A taxi driver found 18 million naira and returned it to the owner?

Chanchit: If my papa return that kyn money, we go fight, xpecially in Abuja, the creddle of stolen money.

ol boy u no serious oo. If my papa were to make such a mistake, i will disown him until he goes to get the money back. Whoever keeps N18m at one go, could not have gotten it otherwise than through a negative means. Whatever happened to the right of a first finder.

Imeh usuah was the first name I checked on that list.What I saw was quite disappointing. One of them was called by efcc,he refused to honor their invitation.When efcc arrived in his house he jumped the fence and ran to Ghana.He will receive the second highest honor.

Nigeria has lost her core value
We celebrate criminals and mediocres
And it cut accross all rank and file in the society
Even religious outfits are not left out in this menace

@Post

Nigeria only honours thieves and crooks. This is why many Nigerians back home don't see the need to do good or be honest because in Nigeria, being good and honest does not pay.

Leemak: dt man called Usuah or wot is his name na fool....u can do dt in a country where there is sincerity, d owner of dt money must b among those ppl dt ar stealing our money in dis country if not how could a businessman/woman dt hav laboured so hard 4get dt type of money in a taxi?......dt taxi driver should not b honoured with a national award because he is an international mugu of all times!
........u call him a mugu because he did something honourable right? You are not different from the likes of our corrupt leaders. Inasmuch as we have bad and corrupt leaders, i would like you to understand that everyone cannot be like you. We still have patriotic and conscientious nigerians. May God Almighty reward the taxi driver greatly so that your likes will be put to shame.

National honour for returning 18 million? I don't quite agree. A letter of acknowledgement or invitation by the presido should be sufficient... afterall im best reward go come from God. One has to do a something far greater to get that honor mehnn, even though the system for our naija dey differenet.

dikkybutt: Isn't it a shame - a very big shame- that Imeh Usuah, the Abuja-based Taxi Driver, who made headlines earlier this year when he returned Items worth 18 Million Naira that a passenger forgot in his Car, didn't make this years honours list?

Mr. Usuah, a father of 6, could have made away with that money and be a 'big boy' now. Rather he returned it. What did he get in return? To the best of my knowledge, he got a paltry N30,000 from the National Orientation Agency.

Wouldn't it have been wise to factor in such an 'ordinary' Nigerian while compiling that list that honours mainly Individuals that have milked our commonweatlth.
We do not honour heroes. We do not set good precedence for others. What a disincentive for other Taxi drivers to tow the path of Imeh Usuah.

I wrote this piece last November after the sham of an award last year http://ekekeee.com/irrational-dishonour-awards-by-dickson-u-kalu/ it is still relevant today. @DicksonKalu

He lacks the wherewithal to make the list...In simple term, he couldn't afford it...
