52-year-old man sleeping and bathing with a young girl is intensely
unpleasant and it reflects the disgusting character of a sexual glutton
rather than a holy man. Critics even allege that Muhammad was a
pedophile.

Some Muslims respond by denying the hadith itself, which is a mistake.
The accounts of Muhammad sleeping with a 9-year-old are no less reliable
than those on which the five pillars of Islam are based. They have been
an accepted part of tradition and did not become controversial until
social mores began to change with the modern age.

The charge of pedophilia may or may not be true, depending on how it is
defined. Technically, Muhammad did have a sexual relationship with a
child, but Aisha was also the youngest of his twelve wives. Zaynab was in
her 30's when she attracted the unquenchable lust of the prophet. We
don't know the age of Muhammad's sex slaves. They may or may not have
been as young as Aisha, but there is no point in speculating.

Prior to the medical advances of the last century, marriage occurred at a
much younger age across all societies. When life expectancy was in the
mid 20's (or lower), it made no sense to wait until 19 to start having
children. Otherwise, one ran the risk of not being around to raise them.
In short, childhood as we know it was abbreviated by the reality of the
times.

Another strong piece of evidence against Muhammad being a pedophile is
that, according to the same Hadith, he waited from the time Aisha was six
(when the marriage ceremony took place) until she turned nine to
consummate the relationship. Although the text doesn't say why, in all
probability it was because he was waiting for her to begin menstrual
cycles - thus entering into "womanhood." It is unlikely that a pedophile
would be concerned about this.

On the other hand, Muhammad passed down revelations from Allah that
clearly condoned sleeping with underage girls, even by the standard of
puberty. Qur'an (65:4) relates rules for divorce, one of them being that
a waiting period of three months is established to determine that the
woman is not pregnant. But the same rule applies to "those too who have
not had their courses," meaning girls who have not begun to menstruate.
(In our opinion, this would have been a great time for Allah to have said
something else instead like, "a real man is one who marries an actual,
grown woman"... but that's just us).

Thanks to Muhammad's extremely poor judgment (at best) and explicit
approval of pedophilia, sex with children became deeply ingrained in the
Islamic tradition. For many centuries, Muslim armies would purge
Christian and Hindu peasant villages of their menfolk and send the women
and children to harems and the thriving child sex slave markets deep in
the Islamic world.

When it comes to child marriage, contemporary clerics warn fellow Muslims
against succumbing to the disapproval of the Christian West: "It behooves
those who call for setting a minimum age for marriage to fear Allah and
not contradict his Sharia, or try to legislate things Allah did not
permit. For laws are Allah’s province; and legislation is his excusive
right, to be shared by none other. And among these are the rules governing
marriage.”

The Ayatollah Khomeini, who married a 12-year-old girl, even gave his
consent to using infants for sexual pleasure (although warning against
full penetration until the baby is a few years older). In April, 2010, a
13-year-old Yemeni girl died from injuries suffered to her womb during
"intercourse".

Some clerics show relative mercy on underage girls by advocating a process
known as "thighing" (also known as child molestation in the West).
According to a recent fatwa (number 23672), an imam answers this question:
"My parents married me to a young girl who hasn't yet reached puberty. How
can I enjoy her sexually?" by telling the 'man' that he may "hug her, kiss
her, and ejaculate between her legs."

Muhammad's penchant for girls so much younger than him was such that at
least two of his father-in-laws (Abu Bakr and Omar, the first two Caliphs)
were actually younger than him as well. This disappointing pattern is
very much at odds with the sort of sexual discipline that one might expect
of a true "prophet of God."

Muhammad's pursuit of Zaynab, the wife of his adopted son is almost as
tough for Muslims to explain. This is because it not only raises a
similar question of moral character, but also casts suspicion on whether
his so-called prophecies were really divine revelation or dictates of
personal convenience. According to one biographer, even Aisha appears to
be somewhat doubtful of Muhammad's claim that Allah commanded him to marry
Zaynab, wryly remarking, "Truly Allah seems to be very quick in fulfilling
your prayers."

So controversial was Muhammad's desire to marry his adopted son's wife
that he had to justify it with a stern pronouncement from Allah on the
very institution of adoption, which has had tragic consequences to this
day. Verses 33:4-5 are widely interpreted to imply that Islam is against
adoption, meaning that an untold number of children in the Islamic world
have been needlessly orphaned - all because Muhammad's lustful desires for
a married woman went beyond even what the other six wives that he
possessed at the time and a multitude of slaves could satisfy.

Some Muslims deny that Muhammad was married to more than four women at a
time, merely on the basis that the Qur'an only gives permission for
marrying four. Unfortunately, Muslims historians disagree. Only one of
Muhammad's last eleven wives died before him (Zaynab bint Khuzayma). The
rest outlived him by many years.

Muhammad forbade his ten widows from remarrying, even making sure that
this "divine" order was forever preserved in the eternal word of Allah -
Qur'an (33:53). To add insult to injury, they were all summarily
disinherited from Muhammad's estate by his successor (courtesy of another
divine order "given" to Abu Bakr from Allah).

In summary, Islam's holiest texts portray Muhammad not as a perfect man,
but as a sexual hedonist. Not only did he become fat from indulging in
food, but his pursuit of sex was no less gluttonous. On top of it all, he
used personal "revelations" from Allah to justify his debauchery to the
gullible masses which, to this day, continue to be venerated and memorized
as if they are the holiest of utterances.

Glad to see this thread again, @op, solomon did not dictate a maximum of 4 wives for his religious followers while he takes as many as 13, solomon lived what he preached while mohammed lived against what he preached. Also king solomon's lust for women is what made him to abandon God leading to God punishing him and his generations yet unborn by dividing israel into two kingdoms. His family only ruled two tribes cos of God's love for his father while another family ruled the remaining ten kingdoms. Honestly u can't call that a blessing for being a womanizer.

Solomon was never a Religious leader and definitely neither a Religious nor a moral model to emulate, but merely a political leader prone and exposed to all power and lustful desires and abuse. On the other hand Mohammad was supposed to be a model to follow in all spheres of lives - moraaly, politically and otherwise. It is therefore a disappointment when such a supposed model is seen lacking these vitues, and putting the fault on "Allah's revelations" If due comparison could be made of a parrelel model, one should look at the life of JESUS.

@lagosshia, there is no other place in the hadith or sira that any other age was given, the materials u quoted on that thread was from an opposing islamic set it seems, if ur to reject the age given in the hadith, then u would have to reject all the teachings of the hadith including the pillars of islam. Op article made it clear that those of you that opposed the age would have to reject the entire hadith/sira itself. Besides many other issues were raised in the article, what's ur view on them? U should not single out where u think u can raise doubts.

1- Muhammad the Womanizer?
Many anti-Islamics give this false claim against
our beloved Prophet peace be upon him.
Below is a Noble Verse and its description that
insha'Allah (if GOD is willing) will shed some
light regarding this issue. This Noble Verse is
used a lot by the anti-Islamics to try to prove
that Muhammad peace be upon him was a
womanizer.
"Thou mayest defer (the turn of) any of them
that thou pleasest, and thou mayest receive
any thou pleasest: and there is no blame on
thee if thou invite one whose (turn) thou hadst
set aside. This were nigher to the cooling of
their eyes, the prevention of their grief, and
their satisfaction - that of all of them - with that
which thou hast to give them: and God knows
(all) that is in your hearts: and God is All-
Knowing, Most Forbearing. (The Noble Quran,
33:51)"
The following Saying is a description for the
Noble Verse:
Aisha (Allah be pleased with her) reported: "I
felt jealous of the women who offered
themselves to Allah's Messenger (may peace be
upon him) and said: Then when Allah, the
Exalted and Glorious, revealed this: 'You may
defer any one of them you wish, and take to
yourself any you wish; and if you desire any
you have set aside (no sin is chargeable to you)
' (xxxiii. 51), I ('Aisha.) said: It seems to me that
your Lord hastens to satisfy your desire.
(Translation of Sahih Muslim, The Book of
Marriage (Kitab Al-Nikah), Book 008, Number
3453) "
As we clearly see from the Noble Verse and the
Narration of our beloved Prophet's wife, Aisha,
may Allah Almighty be pleased with her, our
Prophet did not seek women. They used to
come to offer themselves to him for marriage.
Allah Almighty wanted to make it more
comfortable for our Prophet by allowing him to
choose only the ones that he desired for
marriage.
But the point of our Prophet peace be upon
him seeking women and divorcing women as
he pleased for his own sexual desire is a
complete hoax.
Another false criticism against our beloved
Prophet peace be upon him is in this narration:
Narrated 'Abdul 'Aziz: "Anas said, 'When Allah's
Apostle invaded Khaibar, we offered the Fajr
prayer there yearly in the morning) when it
was still dark. The Prophet rode and Abu Talha
rode too and I was riding behind Abu Talha. The
Prophet passed through the lane of Khaibar
quickly and my knee was touching the thigh of
the Prophet . He uncovered his thigh and I saw
the whiteness of the thigh of the Prophet.
When he entered the town, he said, 'Allahu
Akbar! Khaibar is ruined. Whenever we
approach near a (hostile) nation (to fight) then
evil will be the morning of those who have
been warned.' He repeated this thrice. The
people came out for their jobs and some of
them said, 'Muhammad (has come).' (Some of
our companions added, "With his army." We
conquered Khaibar, took the captives, and the
booty was collected. Dihya came and said, 'O
Allah's Prophet! Give me a slave girl from the
captives.' The Prophet said, 'Go and take any
slave girl.' He took Safiya bint Huyai. A man
came to the Prophet and said, 'O Allah's
Apostles! You gave Safiya bint Huyai to
Dihya and she is the chief mistress of the
tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir and she
befits none but you.' So the Prophet said,
'Bring him along with her.' So Dihya came with
her and when the Prophet saw her, he said to
Dihya, 'Take any slave girl other than her from
the captives.' Anas added: The Prophet then
manumitted her and married her."
Thabit asked Anas, "O Abu Hamza! What did the
Prophet pay her (as Mahr)?" He said, "Her self
was her Mahr for he manumitted her and
then married her." Anas added, "While on the
way, Um Sulaim dressed her for marriage
(ceremony) and at night she sent her as a bride
to the Prophet . So the Prophet was a
bridegroom and he said, 'Whoever has anything
(food) should bring it.' He spread out a leather
sheet (for the food) and some brought dates
and others cooking butter. (I think he (Anas)
mentioned As-SawTq). So they prepared a dish
of Hais (a kind of meal). And that was Walrma
(the marriage banquet) of Allah's Apostle."
(Translation of Sahih Bukhari, Prayers (Salat),
Volume 1, Book 8, Number 367) "
In this narration, we clearly see that our
beloved Prophet peace be upon him:
1- Had the opportunity to keep the woman,
Safiya bint Huyai, as a slave, but instead, he
honored her, manumitted her, and married
her, and she became his honorable wife
instead of his slave.
2- Safiya bint Huyai was chief mistress of the
tribes of Quraiza and An-Nadir.
Where do you see our beloved Prophet peace
be upon him being a womanizer here?
2- What about the Bible's Prophets'
marriages?
When we read the Bible, we learn about some
Prophets marrying many wives, even hundreds
of wives in some cases. Let us look at some of
the verses from the Old Testament:
In Exodus 21:10, a man can marry an infinite
amount of women without any limits to how
many he can marry.
In 2 Samuel 5:13; 1 Chronicles 3:1-9, 14:3, King
David had six wives and numerous concubines.
In 1 Kings 11:3, King Solomon had 700 wives
and 300 concubines.
In 2 Chronicles 11:21, King Solomon's son
Rehoboam had 18 wives and 60 concubines.
And knowing that the Bible's Old Testament
allowed before for men to have sex with girls
who were at the age of 3
, then it wouldn't surprise me that those
Prophets who had 700 wives for instance, had
many very young teenage girls before as their
wives.
3- What about the X-Rated Pornography in
the Bible?
When we read the Bible, we learn about some
weird pornographic teachings that are certainly
not appropriate for anyone with morals to
read. Please visit X-Rated Pornography in the
Bible to see the many pornographic verses in
the Bible. You will read for instance, about
Solomon's wife's vagina tastes like wine for
him!
You will also see examples of Prophets sleeping
with their neighbor's wives, such as the
following:
David watches a women bathe, likes what he
sees, and "goes in unto her." Let us look at 2
Samuel 11:2-4 "One evening David got up from
his bed and walked around on the roof of the
palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing.
The woman was very beautiful, and David sent
someone to find out about her. The man said,
'Isn't this Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and
the wife of Uriah the Hittite?' Then David sent
messengers to get her. She came to him, and
he slept with her. (She had purified herself
from her uncleanness.) Then she went back
home." This Holy Figure in the Bible is a
pervert!.
So what happened to "If a man commits
adultery with another man's wife--with the
wife of his neighbor--both the adulterer and
the adulteress must be put to death. (From the
NIV Bible, Leviticus 20:10)"?
How come Leviticus 20:10 was compromised in
the Bible and was never applied to King David?!
Didn't King David know about this law? Yet, the
Jews use his star as their holy symbol; the
David Star, and the Christians call Jesus his son;
"Son of David".
It seems to me quite clearly that the Bible is
nothing but a compromised corrupted Book as
Jeremiah 8:8, 2 Samuel 11:2-4 and Leviticus
20:10 suggest.
If the strong eats the weak in the Bible, then
what moral and wisdom are we to learn from
this book?
4- "Jesus never got married before!
Therefore, Muhammad is not truthful!"
Well, anyone who studies Islam would realize
that we Muslims respect Prophet Jesus peace
be upon him very dearly and we regard him as
one of Allah Almighty's favorite Prophets.
We are not the Jews who believe that he was a
liar and his mother Mary was a "LovePeddler". Visit
this link to see actual quotes from the Jewish
Talmud.
But Jesus peace be upon him is not the
measuring stick! Meaning that whether he
married or not, this wouldn't make a person
good or bad or truthful or untruthful. It is
totally irrelevant to us Muslims that Jesus
peace be upon him never got married before
whether it was by his choice or not. Certainly,
Christians can't even follow his foot steps in
this issue, and for those who do, they end up
committing adultery in their church.

The Bible allows for the master to sleep with
his slave's wife and daughters:
Exodus 21
Fair Treatment of Slaves
“These are the regulations you
must present to Israel.
2 “If you buy a Hebrew slave, he
may serve for no more than six
years. Set him free in the seventh
year, and he will owe you nothing
for his freedom.
3 If he was single when he
became your slave, he shall leave
single. But if he was married
before he became a slave, then
his wife must be freed with him.
4 “If his master gave him a wife
while he was a slave and they

So what do we see here:
1-
The man owns the slave, and
even owns his wife and children if
the slave got married while he
was a slave.
2-
A slave is a property. This means
that a master could have sex with
a slave.
3-
If the slaves wishes to leave, then
he must leave his wife and
children to his master. Otherwise,
he will have to become a slave
for the rest of his life.
4-
A man can sell his daughter as a
slave-girl.
5-
Certainly, the master in all of
the cases can sleep with the
woman (the wife of the slave, or
the daughter who was sold), and
the daughters.
This is further proven in the
verses of the Bible that allow
for masters to sleep with
their slaves and have children
from them, such as Abraham
and Hagar having Ishmael.
Also again, the Bible makes it
clear that the slave is the
master's property:
Exodus 21
21 but he is not to be
punished if the slave gets up
after a day or two,
since the slave is his
property.
For many years, I've heard
many christians declare Islam
to be false because Allah
Almighty allowed for the
Muslim men to sleep with
their slave women, even if
those women were married
to infidels. Yet, we virtually
find worse things in their
gospel of porn, the book of
women's vaginas and breasts
taste like "wine", and the
book that sings praises about
sisters lusting after their
brothers, because the Bible
allows for the Jewish master
to sleep with his Jewish slave's

Notice how in the corrupt Bible,
GOD Almighty supposedly had
absolutely no problem with king
Abimelech sleeping with a single
woman. The man was even
surprised that GOD Almighty
appeared to him for sleeping with
what he thought was a single
woman. GOD Almighty's
supposed only problem was that
Sarah was:
1-
A (free) married woman.
2-
The wife of a Prophet.
Now notice how in Exodus 21
above, the slave women who
were married were still ok to
permissible for their masters to
sleep with them. Not only with
them, but also with their
daughters. In Genesis 20, Sarah
wasn't taken as a slave woman.
Abimelech was just going to
have a one-night stand with
her. So the point here is that the
Bible clearly allows:
1-
For the masters to sleep with
their married women-slaves in
certain cases.
2-
For the masters to sleep with the
daughters of their male-slave.
3-
With men, in general, to sleep
with single women without any
problem.
4-
For the masters to sleep with
their single women in all cases
and situations. Genesis 20:17
further proves this along with
many other verses.
But however, married women,
who are free and are married to
free men, are forbidden to be
touched by other than their
husbands.
The bottom line:
The bottom line here is that
these verses from the corrupt
bible further prove that masters
are permitted to sleep with their
slave women as they please. And
if this story was in the Glorious
Quran, then we would've seen the
missionaries jump up and down
attacking Islam for it. Yet, we do
not find it in the Glorious Quran,
but rather we find it in the
Bible!
In Islam:
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: "Musaykah, a
slave-girl of some Ansari, came and said: My
master forces me to commit fornication.
Thereupon the following verse was revealed:
"But force not your maids to prostitution (when
they desire chastity). (24:33)" (Translation of
Sunan Abu Dawud, Divorce (Kitab Al-Talaq),
Book 12, Number 2304)"
In Islam, men are not allowed to rape their
slave-girls. Allah Almighty clearly prohibited it
in Noble Verse 24:33. In Islam.

Why did Allah Almighty make lawful for
Muslim men to have sexual intercourse with
the married women from the captives?
Let us look at the following Noble Verses from
the Noble Quran:
"Prohibited to you (For marriage) are:- Your
mothers, daughters, sisters; father's sisters,
Mother's sisters; brother's daughters, sister's
daughters; foster-mothers (Who gave you suck),
foster-sisters; your wives' mothers; your step-
daughters under your guardianship, born of
your wives to whom ye have gone in,- no
prohibition if ye have not gone in;- (Those who
have been) wives of your sons proceeding from
your loins; and two sisters in wedlock at one
and the same time, except for what is past; for
God is Oft-forgiving, Most Merciful;-
Also (prohibited are) women already married,
except those whom your right hands
possess: Thus hath God ordained (Prohibitions)
against you: Except for these, all others are
lawful, provided ye seek (them in marriage)
with gifts from your property,- desiring
chastity, not lust, seeing that ye derive benefit
from them, give them their dowers (at least) as
prescribed; but if, after a dower is prescribed,
agree Mutually (to vary it), there is no blame
on you, and God is All-knowing, All-wise. (The
Noble Quran, 4:23-24)"
The definition of the term "right hands
possess" is "Captives of war". Those from
among the population of the tribes who fought
the Muslims are considered "right hand
possessions" if their tribe is defeated and
captured.
We first need to understand that back 1400
years ago, when Islam was growing among the
Pagan Arab Tribes, the Muslims were at
constant wars with the Pagans. The Pagan tribes
highly objected to the presence and the rapid
growth of Islam, and they all united to fight
Islam and finish it once and for all.
During those days, the Muslims did not have
any government. Governments provide welfare
and protection to people. Back then, and when
there was no Islamic Government yet, the
Muslims were their own country and were their
own government. Everyone had to share in the
responsibility DIRECTLY by sheltering the
captives of wars at their homes.

All men, including the unarmed ones, were to

For the others, kill and destroy every creature
that is breathing - that is all men, women,
children and animals (Deuteronomy 20:16-17).

Why Prophet Muhammad Married Aisha
When She
Was Only 9?
1-It was a divine inspiration:
Before describing the rationale behind this
married relation, let it be known that the Holy
Prophet (peace be upon him) married Sayyida
Aisha not of his own desire rather it was a
Divine inspiration. Read the following Hadith;
Narrated ‘Aisha:
That the Prophet said to her, “You have
been shown to me twice in my dream. I
saw you pictured on a piece of silk and
some-one said (to me). ‘This is your
wife.’ When I uncovered the picture, I
saw that it was yours. I said, ‘If this is
from Allah, it will be done.” {Bukhari ::
Volume 5 :: Book 58 :: Hadith 235}
2-It was not out of his physical desires:
The Holy Prophet (Peace be upon him) did not
marry Sayyidah Aisha out of his physical
desires. One need to note that for first 54
years of his life he had only one wife. His only
wife till 50th year of his life was Sayyida
Khadija. He spent his entire youth with her and
she was a two time widowed woman, 15 years
elder to him. For next four years his only wife
was Sayyidah Sa’uda.
3-Age of Marriage in Old Ages:
One must first understand that 1400 years ago
was very different than now, times have
changed and so have humans. 1400 years ago it
was something very common to marry young
girls, in fact they were not considered young
girls, and rather they were considered young
women back then. It is a historic fact that girls
from the ages of 9 to 14 were being married in
Europe, Asia, and Africa, in fact even in the
United States girls at the age of 10 were also
being married just more than a century ago.
Yet with these facts no historian claims that all
these people were sick perverts, historians
would call anyone who made such a claim to be
arrogant and very stupid who has no grasp or
understanding of history.
Even in Indo-Pak Sub-Continent girls used to be
married at 12-13 even 50-60 years ago. And
those ‘girls’ infact raised much better families.
There were less family problems then. A
simple analyses of the divorce rate then and
know would certainly make it clear that
maturity level earlier used to be different i.e.
people used to come of age rather quickly.

5-The Pagans of the Prophet’s time:
The fact that it was a completely acceptable
thing can also be seen from the response of
the pagans at that time. No Muslim or even
pagan objected to the marriage because it was
widely practiced. And even until today in 3rd
world countries (Muslims and non-Muslims),
little girls as young as 9 or 10 do get married.
Anyway, the reason no one objected was to the
Prophet’s marriage was:1-People used to have
very short life-spans in Arabia. They used to
live between 40 to 60 years maximum. So it
was only normal and natural for girls to be
married off at ages 9 or 10 or similar.2-
Marriage for young girls was widely practiced
among Arabs back then, and even today in
many non-Muslim and Muslim countries
6-Engagement with Jubair bin Mutim:
It ought also be noted that Sayyidah Aisha ( RA)
was engaged to Jubayr son of Mut’im before
Prophet Muhammed (Peace be upon him. This
indicates the age of marriage and engagement
in Prophet’s time. However, the engagement
was later nullified by Jubayr’s parents due to
Abu Bakr (RA) embracing Islam.Doesn’t this
indicate there was nothing bad in marrying a 9
year girl at that time?She must have been even
younger when she was engaged to Jubair
7-Sayyidah Aisha was fit for marriage:
Furthermore as to the Holy Prophet’s marriage
with Sayyidah Aisha, something people will
notice is that the completion of the marriage
was done when Sayyidah Aisha was 9 years old,
not when she was 6, and there is a reason for
that. The reason why this happened is because
Sayyidah Aisha had been through puberty by
the age of 9, and in Islam a female who under-
goes puberty is considered a lady and is fit for
marriage.
If we read the hadiths, we find that right
before Sayyidah Aisha got married off to the
Holy Prophet that she was sick and not feeling
too well:
Narrated Sayyidah Aisha:
The Prophet engaged me when I was a
girl of six (years). We went to Medina
and stayed at the home of Bani-al-
Harith bin Khazraj then I got ill and my
hair fell down. Later on my hair grew
(again) and my mother, Um Ruman,
came to me while I was playing in a
swing with some of my girl friends. She
called me, and I went to her, not
knowing what she wanted to do to me.
She caught me by the hand and made
me stand at the door of the house. I
was breathless then, and when my
breathing became all right, she took
some water and rubbed my face and
head with it. Then she took me into the
house. There in the house I saw some
Ansari women who said, “Best wishes
and Allah’s Blessing and a good luck.”
Then she entrusted me to them and
they prepared me (for the marriage).
Unexpectedly Allah’s Apostle came to
me in the forenoon and my mother
handed me over to him, and at that
time I was a girl of nine years of
age.” {Sahih Bukhari Volume 5, Book 58,
Number 234}
So as we can see, Sayyidah Aisha got ill and her
body was going through some changes,
indicating that she was going through her
puberty.
8-Sayyida Aisha never showed her
displeasure:
Another striking thing to observe is that among
hundreds of her narrations there is not even a
single one showing her displeasure about this
marriage. Hence, she had no problem with this
relation. Infect it is manifest from several
traditions that she loved the Holy Prophet
(Peace be upon him) too much and even felt
some sort of jealousy when she found others
around him. Does this not prove that she was
extremely happy about this marriage? So, when
she herself had no problem at all then what’s
the matter of concern for others?
9-A 9-year old Thai girl gave birth:
A 9 old girl can become a mother. If you don’t
believe me then see here is the proof;

In our world today, we still have people who
marry very young girls. Why should we object
to someone who married a 9-year old girl 1400
years ago, when we still practice it today? The
girl above even gave birth at the age of 9!
10-It was absolutely legal:
Prophet Muhammad’s marriage with Aisha was
100% legal and acceptable by all laws and
Divine Religions. It is important to know that
girls during the Biblical and Islamic days used
to be married off at young ages when they
either had their first periods, or their breasts
start showing off. In other words, when they
turn into “women”, then they get married off.
It was quite different for men on the other
hand, because physical power and the ability of
living an independent life had always been and
will always be a mandatory requirement for
men to have in life. So men waited much
longer than women in terms of getting
married. The guy had to develop both his body
and mind before he was ready for marriage.
That is why you see girls as young as 9 or 10
were married to men as old as 30 or even
older. The culture back then and in many of the
world countries today (NON-MUSLIM ONES
TOO) is quite different than what you live in
today.And there is no divine law which is
broken in marrying a girl of nine at any costs.
11-Her parents never objected:
Sayyidah Aisha’s mother and the Muslim
women back then were O.K with her marriage.
It was part of the Arab custom and still is in
many of the Muslim and non-Muslim countries
today for girls to marry at a very young age.
When a girl’s body starts showing up (her
breasts and her height and physical size), then
she would be ready for marriage
The only reason why Sayyidah Aisha’s father,
Abu Baker Al Sidique, broke her engagement
with Jober is because he was a non-Muslim.
Later, a woman named Kholeah Bint Hakeem
suggested for Prophet Muhammad peace be
upon him to marry Sayyidah Aisha, because the
Prophet and Abu Baker became best friends.
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him)
engaged Sayyidah Aisha for 3 years before he
married her.
12-Muslims never concealed it:
Had there been any bad thinking regarding this
marriage in minds of the people at that time.
Muslims would have tried there best to conceal
at that time. But they didn’t.
13-Refuting unjust Pagan views:
There were many baseless traditions in practice
among the Arabs in those days. So Prophet
Muhammad (peace be upon him) was usually
ordered by the Almighty ALLAH to refute such
traditions through personal examples. Similar
is the case of Prophet Muhammad’s marriage
with Umm al Momineen Aisha (R.A.)
1-For a bad omen, Arab considered
Shawwal a month prohibited for marriage.
Sayyidah A’isha’s betrothal and departure
from her parent’s house took place in
Shawwal. This changed the ridiculous
custom.
2-Another bad custom was that the Arabs
did not give the hands of their daughters
to those who they “called” their brothers
(though were not actual brothers). This was
the objection raised by Abu Bakr himself,
when the Prophet (peace be upon him)
made the proposal. The Prophet (Peace be
upon him) then told him that a brother in
faith was not an actual blood brother to be
placed in the prohibited category.
14-Great Wisdom behind this marriage:
Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) marriage
with Sayyidah Aisha at that age was indeed a
great blessings for all the Muslims ever since.
Most of the matters related to cleanliness,
married relationship and other household
issues have been cleared due to her narrations.
She lived a long time after the death of the
Holy Prophet (peace be upon him) and
continued to teach the Ummah about matters
of daily routine and great importance.
15-What was Sayyidah Aisha famous for ??
Well what was her specialty? I ask the critics.
Was it beauty?
Was it wealth?
No it was religion!Thus proving the DIVINE
LOGIC.
Arwa Bin Zubair says, “I did not find anyone
more proficient (than Aisha ) in the knowledge
of the Holy Quran, the Commandments of
Halal (lawful) and Haram (prohibited), Ilmul-
Ansab and Arabic poetry. That is why, even
senior companions of the Prophet used to
consult Aisha in resolving intricate issues”.
(Jala-ul-Afham by Ibn Qaiyem and Ibn Sa’ad,
Vol.2, p.26)

Abu Musa al-Ashari says: “Never had we
(the companions) any difficulty for the
solution of which we approached Aisha
and did not get some useful
information from her”. (Sirat-I-Aisha, on
the authority of Trimidhi, pg. 163)

Jesus was opposed to adultery(Matt. 5:27-28).

heck jesus was not married. maybe the whole christians should subscribed to that, if they are sincere. or are they believers only of the lips and not by hearts and thats why we see their deeds are opposite to that of jesus. there are still crosses to die on or choose wet transformers.
Can a man commit adultery with his wife? Or can a woman commit adultery with her husband? If Aisha [ra] did not commit fornication or adultery, can Muhammad [sa] commit either with her?

David was punished: he did not build the temple,

so was jesus. He didnt rebuild the temple while Solomon with his 700 wives and 300 concubines built the original temple. Heck. the muslims own that plot with masjid Aqsa on it. if the temple is the measure of victory with Yahweh, muslims under the leadership of Muhammad [sa] are the only victorious group.

God rebuked Abraham for his actions(moreover, there were no laws then),Solomon also.

you double talk too much. if there was not law, why blame a person that has not broken any law? But there was law for Adam to follow, even that early? see why i said you double talk? But as you malign Abraham, you are saying your religion is Abrahamaic. No? Not Jesusiac, but Abrahamaic. And Salomon was the wisest of all people in the Bible.

We Christians are now save by the grace of God not by the laws of Moses. we no longer follow most of the laws of Moses.

Jesus observed the laws of Moses, living by it and condemned whoever will encourage any to disregard the least of the laws. here you are now disregarding the laws in actuality disregarding the Biblical Jesus.
