londoner:

Check and see whether those counties have any connection with Nigeria, ie the Yoruba tribe. There is a connection with the countries you mentioned, you just need to do some research it will tell you that.

If someone's name is Mr Frank Jean-Claude, which country would you presume they had a connection with some where in their lineage?......If you can answer this truthfully, then you will see it was a presumption anyone would make.
Maybe Mr Frank Jean-Claude is a francophile. You can find many people like that in the south-south part of Nigeria. That doesn't make them descendants of those countries that their surnames could be associated with, does it?

It means there is a link somewhere to France................especially if that person is white, then YES they are likely to have an ancestral link somewhere to France. You know this, that is why you chose to give an example that is not a white one......lol

The countries you mentioned Brazil, Benin, Togo......do they not have a connection with the Yoruba? Do you think it is coincidence given either their proximity to Nigeria/Yoruba or the slave trade? The Yoruba tribe is not just present in Nigeria, just like the Akan is not just in Ghana....the country boundaries we have today do not take that into account.

If you can honestly state that if you meet someone who's name is Ekeatte or Nneka you would not FIRST assume they have a Nigerian connection.....then fine, but I suspect you would at first, until told otherwise.

So, Ika that occupy the same territory with Igbos are the ones you're comparing with African Americans?

afam4eva: It's good they cleared the air just like NAS did when he came to Nigeria. I don't know what it is with Nigerians and claiming people. How can a nation with over 150million people be looking for more citizens when it has not taken care of the people it has.
sorry dude! GOOGLE PUBLIC STATISTICS SAYS IT 171 MILLION

Our press men are lazy. They ask stupid questions. If you've been online, since the death of the Sister, you'll have known that they had no established heitage links with Nigeria, beyond their wanting to associate with Africa, hence naming the sister tt. It was on the simplest and easiest sites back then - Yahoo, MSN, Eurosports etc. Yet our pressmen still ask stupid questions.

I am afraid of fallen standards in Nigeria. Fallen Education standard I can understand, but reasoning standard
