Obi1kenobi: As for me, Avatar is the most overrated movie of all time. I can finish a 24 episode series in a day and half but in 3 times of trying, I could barely keep awake watching Avatar.

A lot of modern action blockbusters like Transformers, Avatar, Hunger games etc feel like kiddies movies that try to cover up the lack of substance in the plot with high octane, intricately choreographed, CGI action sequences. I prefer lower profile, slower-paced releases with more substance like "the Reader", "No country for old men", "the Prestige". But that's just me, anyway.

not just you... though i may be worse. I've never been able to go past the first 30 mins of the Godfather...

What?! Safe and Safe House?? Wow! You either don't dig action flicks or maybe you saw the pirated versions. Safe House is a cool movie in my opinion. Denzel and Ryan Reynolds did a great job but Safe wasn't all that! By the way, both movies definitely weren't over-hyped.

I don't know why I'm being crucified for this? Wetin be my offence for saying they are overrated? I have watched them and I actually enjoyed them but I still think something is missing in those movies. Come to think of it, the storyline of these movies are average at their very best, they were only made to look 'wow' because of the effects. They are not really mind engaging (can't say same about Harry Potter but I don't like magic realism). I believe there are better movies out there that deserve better accolades than those movies.

The fact that they made so much in revenue at the box office with lot less to offer make them overhyped.

Im going to rank this.

1. Twilight (So overhyped and filled with terrible acting.)

2. Ra. one (Such a stupid movie, I will never get that 3 hours of my life back . Very dissapointed by shahrukh khan. )

3. Agent Vinod (The ending was so ridiculous, and confusing)

4. Pirates of the carribbean.

5. Alice In the Wonderland (The remake one with johnny depp)

6. Hangover 2.
