Good job you are doing here doc, God bless you.

If I am pregnant, do I start counting the number weeks old my baby is from last period or from ovulation or when?

Had a confusing counting time in my previous pregnancy( lost that tho). I want to be better equipped next time.

Hello to the doctor in this room,
i have some questions:
Why do they ask someone ( pregnant lady) in the hospital wether she had an abortion before or not ?( while filling a form)
also , if one does not fill in the question ( as yes) is there any risiko with that?

thanks

Hello Dr.

I had a baby in december last year via CS, am planning to get pregnant as soon as possible for my next baby as age is not on my side at all. I have recorvered well from the last CS, at least i feel quite good and my 6 weeks post natal check was also positive
Is it okay to get pregnant NOW or What TIME FRAME would you recommend?

Thank you for your kind support

Hi Dr. Kaithy,

I am trying for a second baby. First baby was in 2007 and having been trying for a second one without success. Recently was diag with hep B. Went for a test to determine viral load and here is the result:

PCR Hep. B Quant is 3.38 log (23740 cps/ml)
Hep B Core Antibodies =positive
HBEag = negative
HBEab = positive

LFT
Total bilirubin 33 (high)
Liver enzymes (were all within normal)

I was placed on Zeffix (lamivudine) and Livolin forte. My question is that is can one get pregnant while taking these medications. Is it safe to go for IVF under this condition. my husband has low sperm count and was advised that IVF is the best option. It was during the infection screening that HEP was discovered. Hubby result is vol = 3ml, density=1, motility=26%, progression=fair, normal forms =0, colour=normal, debris =+, round cells= <0.1.

Secondly, I always experience severe waist pain/headache/high blood pressure during ovulation or sometimes during menses. The headache/high blood pressure disapears immediately after ovulation or menses while the waist pain persist at times.

I look forward to your help.

Plz doctor how well do u know about wellwoman supplement,
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:19am On Mar 08, 2010
@browncocos
I would suggest finding a good gyn. You need a thorough exam. If nothing physical such as scar tissue is found, there are some medications that might be helpful.

@acl
Good job. Also take a prenatal vitamin and grab an ovulation kit to help you pinpoint your fertile days. Good luck
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:22am On Mar 08, 2010
@aniody
sounds like you have increased libido around the time you ovulate. This is not unusual. This being said it is important that you communicate freely with your partner. For example, try to figure out your turn ons and communicate these to your partner. Good luck

@oln
Congratulations!! Please keep me posted
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:28am On Mar 08, 2010
@toloruni
This is a sizeable fibroid but I think that the real threat to fertility is your husband's low count. With these factors including your age, I would recommend going to a specialist to review your options.

@tsan
I agree that the issue might be your weight but I don't think you should stop being intimate. Grab an ovulation kit. Looks like you are still ovulating, albeit, not as regularly as before. Also get your thyroid checked.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:34am On Mar 08, 2010
@vaiza
It starts from the first day of your last period. Good luck

@temite
Because there are certain conditions where the number of prior abortions or surgeries can change the diagnosis.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:40am On Mar 08, 2010
@queentayo
Give yourself at least 6 more weeks to start trying. This being said, there are certain increased risks with having the pregnancies less than a year apart such as preterm labor, or the incision spliting open.

@bilqiss
Yes it can happen depending on the length of the woman's cycle
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:42am On Mar 08, 2010
@tunde1200
no

@empadac
I would deal with the issue of the hep b first before contemplation conception. As for the high blood pressure, it is not really associated with ovulation. I do think you need ivf, just not now.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:45am On Mar 08, 2010
@lynakenz

you need to see a generalist. As for your irregular menses, an ovulation kit will help you determine your fertile days

@ ammamat
I don't know about it. Sorry

Dear doc,

My sister had her third miscarriage two days ago. Could you please advise on what could be the probable cause these miscarriages? She's been married for three years now without any child due to miscarriage. She's been to gynea without any possible solution.

Your candid advise would be greatly appreciate.

Once again, thanks.

Hi Dr.

We have been married for 2 years now and we have been trying all medical solutions without making headway. My wife ovulation cycle had always been 27/28 days until January when she didnt see her menstruation until after 32 days. We even thought she was pregnant but lost it. When we got to the Dr. all he asked was whether she stressed herself to which we answer  -ve. now by yesterday after 33 days again, she saw her period and we are deeply worry about this.
Can ovulation be a 32/33 days cycle?
Can there be change in the no of days/cycle & what is the health implication/cause of it?
What do we suggest we do?

Will appreciate your response as well as that of those who had experienced this situation and come out of it.

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:42am On Apr 04, 2010
@temimine
Sometimes limited spillage is due to the contraction of the tubes caused by irritation of the dye rather than real pathology. I'm unsure about cyst drill but if your tubes are open and undamaged, I don't see a hinderance to conception

@daddee
Sorry to hear this. how far along was she with each miscarriage?
