dasparrow: @Post I think you are demanding too much from people who have only received too little. The pay of a Journalist isn't very attractive, neither is the prospect of risking a lot to source for news item....add that to the fact that these same people attended the same epileptic educational training available for sale in Nigeria and you may start feeling some sort of sympathy rather than outright condemnation. |

It is still sketchy where the light skinned pilot will be heading to, lol that caught my attention even though I know neither. Why the description? |

Sijo01: @Bolded How am I suppose to know? Do I live in their home? And no, that is not what I was trying to say. I said "if push comes to shove" meaning if all else fails (example: taking longer than usual to get a new job, savings account exhusted, the likes), he can always fall back on his wife's income till he finds his feet again. What's so wrong in a man living off his wife's income temporarily? I thought in marraige 2 become 1 and whatever belongs to the husband belongs to the wife and vice versa? |

Who ever wrote that article is stupid. Nigerians own about 150 private jets and so many planes in various airline fleets. Pilots are needed everywhere, so this man can not be jobless for 5 days. Yes, I said 5 days. 3 Likes |

violent: Oh please! If you must know, I attended a greater part of my primary education and all of my secondary education in Nigeria before leaving the country and excelling academically in college here in the States. I believe that if you are going to do a job, then do it well. We should stop celebrating or excusing mediocrity in Nigeria. If journalism does not pay well, then I guess it is time for a career change. Why would anyone who calls himself or herself a journalist consistently write "the light skinned pilot" or "the dark skinned actress"? What has one's skin tone got to do with anything? Why the fixation or downright obsessions with skin tone amongst many Nigerians? Is it inferiority complex rearing its head again? And anyone who can't spell the simple word 'actresses' should not be called a journalist or practice in the profession. Nigeria will never move forward if all we have in Nigeria today are educated illiterates who can neither write nor spell properly. 2 Likes |

I don't engage Nairalanders who are obviously emotionally and psychologically unstable. Anyone can access the internet nowadays including people living in mental institutions. The United States of America is a racially diverse society so it will make sense to say the African-American president (African-American is a racial/ethnic classification). However, Nigeria is a Negroid country so unless the journalist writes "the Yoruba pilot" to refer to Captain Ekeinde's ethnicity, there is really no need to emphasize his skin tone. Anyways, keep wallowing in your ignorance. It's what many Nigerians are known and good for anyways. I'm out! 3 Likes |

pendo89: It's because most Nigerians just have an inferiority complex that they sadly cannot be cured of and many are very obsessed with skin colour and skin tone. This is also the reason why many 'worship' members of the Caucasoid race who in turn treat them like crap right there in Nigeria. |

Wetin concern my agbero with overload? He has been working as a pilot for years so getting another job won't be an outright problem for him. This news is just laced with jealousy and bad-belleism. The yeye journalist even tried calling the wife to confirm her husband's job loss. Na wa oh |

It seems the article was intended to ridicule him. He was retrenched but he can grab another job. A pilot is a highly skilled professional. Do you think he's in the labour market like recent graduate. I can imagine a journalist saying Arsene Wenger the light skinned graduate of economics... Some times these journalists are ridiculous. Not only is their expression wack, their grammatical construction can be terrible. |

I wonder what those people calling omotala to know the state of husband wanted to hear. Everyday in Nigeria people lose their jobs and yet life continues and we don't hear a damn but omo hobby don lose his job and we are reading all over the internet. What makes him so special than other Nigerians |
