ARCHEMEDESME:READ bro. READ. Leave past questions for now. When exam is close you can go back to past questions, we all know Jamb don't repeat questions and I guess u already know the pattern of jamb questions. What I'll advise is that u read for now and solve problems in past questions later on. I guess you have not finished up all ur textbooks. Have u??.... If no, then READ. |

suregalluv:When I say state universities, I don't mean all the state universities in Nigeria. I never in any of my posts mention I was in Unical or in the medical college but I'm talking from the little I know. Will you compare Unical with Uniben, OAU, UI, Unilorin and the likes in terms of competition??. Definitely NO. They are to an extent, less competitive. That's my point. |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Undilutedme: 3:31pm On Jan 24, 2020 |
stallionsinn:Medicine is competitive in almost all the government owned Universities. What I'm trying to say is, it's not as competitive as most of the federal Universities. For example Uniben as at 2018 or so had about 12,000+ applicants for medicine only, Unilorin 10,000+ and so on. I'm sure Uniabuja doesn't even have up to 7,000 applicants for MBBS. That's the competition I'm talking about. Competitive has grade. |

Pls medics in the house I need your candid advice on this matter. I am considering the following institutions for mbbs DE. I am not sure what to expect in these schools. So, I need guidance to help me make the best decision. 1. UNN: I heard they write post DE examination. The issue is the nature of the exams. Is it purely O level standard or A level? Is there past questions for it? Which textbook is best for it? 2. UDUS: I really want to know if sokoto admits through DE. What's the DE quota like? I sent an email to the school, no response. cc: Elzak ShahRukhKhan 3. UNIJOS: Also want to know how their DE quota is like and the likelihood of being admitted. Is there anything like exam? 5. UNIZIK: What is their modus operandi? Is it monetized like some eastern schools? 6. BUK: 7. UI: I heard Ibadan is largely on merit. What is the nature of their post DE? And the quota? I hope they don't make use of ssce because my ssce is "C" all through. Pls I need answers to these and opinions as well. I don't want State unis cos I can't afford them. Very important: which of these schools accept DE without NYSC. Thank you for your anticipated response |

ARCHEMEDESME:Similar issue here bro. Let's just keep reading and praying. Some of the past questions' answers are wrong. In short, Verify all answers with textbook or probably Google. Which past questions are you using hardcopy? PDF? or CBT app? |

David2O:cbt app and hardcopy |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by Commmy: 5:03pm On Jan 25, 2020 |
David2O: Actually a lot of the answers in past questions are wrong. In the 2 utme exams I've written I do make use of past questions alot not knowing answers to most of the questions because I've not gone through most of the topics. But now that I've gone through a large part of the topics in phy chem and bio and going through past questions make me realize I've been on the wrong side ever since. The most important thing is going through the syllabus of all the subject you're writing before going into past questions OR going through questions that are related to a topic you just completed. So it's either at the end of syllabus or end of topic. But for now I'll recommend the former because of time factor. If you don't have the Lamlad series, you can download JAMBPREP app. I've been using that app for a while now and it's answers are mostly reliable and you can also search questions for a particular topic in it David2O ARCHEMEDESME |

SESARS:For Unizik, DE is fair enough. Post DE exams are purely English, as far as I know. admission is based on GP and DE scores |

Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by David2O(m): 7:27pm On Jan 25, 2020 |
ARCHEMEDESME:Oya compare the answers in hardcopy with CBT app and atleast, 3 answers will contradict. Don't depend too much on those answers. Some of these authors/developers took it as business, not academic. If you know, you know. |
Re: The medical students and aspirants thread by David2O(m): 7:47pm On Jan 25, 2020 |
Commmy:What matters in Jamb is understanding. Good textbooks plus lamlad series as sub-textbook is enough joor. If one is not carefull, past questions app or hardcopies can make one depress. You can imagine after reading a full text back-to-back, then you decided to know how far. At the end of the day, it's 70 Jesus!! I was expecting 90+ not knowing I got some the app failed for me. On the other hand, Obsessive use of past questions causes Illusion of mastery. 1 Like |
