Thank you all for your kind wishes. He was a great man and father to three young children. I don't know how we will get on without him. He died by the rules he lived by. He truly believed that Nigeria was worth dying for. How often do you see a commander patrolling at 10:30pm? I miss him more than words could ever convey. Thank you all for your prayers. They truly give me comfort although if there were ever someone with a free pass to heaven it would be bobby b ksmiley

@ oluwawunmi

You can go now. Good luck

@vinvinonyi
i suspect you were given provera to stop the bleeding. Be patient, it can take a couple of cycles after childbirth to regulate

@ casler
She will need to see her gyn to determine what is wrong.

@ aladunni
I think you need an ovulation kit. This will help yo ufigure out your fertile day

NICE TO HAVE YOU BACK Dr KATHY, YOU WERE GREATLY MISSED smiley
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 8:43pm On Jul 27, 2009
@ casler
I would suggest she go to a gyn for a full evaluation

@aladunni
I think you would do well with an ovulation kit. You could use it to determine your fertile days

@ manmustwac
I would suggest you get her to another hospital. Sometimes after surgery, the patient can develop an obstruction of the small intestines or colon. She needs a thorough evaluation. Sorry for the delay in reply

Hi doctor - what are the chances of someone with PCOS getting pregnant. Will weight loss help? (Yes i know its quite hard to lose weight but its coming of slowly) also have a few small fibroids.

Should I see a specialist or just let nature happen?

Thanks

@ pussydot
Unfortunately, I don't know what that medication is. If you still have the box, look for the ingredients and post it. I might be able to help

@ evangelin
That is a good sperm count. We only worry after a year of trying. Relax and grab an ovulation kitsmiley
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 12:25am On Jul 28, 2009
@osiyemia
There is another alternative, also less costly, known as IUI, intrauterine insemination. Your gyn will collect sperm from your husband and inject it directly into the uterus. Most sperm die in the vagina. This way, the few sperm that are available will have the best chance of fertilizing your egg

@dr. zak
Masturbation is fine. Men continue to make sperm all their lives unlike women who are born with a finite number of eggs. Waste away.

We have tried for 2 years and 7 months now but no success. Please put me in prayer or is there any alternative u can suggest for us.

We have been going to gynocologist and my husband sperm motility is too poor (20%)is there any drug he can take to increase the sperm motility? Please advice.

Thank you.

Hi Dr.,
1. i want to know if there are other causes of cervical incompetence apart from a previous DC and any cervix related operation.

2. my other question is on mercury contained in sea foods. I read that some sea fishes have a high amount of mercury which is not good for the foetus. Mackerel (king) is one of them. does that mean that the mackerel fishes that re being sold in nigeria (which Nigerians call titus) are also dangerous to the foetus? my own opinion is that they are safe since they are not large fishes, and they often times weigh less than 1kg. i just want to be very sure because i crave them now that am pregnant but i do not want to eat them at the detriment of my baby.If it is harmful to the baby, i can do very well do without them.

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by isod: 4:09pm On Jul 29, 2009
Hi Doctors,

I have an 8month old baby that developed a rash on his arms and legs. The Doctors all say its scabbies and prescribed Benzyl benzoate to rub on his body. This is so harsh even for an adult. I used it and it killed the rashes, however after about 2 weeks, i noticed new rashes. This means that there is still a source.

I have 2 guesses.
1. The new househelp i just got or (2). my parents dog ( can dat be a source).

I have read online bout the use of Dogonyaro,  they say it chases mites out of the house.

Please help, i am tired of applying Benzyl Benzoate on my baby.

N/B: We have had all his clothes washed with hot water and izal

He bathes with Tetmosol soap now.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi Kathy,

I posted the previous post in the wrong thread. If you have any advice tho, i am all ears. However, Iv been unable to lose the weight i put on during childbirth. I had a C/S. My stomach still protrudes unlike a lot of other women I see.

Can you prescribe anything. I am kind of embarrassed.

Hi doc Kathy,
please i need your advise on this issue. my husband was diagnosed with moderate growth of staph. aureus in his semen, but he has no growth at all in his urine. His count is 95million but with a poor motility of 40%. The sensitivity test shows that the bacterial is sensitive to ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin, tarivid and moderately to augumentin. please which antibiotics do you advise is best for this situation, for i understand that clearing bacterial in the semen could be stubborn and will require about 3month therapy. we have been trying for a year and six month now. and desperate - am sure u understand. we are afraid of resistance, so we want to get it right once. thanks doc God bless

Plz assist my wife. She was having whitish discharge and she decided to use Canesten Vaginal Insert. She had used it some 3yrs ago when she had similar discharge.
However, she used the Canesten 500mg last nite and has been having mild bleeding. Although she is currently feeling no pain and itches and her period is not due yet, the bleeding is still continuing. Pls wot action do we take?
