all4naija: Did you know such action was taken in the past only for the militant groups to use it as a means to bring in weapons for attacking Israel?

I quite agree there is human crises in Gaza that need attention and Israelis ease on it occupation policy, but the Hamas and the other violent people in the Palestinian midst are not helping issues

This is simply an issue of trust to both sides. Both sides bear responsibilities, but i will argue that given Israel's military backbone, its well funded structure and it's position to negotiate terms, it bears more responsibility in that region than Hamas does. Israel has however shown it can't be trusted which makes things a lot more complicated. Time and over again, it has promised to live up to its responsibility only to astound everyone and the international community with an announcement of construction of new settlements.

Before Hamas leader was killed which resulted into the conflict, he had received the draft of a permanent truce agreement with Israel, which included mechanisms for maintaining the cease-fire in the case of a flare-up between Israel and the factions in the Gaza Strip....and then he got struck by an Israeli missile?

and then everyone wanted Hamas to keep quite about that? What would Israel have done if Barak was struck by an Iranian Missile? Obviously, everyone will blame the Iranians and would support Israel for fighting back......but when Israel kills a Hamas leader, everyone expected Hamas to keep quite and simply take it in the azz....and that is not double standards?

HUh! For a preamble, your stance is revealing on one thing Israel needs to take responsibility in all ramifications. Which, it is doing very well- it might not be right to the outside world but it's right to his people.

National security is not negotiable in any sense by shrewd nations. Israel being in the middle of those who repeatedly attack it for being different can not spare the least of trust to a terrorist-labeled group as Hamas. That being said,we have seen in the recent attacks that Israel is not immune to some of these weapons slipping out of detection. The first attempt in keeping to resolution to opening of borders and easing of restriction of movement of people and goods had cost it a lot of security risks and it chose not to allow it again. From that I would blame the crises as consequential result of the failure to stand by the terms of agreement from the militant groups(Of the then Hezbolla and the present Hamas). No nation would want to risk its citizen lives more than once in such a condition. I think that is why Israel is so much concerned in taking drastic measures in controlling the borders and ports of entry into Gaza. Another thing, Iran has been encouraging the Hamas group with supplies of weapon. And, what that means there is much to be conscious of by the Israelis as that nation is aiming to having Nuclear weapons.

The settlement issue has never been taken seriously by both sides. The Palestinians government on one side wants the other to relinquish all the occupied territories and stop construction works with immediate effects but the Israelis government on the other hand was willing to give up some parts of the settlement which the PLO disagreed with, bringing about a promising agreement to furious and untimely end without any solution. Even Obama administration tried to bring both parties to agreement according to 1965 border treaty which the Jewish nation rejected. We can see that no side is willing to stoop for the others to find peace. It is on the interest of Israelis surrounded by Arabs countries which are against it existence to take a vantage position, if not, it could be worse off for its people in the region.

One can't actually ascertain the validity of the drafted truce the Hamas leader had with Israel. Before the Jewish nation goes on rampage in secretly bombarding the military equipment and weapons manufacturing factory in Sudan there must be confidential secrets received from MOSSAD which are unknown to the public(I am only alluding to that - not as precursor evidence to what the actual case might look like). There has been some rockets launched and bombing before the leader was murdered in the course of the retaliatory fight. It is still for the interest of Israelis as Hamas are also trying to fight for the Palestinian people.

If militant group is not ready to play by the rule it will face the consequent mete to underdogs and it's such inexcusable actions we have seen followed and what it has cost innocent lives during the few days of fighting. The devastation reminds of the past bombardment of 2008 and the numbers of dead are inching closely in present fight.

On the final note, I would want Hamas to stay calm and go for civilized means of finding solution than firing of rockets into Israel. On the other hand the Jewish nation should ease it border policy to allow goods(well monitored) to come into Gaza.

It still baffles me why both people can't live in peace side by side. That can be possible just that they are not open to it. The Arab nations are not encouraging at all the wars playing out between both nations, most especially, Iran(a signatory to the Islamic Countries Organization) inciting troubles in that region.

Most of those resolutions have been addressed. You know what that means. Most of the condemnation are due to Israelis capacity to win the wars and occupied the lands. The villains will always be exonerated in most cases as being the underdog, victims, in the case of the Arab neighbors. Israel might be wrong in so many areas but it is not wrong in defending its people in whatever way possible because the UN has not condemn the action of suicide attacks happening within Israeli cities carried out by the militant group and its supporters.

More tired lies and propaganda.

1. If the palestinians have been there for decades then why did they wait for an Egyptian before they realized that they were actually "palestinians" and that Gaza and the westbank was "their land"?

2. They accepted the jews with open minds? This must be the sickest joke of the century.

Please let the Zionist sympathizers continue to praise the killing of Mr Jabari while they forget or ignorant of the fact that the Israelis negotiated via the German secret service with Mr Jabari himself, less than 12 months ago. You can’t negotiate with “terrorists”, right?

Osama Bin laden and Saddam hussein; two of the most notorious enemies of the western world, now late were creations of the Americans. The Americans used Osama to fight the war against the soviets when Afghanistan was invaded and labelled him a terrorist when he stopped supporting them. didn't they know he was violent when he was killing for them. Saddam Hussein was used to topple the Communist regime in Iraq during the cold war. as soon as he turned against the americans he became evil and we all forgot that he used to work for them. It is a fact that more Muslims have died in attacks by extremists and violent people who claim to be fighting for Islam. Are these people truly religious? I doubt it. Should the normally peaceful Muslims who worship God in the best known way to them be punished for the sins of these people/ I don't believe so. I am a Yoruba and i am surrounded by peaceful Muslims. In my community we take care of ourselves either muslim or christians and we care for each other. That is exactly what Jesus teaches us to do as christians. Government and people all over the world have been making a huge mistake, given violence a religious identity and promoting hatred.

In this regards, I believe the Palestinians have been unjustly oppressed, dispossessed of their land and worst of all, being made to look evil when they are in fact, victims. Nobody exactly claims to be the original inhabitants of any land. Man originated from Africa and migrated elsewhere. If the Jews claim ownership of the land based on the holy books, then the holy books even indicate that they got the land by conquest and we might never even know the boundaries of the land said to be occupied by the Hebrews in the Bible. The Arabs occupying the midle east today, most of them got there also by conquests as is most nations today including the US and Britain(Anglo-saxons versus celts). But as the world evolved, man became more enlightened so that the urge to make war and violence began to look crude. man began to desire peace but still could not avoid war, hence the signing of treaties and creation of the UN. In this modern day, any arbitrary occupation and dispossession of other peoples of the lands they occupy and systematic destruction of lives and restriction of people is viewed as genocide and is considered wrong. There have been such cases in modern history and the international community have labelled them as such, all except the creation of Israel because it was done by the world powers themselves.

A senior US diplomat once said that most times American interest is in conflict with American principles. American principle is the idea of ledership, that we hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal and God has given man certain inalienable rights; the right to life, freedom and the pursuit of happiness. American interest is to continue to be the superpower, grab as much resources for its use as possible and continue to be influential in world affairs even if it means going against their founding principles. It is a greedy structure that claims to be holy and yet has supported some of the worst atrocities in history. It creates evil and then begins to fight it. Many of the arab dictators detthroned were installed and supported by US to fight terrorists and US was also instrumental in dethroning them. US uses muslims against themselves and uses christians against muslims.

International diplomacy is crap. Foreign aid is taking money from poor people in rich countries and giving it to rich people in poor countries. Either way, the less powerful will always suffer until they make themselves powerful. I beleive US can never try what they are doing with China.
